In the journey to self love you have to understand how important it is to heal your wounds before you began to help others heal.💕   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because we are conditioned to think that helping others is more important than taking care of our own basic needs we never fully heal. It’s like if you get hurt and the doctor gives you stitches and tells you that you need to heal, but instead you go out and start building a house for someone and you rip your stitches. You might be able to fight through the pain for a little while but you end up causing more damage to yourself, then you have to start the healing process again.💕   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The same goes for emotional and spiritual healing. Often times we find ourself being afraid to peruse our dreams because we feel like we aren’t good enough or because we haven’t yet perfected our craft. We kill our dreams before we even give them a chance to flourish and succeed.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is something that I am guilty of myself. I use to let fear stop me from doing the things I loved. I never felt that I could speak up and sharing my gifts with the world. Self-love is a process.It takes time, patience, and perseverance. You have to find the good parts and the bad parts and learn to love them both. It will not be easy, and at times you will have to face the darkest parts of yourself, the things that you’ve suppressed and tried to hide from yourself and others. It will mean choosing yourself even when it’s hard. Self love is being able to make mistakes an forgive yourself instead of beating yourself up. When you learn to be patien and kind to yourself it makes walking away from people places and things that are no longer serving you easy. You learn to grow through pain instead of just going through it. Self love is not all that it’s hyped up to be. Yes it is a beautiful process, but there are some parts of it that are ugly and painful. You will learn things about yourself that you never knew, while being forced to face the parts of yourself that you try so hard to hide from. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The key to a successful self-love journey is to love yourself through it.
