The Problem With Job Searching
Job searching is an essential part of life as everyone will have to apply for something at some point in their life but jobs are typically the most common. Who can go wrong with applying for work?
Lets start with the requirement of some of these jobs, I get that these jobs just don't want anyone applying but setting an unrealistic requirement of 5 Years experience for a simple data entry job is a bit ridiculous. Then there's the remote/work from home jobs and these are even more ridiculous to the point where you need not only 5 years experience in call center work, you also need to have advanced programming skills again for some reason just to get a job being a live chat agent.
I see so you wont hire the person looking desperately for work but they'll hire someone who doesn't even speak a lick of english and have them click on automated responses. See what I think is that these jobs only want shills to work for them as if we worked there then I guarantee you that we would find something out about the company and have them shut down as a result.
By far the worst offender of job searching is when the employer lets you in under false promises and then you end up leaving after a handful of months cause all the benefits and perks only come with management and 5+ years of work... The main problem is that some people live in isolated like towns where you'd have to drive 30-40 minutes at least at 60MPH just to get to another town and with the hourly pay rate being somewhat decent if the employer shafts you on hours then you're effectively spending more in gas than what your making to cover the gas as well as any and all bills.
Yes a job might pay 13+/hr but if you're only getting 12-16 hours a week if even then its not all that good then, lets not forget the dastardly act of Winter Hours which feels like corpo BS while yes some hours change but its usually the entry level people getting only 1-2 days a week while managers don't change at all or they'll tell you that things are slow when the calls/costumers just keep coming all day long for the entire week but you know it's slow so lets cut down hours.
really it should be illegal for an employer to cut ones hours down to next to nothing per week especially with the cost of living these days.
What do you all think? you feel job searching just feels like a waste of time out of anticipation of either outright being denied or getting screwed over in the long run?

The Parallel Zelda Timeline
The Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Finally has a placement on the Timeline? Or is it a new timeline all together? Or does it split off from Skyward Sword? I call it

Is all I've getting out of you and its crazy how accurate this is for filling in the timeline of events.
Tumblr media
Not done yet, but working on a video about the new timeline, and the fact its pulling stuff from the old timeline. Basically Era of Myth and DragonBreak Timeline is a "parallel reality where the same events occur differently or not at all"
Still working on the video editing but i needed to get this done first. Video will explain it better and has a TON of evidence.

I hear you there friend, Piracy while illegal is easily justified from this alone. you forgot to mention about games played on original hardware being a challenge as you're narrowed down to;
Pirate old games that will have 0 benefit to the companies that make them
-or-
Search out a copy of a popular game only to find its being sold for like $300+ because the publishers/devs arent the ones selling it the scalper that bought it and is up charging the thing is making 5X as much as the devs would.
Yeah piracy is definitely the answer here, unless the older games get an emulated re-release or even a collection of them much like the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, honestly Konami and capcom are doing a better job at game preservation than other Publishers, its a damn shame the same ones that wont better preserve their games are usually the ones that DMCA fan projects.
Less than 20% of video games made before 2010 are accessible to play today.
Piracy and emulation is not only justified, it's necessary for the preservation of art.

The Launching Issue With Publishers.
I'm someone that frequents all sorts of games and at times I'll dip into the AAA territory. However this leads to a major issue that I personally find rather tedious and somewhat pointless and if you haven't figured it out from the title then allow me to explain.
We already have our run of the mill Launchers like Ubisoft Connect, EA Launcher, Steam, Epic Games Launcher, and even BattleNet offering a store front as well as a friends list and other unique features tied to each launcher with steam having the workshop and other community features, Challenge hub for Ubisoft, the Free games featured on Epic, and of course EA and Ubisoft sharing the steam locale for their games allowing anyone on any storefront play together.
Those however are not the launchers that are the issue as those are actually viable to what they offer. Some Studios you'd least expect now have their very own launcher and for anyone playing on console then you don't have to worry about these, PC players however will know to dread these launchers.
Rockstar Games Launcher
This launcher is one example of why some of these extra studio launchers are pointless as this adds nothing for players to gain aside from seeing their games which any other storefront that hosts games from multiple devs and studios will have all their listed games be available to see.
What makes RGL a hinderance to players is the integration of it in older games such as GTA IV to where you can't save the game unless you're logged in either online or offline but still forcing a launcher requirement on the game that doesn't need it and functioned perfectly fine prior to it being integrated.
It's not like Rockstar is putting in their Social Club features as those can be accessed from a browser of any kind and to say it again, this launcher is pointless and just becomes another step to playing the game of which if anything goes wrong with it then you can't even play the game.
2K Games Launcher
Honestly I didn't even know this was a thing until I bought the Mafia trilogy, much like Rockstar this launcher is pointless as all it has to offer is a store front to all PC games tied to 2K so roughly about 5~ franchises to buy or launch from the launcher offering really nothing to the table other than being a hinderance to playing the game.
Game Launchers In General
While I've only encountered a handful of launchers for standalone games, the launcher for Prison Architect is one that was the inspiration behind this post as early access releases of the game didn't have this step to launching the game. it essentially serves as a newsletter pop-up for the game and offers nothing else but is still required to launch the game meaning you need yet another account in order to play a game.
The Reason Why
The reason why these additional launchers exist is mainly to try and stand out as they seen EA and Ubisoft doing it however over time Ubisoft and EA got better with their launchers as in the past they had so many issues with them forgetting passwords or outright crashing when attempting to locate a games files.
EA and Ubisoft will use your username and such when doing cross-play but also offer some features behind it that actually stand out as oppose to "hey guys look we have a launcher so you can browse our games" when Steam already has that option available by clicking on the developer name or publisher name. Steam also allows native cross-play with many games already that just uses your steam name or an inputted name within game to show up in cross-play games.
The way I see it gaming has gone downhill and segregating games to launchers is becoming a bit ridiculous. One of the reasons not listed above is definitely a money issue as a games on steam when bought the developer/publisher only sees about a 70% cut while steam takes 30% so for every $60 game sold steam sees an $18-$20 cut per sale while if the games are bought through a launcher the publisher/studio is 100% them, so yeah money is the reason something pointless outside sales.

