Damian cannot tell the difference between young Dick and Jason.

Bruce finds every excuse to bring out the family photo album (that he can seemingly pull from thin air). One day, Bruce lends the album to Damian as a way to help him adjust to a normal(ish) childhood, show him what the others did at his age.

Damian doesn't quite get the memo and instead makes copies of the photos of Dick so he can emulate the golden child. That's what Bruce wanted right? For him to be more like Dick? Regardless, Damian now has his own collection of photos, including:

Bruce, tucking a blanket around Dick's shoulders after he fell asleep doing homework. (Taken by Alfred, assumedly).

Dick, with a toy first aid kit, stethoscope and all, 'fixing' Bruce's bruised ribs.

Dick, as Robin, giving a small child a Commemorative Robin Sticker™ to cheer them up.

Dick, not as Robin, helping an old lady cross the street.

Dick, in his Sunday best, next to Jason. Jason is also in his Sunday best, but looking rather unhappy about it. His shirt is already untucked, and his tie has been loosened.

There are more photos of similar situations, all of Dick being a golden child, a role model to Damian.

His favourite is the one of Dick pretending to be a Doctor. He's curious if Dick had a passion for the field, and if so, would he be proud of Damian's goals as well, so he brings it up to Dick one day.

Damian: Richard? Why did you give up?

Dick: *chokes on his cereal* I'm sorry? I gave up on what?

Damian: Your penchant for medical studies. Obviously.

Dick: Little Wing, I don't know what you're talking about to be honest. I never studied to be a Doctor.

Damian: I know that, I was talking about your passion in childhood.

Dick: I... I'm lost here Dames.

Damian: Tch, if I must jog your memory. *Shows him the photo*

Dick: Oh! I remember taking that photo, that would have been years ago now.

Damian: What do you mean? You're in the photo.

Dick: Na, that's Jason!

Damian: w h a t

Damian is told the horrible truth, that every photo he has of Dick, was instead of Todd.

Damian: What about this one, where Todd is showing great disrespect to the Wayne title by dressing like that! (The one where Dick and Jason are both dressed for a gala).

Dick: Damian... That's me on the right. I'm the taller one.

Damian: But... But you would never show such blatant disrespect! You cannot honestly say you were seen in public like... like a hooligan!

Dick: Little Wing, I'm taller than Jason.

Damian: No you are not.

Dick: Yeah, now, but I was 15 and he was 11 in this photo. He hadn't hit his growth spurt yet.

Damian: My life is a lie. Next you are going to tell me this ain't you helping a lady cross the road!

Dick: That was taken 2 weeks ago, that's Tim.

Damian: I wish to return to the League.

He looks kinda done with this world 😂 aber no Rye ist nicht pissed das ist nur sein Gesicht … wahrscheinlich überlegt er ob er noch genügend Essen im Kühlschrank hat oder nach der Arbeit nochmal einkaufen gehen muss. Oder soll er vielleicht doch lieber zuerst nach Hause? Dann könnte er noch mit dem Hund gehen und dann dort auf dem Weg nochmal kurz beim Laden anhalten… so könnte er sich dann auch ein konkretes Bild über den Zustand ihrer Speisekammer machen und muss nicht auf gut Glück die Sachen holen 😂

And Rye nachdem seine Tochter ihn die ganze Zeit genervt hat dass er sich endlich mal wieder rasieren soll weil er mal wieder wie ein Hobo aussieht (aka es gab keine zufriedenstellend Bärte bei dem Picrew but I still love the style):

one of my favorite subtle implications in the series is that it seems the Titan Army was fully banking on Percy being the host of Kronos. Why else would they make their main base a cruise ship if their primary enemy is a son of Poseidon? Named after Andromeda, the wife of Perseus? Why would they work on Oceanus specifically being free so much? Side notably with other children of Poseidon? Why plant Zeus and Hades' items of power on Percy when Luke already had them? Why only Zeus and Hades' items, not Poseidon's? Well because they really need Percy as Kronos' host, that's why. (and Poseidon siding with them because of that would be a bonus as well)

I like to imagine Luke's cabin on the Princess Andromeda is fully decked out with like "WELCOME PERCY" and sea-themed sheets and everything and he hates it so much cause it's a constant reminder he failed and he was Kronos' second choice. Also then he gets his super special pegasus not even exactly stolen by Percy, but the pegasus willingly defects to be Percy's personal steed instead, which must just be insult to injury. Luke has immense one-sided beef with Percy and Percy has no idea.

