Despite their best efforts, the team couldn't locate Jorlan. Every attempt to trace his steps proved futile no matter how many devices they deployed. Then, just as suddenly as he had vanished, Jorlan returned. One evening, as the team gathered for their evening meal, he stumbled into the research station. Everyone rushed to greet him, bombarding him with questions about where he had been and what he had seen. Jorlan, however, remained tight-lipped. They assumed his reluctance to talk stemmed from a traumatic experience and in wanting to respect his privacy, they didn't push for answers. The team tried their best to support Jorlan but found it difficult to do when he began to exhibit strange behaviors. It was subtle at first. He became more reclusive, often avoiding social gatherings and spending long hours in the lab. His normally meticulous work grew erratic with unfinished projects and nonsensical reports. He was frequently lost in thought, his eyes unfocused and distant, as if he were somewhere far away. As days turned into weeks, Jorlan's condition worsened. He started missing routine check-ins and meetings, a stark contrast to his previously punctual nature. When approached, he would brush off concerns with a weak smile, insisting he was fine, but his pallor and the dark circles under his eyes told a different story. Eventually, he fell ill. It began with a persistent cough that quickly escalated into severe fatigue. Jorlan, who once navigated the station with purpose and energy, now moved sluggishly, his steps unsteady. He rarely left his room, and when he did, it was only for brief moments before retreating back into the confines of his quarters. One morning, as the light cast a long shadow across the research station, the ORION team members went about their tasks, unaware that what they'd been harboring for the past few weeks had reached maturity. Jorlan, who had been confined to his room for days, emerged unexpectedly. His appearance was shocking; his skin had taken on a sickly brownish hue, and his eyes, once bright and intelligent, were now clouded and devoid of emotion. He moved with a jerky, unnatural gait, his body seeming to struggle against some internal force. The team gathered around him, alarmed by his sudden appearance and worsening condition. They pleaded with him to return to his room, to let them help him, but Jorlan did not respond. Instead, he let out a guttural, inhuman growl. His body convulsed violently, and before their eyes, he began to change. Vines and tendrils erupted from his skin, tearing through his suit. His limbs elongated and twisted into grotesque shapes, covered in thorny growths. His face distorted and lost all semblance of humanity as it morphed into a gaping, petal-like maw that split open into a star-shaped pattern. With terrifying strength and speed, he lunged at the nearest team member, his thorny appendages slicing through the air. Panic erupted as the team scrambled to defend themselves, but they were no match for the creature Jorlan had become. He moved with deadly precision, his new form imbued with a primal, savage intelligence. The station descended into chaos. Alarms blared, and lights flickered as the team members fought desperately to contain the creature. But he was relentless, his plant-like body impervious to their efforts. One by one, they fell, succumbing to his vicious assault. Amid the carnage, it became clear that Jorlan was no longer acting of his own will. His attacks were calculated, as if driven by a singular purpose. After incapacitating the entire team, he somehow managed to override the ship's controls and force it to return to their home planet. The citizen's of Sixam were caught completely off guard. The luminescent cities and serene landscapes became battlegrounds as the monstrous plant creatures descended upon them and overwhelmed the unprepared populace with brutal efficiency. The few survivors, driven to the fringes of civilization, could only watch in horror as their world was overrun.