One-To-None Re-makes/masters
It's no secret that Remakes never live up to their original counterparts, and while they offer a similar experience in the end the original offered more in terms of content or even detail. Remasters while being a Modern Port still finds a way to strip something from the game, allow me to explain.
REMASTERS
Remasters again while provide players with a Modern Port of their favorite game and usually in a collection (Devil may cry, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Dragon Ball Z, etc.) and marked with a lower than norm price. However if we take Metal Gear Solid 3 HD you'll see that while it Mimics the Euro/Subsistance release, you'll see that the entire 2nd disc is missing aside from the Duel Mode which IIRC was on disc 1 as a completion reward. then lets take a look at The Last of Us Part I the "Remake" of the first game but we all know that its a glorified Remaster of the Remaster for PS4 and what happened to it? The entire MP aspect was cut in favor to have people buy Part II in order to play against people when the Remaster offered it. But not all Remasters have the MP portion in them. Other titles that have had a remaster with their Multiplayer modes cut are followed but not limited to;
Uncharted 4 (PC release)
Mass Effect 3
Crysis Remastered Trilogy (co-op and MP)
REMAKES
Remakes are a whole different bag as they try to incapsulate the nostalgic feeling while implementing new or improved features to make it feel Modern. Resident Evil 2 is one of those games that look amazing in terms of graphical quality, however the lack of the zapping system featured in the original 1998 release back on the PS1 that allowed any actions taken by Leon or Claire and having that decision effect the other in their B game (If Claire A uses a shutter to block zombies then in Leon B those same shutters will open after short circuiting bringing those zombies into the RPD). This is instead replaced with an altered path of the same exact set of events only having the starting point, puzzle solutions, Item Locations, and final boss being changed, other than that 1st Run and 2nd Run are the same between the two characters and yet the game unlocks the other characters 2nd run when completing the 1st run of the other character.
Now with Remakes I get that at times they're more reimagining's than anything but another offender In the case of piss poor remakes is Resident Evil 3. What makes this Soulless to the original 1999 release is a lot when compared to RE2, RE3 in this regard drops the Live Selection system (timed choices), altering paths depending on where you go like going to the Restaurant to meet Carlos and finding one of the gems in the press office where if met in the press office then the gem would be in the basement of the restaurant, an actual randomly encountered nemesis, and the lack of a subtle lab. The Lab was merely located under the hospital as oppose to it being hidden within a factory.
Another remake that seek to improve everything visually and implement features from later games would be the Yakuza Kiwami remakes, while not bad like other remakes there's mainly some level of detail that was better represented in the PS2 release. The scene that comes to mind is in Kiwami 2 when fighting the Go-Ryu Clan at the Tojo HQ with cars blocking the entrance rather than what they did in Kiwami 2 and just have the AR restricted area field pop up. That said the Kiwami games are still good for those looking to get into the series although if you plan to play them i strongly recommend you play through 0 first as both Kiwami games do have call backs to that game. I wont dwell anymore on this game series as Cvit covered this in more detail addressing a plethora of issues the remakes have when compared to the PS2 releases.

friendly reminder for the new twitter refugees:
change your icon/pfp and put something coherent in your blog description or you're going to get blocked bcs people think you're a bot
this site is built around reblogs, so please actually reblog posts(especially art and fics!!)
you can set your likes and follows to private
checkmarks here are a meme and mean nothing
follower counts are private and we like it that way, so get used to not judging people by that metric
drama and discourse is boring, use your blacklist and block button liberally
DON'T CENSOR YOURSELF!! we can swear and say kill and make fun of corporations all we want, and if you tiktok-ify your tags people who have things blacklisted for whatever reason will still see them, and people who want to see that content won't be able to find it!! spell words out normally, you won't get in trouble!!
tumblr live is sketchy as hell and full of fake accounts, if you decide to use it anyway may god have mercy on your soul o7
be nice to the reddit refugees, they're our friends <3