I feel like chatgpt came around and everyone immediately forgot what they were doing to get stuff done before. like writing centers, extensions, extra help, templates, office hours, beta readers, random generators, and art and writing prompts have all existed for ages. even if you were cheating there's always been sparknotes, photomath, copying, paying someone else to do it, faking that your grandma died, and whatever. all of that stuff is more reliable and doesn't fuck over the planet. and you might actually learn something

Wie wäre es mit drei Funfakts über euren Case 143-Rekruten? ✌️

🌼 Sein Nachname „Summers“ kommt primär daher, dass little Rye und seine Twin Sis im Sommer hinter ner Mülltonne gefunden wurden. Keiner weiß genau wie die beiden Neugeborenen dort hingekommen sind oder wer sie dort ausgesetzt hatte. Deswegen kann auch keiner der beiden sagen wann genau sie Geburtstag haben und welchen Blutstatus sie haben. Aber noch viel wichtiger… keiner weiß wer von den beiden eigentlich älter ist. Eine Debatte die bis zum heutigen Tage immer noch sehr rege diskutiert werden muss.

🌼 Immer wenn Rye zusammen mit seine (Adoptiv-)Mom unterwegs ist wird den beiden gesagt „dass man sofort merkt dass sie ja Mutter und Sohn sind, weil sie sich ja so ähnlich sehen… das selbe Lächeln und die selben Augen ja ja, da sieht man sofort dass die Gene gut durchgekommen sind.“ Sowohl Rye als auch seine Mom finden das sehr amüsierend.

🌼 Rye ist alleinerziehender Vater einer inzwischen 17 Jährigen Tochter die keine Gelegenheit auslässt ihren Dad zu Clown. Sei es wegen der Tatsache dass er alles (und jeden) Adoptieren muss (die zwei Katzen und der eine Hund - kommen nicht von ohne) oder weil er absolut oblivious sein kann wenn man irgendwie versucht ihn auf ein Date einzuladen. Like, Rye braucht manchmal ein bisschen (sehr viel) um zu merken dass man nicht einfach nur „nett“ zu ihm ist sondern weil man was von ihm will. Aber gut seine Dating Erfahrung ist relativ schnell zusammengefasst.

Ich finde es ist mal wieder an der Zeit für eine Picrew-Fragerunde. Und weil wir uns letztens schon so fleißig in Horrorszenarien dargestellt haben, heute wieder was mit Autor*innen-Bezug.

Such dir einen ausdrucksstarken, mienenreichen, deinen allerliebsten Picrew-Maker und erstelle dich und deinen neusten OC, wie ihr aufeinander reagieren würdet. Besties forever? Offensichtlich angenervt? Heimlich verliebt? 😄 Gerne auch mit verschiedenen OCs falls man sich nicht für ein Kind entscheiden kann. 😂

Old but classic hab ich mich für diesen Picrew maker entschieden welcher einfach mein Favorit bleibt mit Derya und Ace als die most recent OCs 😊

Well Derya hat das Vergnügen schon ihren Platz in einer Story gefunden zu haben während Ace noch auf seinen Moment wartet es zu versuchen 😎

Glaube ja dass Derya und ich an sich ziemlich gut zurecht kommen würden. Zumindest in den ersten Momenten wenn wir es bei einer flüchtigen Bekanntschaft belassen 😂 like Derya ist auf jeden Fall gut genug in Social Interactions um meine socially awkward Art auszubalancieren und das Gespräch aufrecht zu erhalten ohne das es seltsam werden würde. Zudem hätten wir beide mal jemandem außerhalb unserer Family mit der wir uns auf Türkisch unterhalten können. Derya würde mich zwar erst ein bisschen auslachen bc my Turkish is horrible but still manageable 😂 aber hey vielleicht könnte sie mir ja helfen besser zu werden 😎 hab nur das Gefühl dann dürfte ich ihr erst einmal Deutsch beibringen bc „something new to learn ✨“

