They all hesitate, but Shiro heads in first, then Pidge, then Hunk. Lance stands in front of it in awe; it's dark, but the morning sun illuminates the beginning of the tunnel, and he can see intricate carvings covering the walls of it, depicting a lion. 

 

"This is what I was talking about." Keith says in a quiet voice, walking up to stand right next to Lance. 

 

"...It feels familiar."

 

Keith glances at him with a new softness in his eyes. They both stand there, unmoving, until Pidge turns his head and raises an eyebrow, "You two coming?"

 

"...Yeah." Keith's reply echoes, beginning to walk over. But Lance doesn't follow. A dreadful feeling washes over him, as if he knows something bad will eventually happen if he goes in, but he doesn't know what. He couldn't think straight, couldn't breathe, couldn't move. He was frozen. 

 

Keith looks back and takes a deep breath, then rejoins Lance. He takes hold of the brunet's jacket sleeve between his index finger and thumb, pulling him forward gently.

"Come on, slowpoke." Keith says fondly, like a term of endearment.
