🌚 We're returning to serve face and more!! Introducing our new handmade clay earrings honouring the Egyptian God Ra aka Re aka Amun-Ra 🌞 👀Tap to check out our Etsy shop and don't forget to swipe 👉🏾 Recommended pairing - Elegua face mask 🌞Ra the God of the Sun - Ra was the most important God. He was the lord of all the gods. He was usually shown in human form with a falcon head, crowned with the sun disc encircled by a sacred cobra. Ra sailed across the heavens in a boat called the 'Barque of Millions of Years'. At the end of each day, Ra was thought to die and sailed on his night voyage through the Underworld, leaving the Moon to light the world above. #facemack #blackowned #blackhistory #westindies #caribbean #africa #alkebulan #Youroumaÿn #egyptiandieties #egyptianspirituality #egypt #sungodra (at River Nile Egypt) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMo9IAhB6PM/?igshid=1e0f1er2d09gz

🍯There wouldn't be no Oshun's Vanity without my mother - it's that simple. It was down to her craft and black excellence why so much has been learnt in the past year. This post honours my mum (Mother Daisy 🇻🇨) and grandmothers Doris (🇻🇨slide 3+4) and Daphne (🇯🇲 RIP 💛 slide. 5+6). 🖤🖤🖤🖤 I'm taking a moment to also shine light to two Yorùbá dieties and sisters/ Oshun (goddess of divinity, femininity, fertility, beauty and love) and Yemaya (Goddess of the living Ocean, considered the mother of all). Mother to all! Showing us our our worth, intelligence, power and beauty. Spirit mothers guiding our mothers and their mothers. 💻Anna Sulc - 'Oshun is one of the youngest orishas and Yemaya's younger sister. Legend has it, that Oshun did not always rule the rivers of the world. She was created by the Olodumare because the world he had created was missing love and sweetness. However, because she represented these qualities, she was also the most beautiful orisha and was constantly pursued by other gods. One day, when she was being chased by Ogun, the warrior orisha, she fell in to a river and disappeared in a whirlpool. Yemaya took her under her protection and gave her dominion over all the Earth's rivers. As orishas that watch over all that is love, marriage and family, the sisters often work together: Oshun watches over love and sensuality and then passes on a task to her sister, the great mother, who protects the mother, child and ensures a safe birth.' Happy Mothers Day Empresses! #mothersday #yemaya #oshun (at Alkebulan) https://www.instagram.com/p/CMZpvn1Bcpw/?igshid=17xvi6ujznzqw

🤍🔥Blessings!! Long time no post but we have been active offline - we promise. There's a value in seeking solitude it gives us time to cleanse the mind, body and soul to clearly see the path destined for us. Cleansing has been a word on our mind recently so why not kick with a HAPPY MOTHERS DAY and a few words on cleansing. A book that changed my life 📒: Luisah Teish - Jambalaya (1985) Last slide vid - Youtube💻: 'Thousands of Haitians made their way to the sacred Saut d'Eau waterfalls in a voodoo pilgrimage on Friday as the country still reels from the devastating effects of last January's earthquake. According to folklore, an image of the mother of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, appeared near the waterfalls around 200 years ago. Today, most pilgrims pay homage to the goddess of love - Erzulie - the equivalent of the Virgin Mary in Vodou, the Creole word for voodoo.' #mothersday #blackspirituality #africanspirituality #african diaspora #blackhistory #cleansingritual #haiti #Sautd'Eau #blackownedbusiness https://www.instagram.com/p/CMZboM7hB-l/?igshid=1c3t95ytd391p

🗣To be Native Aboriginal American whether it be North American (+ Caribbean) or South American is to be black. Our skin shades varied due to the fact the black woman can birth a child of any skin tone and is the only that can do so. But with all the photography, sculptures and paintings of dark-skinned black and brown toned people documented and now accessible via the good ole internet we are still having to fight to claim our history and identity.⠀ ⠀ Using native North Americans as an example the reality is that Caucasian slave masters paid 5 dollars to classify themselves as a native American, wiped out blacks by murder or raping us until we produce offsprings who possess eurocentric features and to top it off claim reparations. Yes - they paid themselves back. There are so many black people who are native but the term African-American denies a lot of black people of claiming native American heritage. ⠀ ⠀ "ENABLE THE CITIZENS OF THE NORTH TO CARRY ON A WAR OF EXTERMINATION UNTIL THE LAST RED SKIN OF THESE TRIBES HAS BEEN KILLED.⠀ ⠀ EXTERMINATION IS NO LONGER A QUESTION OF TIME – THE TIME HAS ARRIVED, THE WORK HAS COMMENCED AND LET THE FIRST MAN WHO SAYS TREATY OR PEACE BE REGARDED A TRAITOR.” ⠀ ⠀ -Yreka Herald 1853 (Californian genocide) ⠀ ⠀ So many of our ancestors weren't enslaved on a boat and brought over to the Americas! Africans had been travelling and setting up civilisations from early! ⠀ ⠀ 📸 #1: Californie Indien Dansant. Date unknown. L. Consciously Existing! 🍂To see colour as just colour is like asking for unseasoned chicken in Nando's - it just doesn't make sense. There is always a deeper meaning. Today we look at orange and its relation to our chakras.🍂 We highly recommend purchasing a smart bulb if you like to zen or meditate and complete be immersed by a certain colour. We tend to go for red which is connected to our root chakra - maybe we in constant need of wanting to feel grounded. #orange #chakra #consciousness #buyblack #protectself #spiritualbeing #colourmeaning #energy #goodvibes #sunset (at Walthamstow, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ9NDSMhcJ0/?igshid=1riviuzgc2ima

Let's start the year breaking stereotypes. Muslim have been purposefully misrepresented, ignored and brutalised. The western world caused harm and created enough confusion to cause an internal divide and enable some to conform and entertain the stereotype. Many of us including myself (@sharifahtynnetta) have projected activism off of sheer ignorance and lack of understanding of cultural difference. Let's take a moment to understand others. Their customs are not weird or unusual. ⠀ ⠀ 📸: Slide 1- Tuareg man Slide 5: Tuareg woman at a wedding ⠀ 💻: The Tuareg people are a large Berber ethnic confederation. They principally inhabit the Sahara in a vast area stretching from far southwestern Libya to southern Algeria, Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso. #Sahara #Tuareg #tuaregpeople #Islam #alkebulan #africa (at Sahara Desert) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJqwrSLhzyg/?igshid=az5zktzttlyu

🟥⬛️🟩Them: Habari Gani? (What's the news?)⠀ Us: Ujima⠀ ⠀ DAY 3 of Kwanzaa. The principle of Ujima supports the fundamental assumption that African is not just an identity, but also a destiny and duty, i.e., a responsibility.⠀ ⠀ Everyone’s duty must be a concern with the overall mental, physical and spiritual health of their family and neighbourhood. The well-being of our families and that of our neighbourhoods are bound together and that the success of anyone their lives is an aspect of and dependent on the goodness and health of the community as a whole, confirming the age-old adage, “it takes a village”.⠀ ⠀ Caption reference: TheSource.com ⠀ 📸: Clara Nebeling - BROTHERS⠀ ⠀ #Kwanzaa #Ujima #Swahili #festivecelbration #festiveseason #selfworth #blackhistory #blackculture #africa #alkebulan ⠀ ⠀ (at Kenya) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJWkcxhhOxW/?igshid=1wabj1kvnwhd9