Bei Ace würde ich wahrscheinlich lieber einen kleinen (großen) Sicherheitsabstand halten. Like this is one kind of crazy and manipulative bullshit I don’t wanna touch with a ten meter pole 😂 von der Entfernung aus wäre sein Drama und generell sein Leben sicherlich fun to watch (much tea). Was ich mir eventuell noch vorstellen könnte wo ich nicht gleich die Biege machen würde, wäre wenn wir Arbeitskollegen wären. Like Ace wäre in dem Umfeld wahrscheinlich weitaus „harmloser“ und ich könnte perfekt all den tea and drama aus seinem Leben mitbekommen ohne direkt involviert sein zu müssen. Wir könnten in dem Fall sicherlich gute Work-Tratsch-Kaffee-Colleges werden welche wahrscheinlich uns gegenseitig in ein Koffeinkoma treiben würden (mit dem ganzen Koffein wäre ich auch weitaus gesprächiger). bei Ace würde ich meinen ganzen Tea her bekomme und Ace würde meinen ziemlich trockenen und schwarzen Humor sicherlich zu schätzen wissen 😂 zudem hab ich immer was an Snacks bei meinem Schreibtisch also würden wir wohl Tea gegen Snacks tauschen. Ein fairer Deal wen ihr mich fragt.

Da Ace und ich jedoch in komplett unterschiedlichen Bereichen arbeiten wäre das etwas schwierig zu gestalten 😂

Ok machen wir weiter mit ein paar mehr Oblivion Fragen 👀 (should I be working? yes… buuut… hab gerade ein zwei Minütchen)

Thanksgiving/Christmas/Holiday-whatever Family Edition. Unser Cast ist one happy (or not so happy) Family. Wer besetzt welche Rolle in der kleinen Family 🤭

soo, nachdem es für einige zeit ein wenig still, um uns geworden ist, melden wir uns mal wieder mit ein bisschen oblivion-content. leider hinken wir momentan ein bisschen hinterher und brauchen noch ein wenig, bis wir unseren plot finalisiert haben (klausurenphase und so) deswegen hier wenigstens mal eine - etwas sehr ausführliche - antwort auf diese frage.

sagen wir es mal so: wir hatten ein bisschen zu viel spaß damit🤭 so enjoy the chaotic family-edition of oblivion:

parents¹

🦕 camden - the overwhelmed dad, he somehow looks like he’s in his mid-20s and no one knows how on earth he has three children. always enjoying playing games with the kids and desperately trying not to win (often failing miserably and feeling bad afterwards) he has basically no authority. while his kids never seem to have a problem with it - they basically can do whatever they want - his sister kayla feels the need to put an end to his inconsistent style of education every time she visits and takes over the whole family in a matter of seconds. even camden himself sometimes gets a little scared when kayla orders him to ‘get his act together’. 

☀️ rana - the wholesome mom, she always hosts the holidays at her place cause she is prepared for everything and everyone. more wine? yes. more cookies? yes. beds for 12 people? yes! also her house is such a cozy place that makes you feel at home right away. the only thing she doesn’t provide herself is food but gladly her son and a few other family members are in for the cooking.

she also makes sure that everyone wears matching pyjamas on holiday evenings and has their own slippers with names on it. 

kids¹

👻 nils - the goth son who doesn’t speak to anyone during the gatherings. he’s the oldest, but no one believes it, they all think it’s actually gil. after a few glasses of wine aunt² starts to wonder if he is like ‘crazy or ill or something’ and gets scolded by dad camden for her behaviour. 

he actually isn’t mute at all but annoyed by the drama and the noise the families produce. as soon as there is a moment for him to leave the room he will. if the family starts searching for him they will find him in his room with old headphones on his head and a discman on his chest that was in twenty-something years ago.