Jorlan found himself lagging behind, his attention momentarily drawn to a strange reading on his helmet's display. The massive gust of wind created by the creature knocked him off the path and sent him rolling down a slight incline hidden by the mist. The rocky terrain gave way to a forest unlike any he had ever seen. The mist here was denser, swirling around his legs like a living entity. The trees were tall and slender, their trunks glowing faintly with an ethereal light. The leaves were a mixture of deep greens and vibrant purples, shimmering as though imbued with some inner luminescence. Strange plants littered the forest floor, casting a soft, otherworldly glow that illuminated his surroundings. Jorlan slowly sat up, taking in his surroundings with a mixture of awe and caution. The air was thick with the scent of unfamiliar flora, a heady mix of sweet and earthy aromas. He reached for his equipment, ensuring his helmet and mask were still in place. His helmet's display flickered to life, showing him a wealth of data about the environment. The readings were unlike anything he had encountered before. As Jorlan carefully navigated through the forest, he noticed a structure looming in the distance. It appeared to be an ancient, intricately carved stone building, partially overgrown with vines and plants. Curiosity piqued and with no other apparent options, he decided to approach the structure. The ground beneath his feet was covered in strange vines, each one dotted with tiny tendrils that seemed to reach out towards him as he walked. They reacted to his presence, gently swaying and pulsing with light, as if acknowledging his arrival. Jorlan pulled out his pistol, holding it at the ready. As he drew closer to the structure, his attention was drawn to a large, purple plant bulb situated at the center of the dilapidated room. It stood about waist-high, its surface smooth and glossy. He approached with his pistol trained on it, his finger resting lightly on the trigger. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, a mix of fear and fascination driving him forward. As he got closer, the bulb began to shudder and slowly unfurl, revealing its hidden contents. To his surprise, the bulb opened to reveal a woman inside with skin a delicate shade of lavender. She was adorned with intricate patterns of vine-like lines that traced across her skin, and her eyes, a deep, mesmerizing orange, locked onto his with an intensity that made him freeze in place. Before he could react, a voice echoed in his mind, clear and melodic and Jorlan felt a strange sense of calm wash over him as he listened to her.

The team's spacecraft descended through the thick, swirling mist that enveloped the planet. As they broke through the clouds, the team could see the surface below—an expanse of rugged terrain marked by jagged peaks and uneven plains. The sky above them was perpetually bathed in ribbons of vibrant colors that danced across the horizon, illuminating the mist in hues of green, blue, and purple. The landing was smooth, with the spacecraft's landing gear absorbing the impact as it touched down on a relatively flat area between two rocky outcrops. The ship's engines powered down, leaving only the hum of onboard systems and the distant, ambient sounds of the planet. As they emerged from the spacecraft, the constant aurora above provided a surreal, ambient light that guided their way. The ground beneath their feet was rough and uneven, forcing them to move carefully as they began their exploration. Zerath led the way, his helmet's sensors scanning the environment and feeding data back to his display. Velana, Zyri, and Jorlan moved methodically, occasionally stopping to collect samples of the glowing flora or to take atmospheric readings. As they moved deeper into the mist-covered terrain, Zerath's sensor beeped, drawing his attention to an unexpected reading. He stopped abruptly, raising a hand to signal the others. The team halted, turning to face him. Zerath examined the readings on his tactical pad, his brow furrowing in concentration. "There's something fifty meters to the north," he continued. "It's large." Jorlan immediately adjusted his own sensors to focus on the direction indicated. "It's...moving. I don't think--," A sudden, intense vibration resonated around them, causing a few loose rocks nestled within the wall to fall and shatter around them. A shadow fell over them, cast by a massive, descending figure. They looked up just in time to see a majestic yet terrifying creature descending from the heavens. It had the body of a dragon, covered in shimmering, iridescent feathers that glowed with a deep purple hue. Its wings were enormous, each feather catching the light of the aurora above, creating a dazzling display of colors. Long, curved horns extended from its head, adding to its intimidating appearance. The creature let out a deafening roar, a sound that reverberated through the mist and echoed off the rocky cliffs before it lunged towards the team with astonishing speed. "Run!" Zerath shouted as he raised his weapon and began firing shots at the creature, aiming for its wings. The energy bolts struck the creature, but instead of wounding it, they only seemed to infuriate it. The creature pushed forward and swiped at the eldest Sixonian with one of its clawed forelimbs. The swipe nearly tore Zerath's arm from his body, forcing him to stagger back. His suit's artificial intelligence immediately began warning him of significant blood loss, but the seasoned lieutenant gritted his teeth and kept firing, trying to buy time for the others. "Fall back to the ship!" Zerath commanded, his voice steady despite the pain. The others fired a few meager shots from their pistols before turning and sprinting back towards their spacecraft, the creature's roars echoing behind them. Velana and Zyri ran side by side, their breaths coming in sharp gasps as they navigated the treacherous terrain. Jorlan was close behind, his mind racing with thoughts of what the creature could be and how they might defend against it. The creature roared again, its wings beating furiously as it gave chase. As they reached the ship, the airlock doors hissed open, and they rushed inside, the safety of the spacecraft mere steps away. Zerath was the last to enter, clutching his injured arm but still ready to defend his team. Inside the ship, the doors sealed shut and the team took a moment to catch their breath. It was then that they realized something was horribly wrong. Jorlan wasn't there.

