Listening to this cover the other day inspired me to have Frimomen cover another song by the same songwriters, and the one I chose this time was the 1924 song "Fascinating Rhythm". I'll definitely be using Frimomen for more covers of vintage songs.

While we didn't have the best view of today's eclipse in my area, I did manage to get some decent pictures through the skylight in my house.

door creaks, rectangular form standing in doorway silhouetted against the intermittent flashes of lightning

After looking at the release dates of the Mega Man Battle Network games and seeing how all of them were released in a relatively short amount of time, I decided to look at the release dates of the rest of the Mega Man games and...wow. Capcom really oversaturated the franchise and ran the poor guy into the ground, especially in the 2000s.
By my best estimate, and counting only the main games and spinoffs for consoles, handhelds, pc, and arcade, there are over 60 games total, and about 71 if all the versions of the Battle Network and Star Force games count. Roughly 33 (or 42) games were released between 2000 and 2010, with most of them (about 17 or 26) being connected to the Battle Network and Star Force series. The highest concentration of games I found was between 2003 and 2005, where about 16 (or 20) games were released. Going by just the main games and excluding all the spinoffs, we have 36 games in total with 22 of them bring released in the 2000s.
Between releasing so many games of varying quality in that time, along with other factors such as Inafune leaving Capcom, no wonder Mega Man fizzled out after 2010 with barely any releases (not counting rereleases) since then, and only one of them being a mainline game.

While continuing my journey through the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, this time with the fifth game, it seems the developers didn't learn their lesson from Battle Network 4 and made yet another ridiculous minigame a requirement to beat the game in the form of the samurai minigame, though at least it only felt partially completely rng based in comparison to that soccer minigame. After seeing things like this in two games so far my suspicions of the Battle Network games being rushed during development, especially from 4 onwards, has greatly increased.
