In the new city.

-been sick, so I haven't played in a while.

-But traveling around Solution 9. I love the design.

-When Wuk Lamat mentions finding the soul system disturbing, Sphene sagged and it sent me. I do like Wuk Lamat's comment about wanting to understand and how these practices don't come out of no where. It's seems fucked up, but it didn't come out of the void.

Level 97 quests. Exploring a little bit.

-I like how tense the music is

-"He's never been one to look after his people." Hmmm, Zoraal Ja's a bit cold.

-I bet the displacement was on purpose. Sphene is being so suspicious.

-Wuk Lamat's being direct here. Yes, she's here to kill Zoraal Ja. Sphene gives a very direct answer. the whole my people come first is a really nice sentiment but such a clear non answer and one that would also impress Wuk Lamat.

-those little head pieces are mind controlling them, aren't they? They probably also contain those soul cells, which I bet are people's souls being used to give people chances at revival.

-Yep, they erased his memories of Namikka. This is so sinister. My stomach dropped.

-Memories stored in the cloud omg.

-his mom became a robot, huh. "My Fussy Little Bun Bun!" OMG.

-oh this lofi theme is neat.

-revival is part of the class system of this world oh dear.

Dawntrail msq post 97 dungeon

That was fun if a little harder than previous dungeons this xpac. I like that everything feels learnable so far.

-ooooph, guess you really can't go home again. "To where have I returned" is just so well acted, with such a feeling of heartbreak for Erenville.

-Did we travel to the future?

-Sphene is so pretty. Also smacking me with ff9 easter eggs. It's surreal compared to everything else that's happened.

-lol so are she and zoraal ja married? is this because he was jealous of Wuk Lamat and Koana?

-Wuk Lamat is ready murder her. Alisaie is on the same page as her. I love that they both get on so well.

-Okay not married lol.

Next time we explore the new town. This part has been really fun because I'm just trying to figure out what's up.

Dawntrail MSQ Playthrough

Dealing with a little crisis. Level 96 quests continued.

-Koana saying that they have to speak from the heart is a nice touch. I love seeing the character growth.

-Bakool Ja Ja lending his voice of encouragement to the proceedings is also nice. He knows that the people need faith in their leaders and that his authority and status can bolster that.

-Erenville saying dammit took me out lmao. I can't remember if he's ever been inclined to minor swears before, but it shows how worried he is. It's been nice seeing this side of him.

-I do love seeing ffxiv's theme of unity continuing here. The idea that despite our differences, when we work together there's nothing we can't do.

-Shenza's so cute

-this train fight segment is so silly lmao! But I like the whole G'raha and Alisaie helping each other out. Especially when she wasn't always so warm to him and even seemed a little jealous at first. The WoL's knowing smile at them was the icing on the cake. Also liked when Wuk Lamat switched with Erenville and the look on his face.

-level 97 dungeon next time

PSA for Roleplayers: New/Unique Sub-50 Gear Added

Howdy friends and lovers! I have yet to see anyone make mention of this, so I though that I’d take the liberty of doing so myself for all you glamorous people out there!

The other day I happened to notice someone in Eulmore wearing an old robe model, only it had a totally different look than I had seen before. When I inspected them, the gear was listed as an “altered” item. Curious, I searched my crafting log and lo and behold!

Turns out there’s a bunch of these! They aren’t all classified as altered items, mind. But just as an example, here is Rufus in the altered cobalt armour, which is a recolour of the Cavalry set from Brayflox normal:

Personally, I love this set. So I took to crafting it quickly - which was super inexpensive - and haven’t looked back. What I have done, however, is look at the list of new items datamined in Shadowbringers and copied from it what items appear to be new ones so that you lot could have a spoiler-free look at the names of the new stuff so you can check it out for yourself. Hopefully that’s helpful!

I know folks are probably tired of reading about it, but something was brought up on Twitter and in my personal Discord that I felt was really important perspective to add in regards to the whole “fujoshi” discussion. (I also promise I will try to make this the very last thing I’ll talk about on it.)

I think discussing fetishization and its impact on the lives of people is an extremely important talk to have.  It’s why I’ve talked about it at such length on my blog.  However, I also think that it’s equally important that we stress respect for other people as the answer to fetishization and continue to encourage people to RP whatever they would like to as long as they are respectful towards the lives and experiences of other people.

When these kinds of discussions come up, it can be easy to slip into the mindset that NO ONE should ever RP a gender or sexuality that isn’t their own.  No straight women should be RPing as a gay man.  No man should ever be RPing as a woman. It’s obviously just a fetish character!

I mentioned before in another post that myself and some trans male friends I know discovered our sexual and gender identities through RP.   RP was an important key for myself and for others in recognizing who we are and I don’t want that opportunity to be taken away from other people who could find themselves in the same way.

What I didn’t mention was that myself and at least one of my trans male friend went through a lot of fear, doubt, and self-loathing when it came to our gender-identities, because we were often fearful that we were just gross fujoshi who were fetishising so hard that we’d Jedi mind-tricked ourselves into thinking we were a different gender when we weren’t.  There were questions about “am I really feeling gender dysphoria, or do I feel it, because trying hard to be trans?”

So I dunno how many of you saw the Lodestone announcement about this, but apparently they are warning players about an unusually high amount of “stolen” Mogstation codes. Basically what’s happening is this: Someone gets their account hacked and/or their credit card info stolen, and the thief then goes on to the Mogstation and purchases a bunch of item codes with the stolen credit card info. They then take those ill-gotten codes and throw them up on third-party websites like eBay and sell them for half-off to make them more attractive to potential buyers. The seller doesn’t care that they’re “losing” money, because they’re using a stolen card to purchase them in the first place. This effectively turns the players utilizing these eBay codes into a money-laundering service.  So how does this effect you? Well, Square Enix issued their statement today reminding people not to use these third-party websites to buy their Mogstation item codes. That’s all well and good, if you don’t use these places to get item codes for the Mogstation, you’re probably thinking this doesn’t effect you. However, it came up in a reddit thread that this can unfortunately mean someone could buy a code and give it to someone else, and that may result in penalties on that person’s account. This could even potentially be done maliciously, though more likely than not, it could happen innocently enough.

They do not appear to be issuing penalties yet, however, since SE gets dinged with a chargeback fee everytime this happens, it is costing them money, so I suspect it may be something they do crackdown on aggressively in the future.

In other words: Be extremely wary of any Mogstation gift codes you may receive that are not from a 100% trusted source.