The ORION team stumbled across a previously undiscovered planet during a routine atmospheric probe. Their spacecraft, equipped with advanced long-range scanners, detected unusual energy signatures emanating from an uncharted region of space. Initially, the readings were faint and erratic but as they drew closer, the signals grew stronger and more distinct, piquing their curiosity. That next morning, before the debriefing, each team member meticulously prepared for the mission. Jorlan started by running diagnostics on all their devices. While waiting, he delved into the latest data collected from their recent missions and analyzed the raw data streams in order to compile the data into a series of comprehensive reports, complete with visualizations to make the information more accessible for the team. Zerath began his day long before anyone else with a demanding training session. Afterward, he reviewed the latest intelligence reports with Zyri. He considered various scenarios they might encounter, from ambushes to environmental hazards, and outlined responses for each. Meanwhile, Zyri tried to decipher the energy signatures to no avail. Velana spent the morning in the laboratory where she conducted final analyses on biological samples collected from their latest expedition. Each observation was carefully documented, contributing to the growing body of knowledge about the new life forms they encountered. Despite extensive records, there was nothing that could prepare them for what was to come. As each team member entered the briefing room, they were greeted by a large, central table surrounded by ergonomic chairs, each equipped with individual data screens. The room’s walls were adorned with interactive displays showing real-time data feeds, star charts, and mission objectives. The central holographic projector hummed to life, displaying a rotating 3D model of the planet they were orbiting. The planet's surface appeared rugged, a vast expanse of reddish-brown terrain marked by deep canyons. Dust storms swept across the surface, creating an 3D render of swirling particles. Velana stood at the center of the room, her eyes scanning the holographic display that projected a detailed topographical map. "Preliminary scans indicate a complex network of underground caverns," she began, "These caverns may harbor unique alien life forms adapted to the harsh, subterranean environment." Zyri tapped her datapad and outlined a few zones of interest. "There are also unusual energy signatures emanating from deep within the caverns. If we can decipher their source, it may open new avenues." Zerath stepped forward, his expression serious. "While the scientific prospects are promising, we must proceed with extreme caution. The unstable terrain and frequent dust storms pose significant risks. We don't know what kind of creatures might be lurking in those dark caverns and any misstep could be deadly. Stay alert and stick to the safety protocols." Jorlan stepped up and tried to surpress a smile as he tapped his handheld device to project schematics on the center console. "Before we go, I’ve got a new piece of equipment that I’ve been dying to field-test: a helmet. It isn’t just about protection; it’s equipped with an integrated augmented reality display, advanced environmental sensors, and a real-time communication system.” He carefully pulled out a few high-tech masks, placing them on the table with a sense of pride. The masks were impressive, designed with a sleek, modern aesthetic that spoke of advanced engineering. The main body of each mask was made of a lightweight, durable material with a matte black finish, giving them a streamlined, almost futuristic look. Across the front, a curved transparent panel covered the mouth area, allowing for clear visibility of the wearer's facial expressions while still providing protection. As the debriefing came to an end, the ORION team geared up and prepared to descend to the planet's surface.

