I just wanted to take a moment to honor my cat, Dorothy. Yesterday she went over the rainbow bridge. Her sister woke me up and I found her. She's been sick for a while and the vet couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. She was 14, I'd gotten her when she was about a year old. She's been with me through the hardest times of my life, and now I have to figure out how to get through this without her. Rest in peace my sweet baby.

So I decided to write a Harry Potter story based in a post-Deathly Hallows/Albus Potter generation (I'm ignoring the Cursed Child for multiple reasons) and here's a recap of my characters so far:

We've got the bisexual half-blood grandson of Corban Yaxley who was raised by his single muggle father after his mother (who was disowned by her wizarding family for marrying a muggle) died and is essentially Tom Riddle if he were the good guy (with a mixture of Harry and Sirus thrown in for shits and giggles)

His pansexual Muggleborn Hufflepuff girlfriend who's half Irish half Romani and basically a Hufflepuff version of a combo of Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger

Their best friends Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy, who are dating btw.

And their other best friend Rose Granger-Wesley who's a lesbian and dating the non-binary (AFAB) Ravenclaw anarchist child of Blaise Zabini who causes problems on purpose for the lolz

None of them are straight....

can you believe that we have fanfiction. that we have websites dedicated to fanfiction. that there is a place that you can go and read tens, hundreds, thousands and thousands of pieces of writing that strangers have made. people who are not "writers". people who come home at the end of the day and have feelings and say, i am going to put that into words. i am going to share those words. short, long, sweet, sad, horny, funny, wonderful words. we are all just human and we all love to make and remake and share that with others. can you believe that.

3 Times I Should've Realized I Was a Teratophiliac (Teratophile? idk), But Didn't

I recently learned that some of the crushes I've had over creatures in films wasn't an across the board type of thing in which everyone shared the same thoughts and I thought it was funny and needed to share it.

So let's start with the creature that started it all. This might age me a bit, but who remembers the cartoon Gargoyles? Remember this guy:

Goliath was my first cartoon crush. He was a great leader of the Gargoyles, a fierce warrior and was very stubborn (something I can relate to). He was also incredibly intelligent and hopeful. I didn't realize at the time it was a crush, but this actually sparked my love for gargoyle figurines in which my mother was supportive of because she thought gargoyles were cool.

Next, The Lord of the Rings, specifically this scene:

Just the whole birth of an orc scene left me feeling a type of way and looking back I wonder why I thought that reaction was normal.

Did this also spark my love for DnD so that I could potentially romance an orc? ...shut up.

Finally:

Do I even need to explain myself for this one?

I'm sure the list could go on, but these are really the only ones I can remember off the top of my head, lol.

I thought of this idea a while ago, and if I ever actually get around to writing it, I think I might turn it into a Rhaenicent fic. Because I can totally envision this type of scenario:

*some random nobleperson talking shit about Alicent's kids, calling them bastards*

Viserys, the father of said kids: oh well, haters gonna hate! I'm going back to my lego set.

Meanwhile, Rhaenyra, who know her children are illegitimate but Alicent's are legitimate: If anyone speaks disrespectfully about Queen Alicent's children, I shall rip you apart with my bare hands and feed you to Syrax!

Alicent, who knows her children are legitimate and Rhaenyra's aren't: *softly* thank you wifey.

They would totally adore each others children because they look like the person they love most. Both sets of children grow up thinking they're all siblings and that the other woman is also their mother. Just an all around fluffy fic really.

So, are there any fanfics out there that are AUs where Rhaenyra's children inherited her white hair and Alicent's children inherited her auburn hair? If not, I think that would be an interesting story. Bonus points if because of this no one questions Rhaenyra's children's legitimacy, but they do question Alicent's.
