Just a little reminder that you don’t need to conquer the world right now. You don’t need to engage in every hobby, every idea, or every hit of inspiration right this second. You don’t need to change your whole life right now. Just sit down. Breathe. You will have time to do what you want. Take it day by day. Pick one thing you’re thinking about right now and focus on that. You won’t be productive with 50 other things in front of you. Push those aside, put something that matters in this moment in front of you, and attack it hard, then move on to the next. One thing at a time.

really strange how you can be almost at peace with something that happened to you but it will continue to be a defining moment of your life for the rest of your life. you wont think about it much anymore but in a conversation about a film someone will mention the year it was released and you’ll think to yourself, “that was before it happened” and you’ll see an old photo and think how strange it is to have existed before it happened and somehow it’s like living a life in two acts

At some point we have to let go of beating ourselves up about mistakes we made in the past. Like are you doing it right now? Would you do it again? If the answer to both of these questions are no, you're not that person anymore, and you don't have to beat yourself up for having grown

When someone comes to you to express a boundary, that's a good and healthy thing! A compliment, even! Because if they simply disliked you and didn't care to be around you, they would just be avoiding you and distancing themselves, not initiating vulnerable communication to fix things

It’s good to grow and learn to be better. But that doesn’t mean your past self was bad or unworthy or anything like that.
Your past self got you through everything, no matter how hard that might have been. And no matter how much you might think you could have done better.
The important thing is you’re here now and even if your past self didn’t do their best, they still survived and got you here.

Life is just so much better when you’re out and about. Walking around a shop, grabbing lunch at your favorite restaurant, a cold beverage of your choice as both hydration and accessory, the fresh air and loud busy surroundings of a world constantly moving forward. I feel like the plastic bag camcorder freak from American Beauty. The pure poetry of it all.