Meet the Townies: ᴏʀɪᴏɴ
Orion, otherwise known as the Operations for Research, Intelligence, and Optimization Network, was composed of a specialized group of Sixonians tasked to study and understand other planets and lifeforms. Their primary mission was to gather intelligence, conduct biological research, and develop new technologies to enhance the capabilities and knowledge of their race. The team consisted of (from left to right) Jorlan Vex, Lieutenant Zerath Veylor, Doctor Velana Krynn, and Zyri Solith. Before being offered a position on the ORION team, Jorlan attended the prestigious Korthis Institute of Technology, where he specialized in advanced systems engineering and quantum mechanics. After graduating with honors, Jorlan was employed by the Orbitex Industries, where he worked on developing cutting-edge technology for space travel. He led multiple successful projects that secured him a spot within ORION. As the team's systems engineer, Jorlan was responsible for maintaining and enhancing the team's technological equipment. Following his graduation from the Kharis Military Academy, Zerath was a member of the SPECTREs (Special Planetary Exploration and Combat Tactical Response Experts) where he served with distinction for several decades. He participated in numerous high-risk missions. During one such mission, Zerath sustained a severe injury to his lower limbs. The injury left him with limited mobility, forcing him into early retirement from active military service. While adjusting to his new life away from the battlefield, Zerath received an unexpected offer from in search of security officer. Despite his injury, Zerath immediately jumped at the chance. As the security officer, his primary responsibility was to ensure the safety of the team during their missions, handling any security threats and leading defensive operations if necessary. Velana attended the Valtara Academy of Sciences, where she majored in xenobiology. Her exceptional performance and passion for extraterrestrial life earned her a scholarship to the Sixonian Institute of Extraterrestrial Research (SIER), the leading institution for space biology and alien ecology studies. At SIER, she conducted research on extremophiles and their potential to survive on other planets. Her doctoral thesis on the adaptability of alien microbial life forms received widespread acclaim and set the stage for her future career. The Sixonian Institute of Extraterrestrial Research, recognizing the growing need for a dedicated team to explore and study new planets and alien life forms, greenlit the creation of ORION with the intent to combine the best minds in various scientific and technological fields to conduct in-depth research and ensure Sixam's continued dominance of exploration. Dr. Velana Krynn was selected as the team's xenobiologist due to her unparalleled expertise and proven track record in alien biology. Her role in ORION involved studying the physiology, behavior, and ecosystems of extraterrestrial species. Zyri was an employee at the Sixonian Intergalactic Communication Bureau where she specialized in xenolinguistics, semiotics, and interspecies communication. Her groundbreaking research on deciphering alien languages and developing universal translation algorithms garnered the attention of the Sixonian Institute of Extraterrestrial Research, earning her a place on the team. As the team's Communication and Linguistics Specialist, Zyri is responsible for establishing and maintaining communication with alien species. Her tasks included decoding and interpreting alien languages, developing translation protocols, and ensuring clear and effective communication during missions. Meet the Townies: ᴊᴏʜɴɴʏ
Johnny Zest began his journey to stardom in his late teens by creating short, comedic skits on Social Bunny. A few of his videos went viral, but his primary source of fame was a video where he interviewed attendees at 'UrsineCon', a niche event meant for people who enjoy dressing up as bears, collecting bear memorabilia, and immersing themselves in bear-themed activities. His interview style was characterized by respect and genuine curiosity, which in turn gave a platform for these individuals to share their unique stories and passions. His approach was less about making jokes at their expense and more about highlighting the creativity and experience as a whole. He continued to create videos in this style after it exploded in popularity, attending various events such as the 'Gnome Gala', 'Grilled Cheese Griddle-Off', and the 'Voidcritter Battle Bash'. Johnny eventually became a sought-after guest on a variety of podcasts due to his talent for storytelling and insightful yet humorous commentary. This exposure led him to voice acting, where he lent his distinctive voice to several projects. He even made a memorable guest appearance on the popular Dungeons and Dragons stream 'The Adventurer's Guild' as Zephyr, the air genasi bard. Unfortunately, his life took an unexpected turn when a group of internet sleuths uncovered his birth certificate records, revealing his relation to the wealthy and influential Landgraab family. This revelation sparked a wave of controversy with many of his fans and detractors believing Johnny had misrepresented himself to gain popularity. The backlash was swift after the hashtags #ZestyScandal and #LandgraabLeech began trending. Critics accused him of using his family's wealth and connections to further his career. Various online forums dissected his past with some suggesting that his viral successes were orchestrated by the Landgraab family influence. In response, Johnny took to his platforms to address the accusations. He admitted to being estranged from the Landgraabs and insisted he had built his career independently. Despite his efforts to clarify his position, Johnny had effectively been 'canceled'. After the accusations had somewhat died down, Johnny decided it was time to return to his roots. He wanted to rebuild his reputation and reconnect with his audience in a meaningful way. Thus, "Plumbob Perspective" was born, a groundbreaking talk show hosted on SimTube. In it, Johnny explores a wide range of topics relevant to the community and beyond, from social issues to pop culture, all with his signature blend of humor and insight. The show features in-depth interviews with experts and other social media stars, providing a platform for meaningful conversations and diverse perspectives. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎‎ As "Plumbob Perspective” continues to gain traction, many are wondering if Johnny Zest has truly risen from the ashes of his past controversies. While the show has been well-received, with viewers praising its fresh take on current events and engaging format, some skeptics remain unconvinced. Only time will tell if Johnny has effectively reinvented himself.