📷 gilbert - the middle child. a teen who doesn’t want to be at family gatherings and would rather chill with friends instead. noticing that there is no way of leaving the house on holiday evenings he decided to switch up his game instead - and invites friends to the gathering without his parents knowledge. but rana and camden aren’t against it at all. it’s probably the only time they get to know a bit more about the social life of one of their kids without turning into super-spies.

holidays seem to cure his angry teen-act just a little bit, cause he never feels too cool to help his mom with making tons of food for the whole family. and to be honest - he still looks forward to getting his presents on holidays, even though it kinda hurts to know that the best-present-receiving-age will never come back.

🐢 adana - the youngest child. next to her brothers she seems like a little child, despite her being (nearly) a teen herself. due to seating issues - thanks to gil’s unannounced guests - she still has to sit on a kids chair from time to time. something that doesn’t sit quite right with her, especially cause her brothers got to switch to the ‘big boy chairs’ a lot sooner. but thanks to her small size it actually isn’t the worst outcome of the situation. it just hurts her pride a bit. 

she’s always the last of the siblings who gets to go to their room but always the first to actually sleep.

relatives¹

🚙 josephine - honorary wine aunt - she never drank in her life, but just gives of those vibes to everyone which is why everyone was super surprised when she didn’t touch the drinks the first time she came to the party. she’s actually not related to anyone in the family and no one knows where she even came from, she just appeared and never left. so it’s simply easier to just call her aunt. the first few times she actually got along great with michelle, but they since had a fallout - though nobody really knows what happened and they’re at least able to be in the same room, but don’t talk to each other at all. but not showing up would mean losing which they both won’t accept.

❄️ nieves - the first time visitor. nieves is the not-so-long-term-relationship of middle child gil. when he asked her to come over, she wasn’t expecting his whole family, including his aunt and her relatives, to look at her the same confused way she looked at them.

nieves was already about to do a 180 and sprint back into the night when rana greeted her with the warmest of all hugs and invited her in to eat and celebrate with the family. it still feels kinda weird but nieves likes to get to know this different side of her boyfriend. while his brother - even tho they are on the same school she didn’t know they were related at all - is a bit hard to assess, she actually kinda vibes with gil’s little sis.

but still. being home for holidays in a different family that didn’t knew of her cause gil obviously doesn’t talk about his (girl)friends - he is a cool teen duh - is kinda scary

parents²

🐶 kayla - the strict “single” mom that actually has the biggest heart. she cares deeply for her family and would do anything for them. kayla runs her family like a well-oiled machine, and if you mess with the system, you better have a damn good reason. beneath her seemingly tough exterior she’s actually the backbone of the entire family(-gathering) and looks out for everyone. her version of affection isn’t always soft - it’s making sure you eat, making sure you don’t ruin your life, making sure you know better.

she won’t coddle, but she’ll be the first to catch you when you fall. technically, she’s “single.” realistically? alice has been around so long that no one really knows where she came from anymore. their relationship status is both an open secret and none of your business.

🦉 alice - the “good friend” kayla once just brought along and never left, so she’s now considered the second mom. as an army veteran, alice supports kayla’s strict form of education. she doesn’t try to overshadow her at all when it comes to the kids - in every other aspect of life, the two women are constantly challenging each other to such an intensity that the remaining adults sometimes choose to just leave the room instead of trying to calm the two down.

alice is quite smart and always willing to discuss every topic possible with the rest of the family. she also loves to educated the kids on anything army related. even tho rana and camden aren’t big fans of the army themselves.

as a little drill sergeant alice always ensures that everyone takes their dishes back to the kitchen and helps cleaning before leaving the room or the house. it’s not only thanks to kayla but also thanks to her that liam and leilana are such well behaved kids.

kids²

🗡️ liam - the oldest of all the kids. kayla's golden child. he seems to be quite similar to his mom. he seems to be good in everything. liam just started college this year and his mom still feels the need to tell everyone that her son got every scholarship out there. 

liam outshines all his cousins who are kinda annoyed by his ‘I am an adult now’ behaviour while his younger sister, leilana, seems to be impressed by everything liam talks about. he feels like he is one of the adults now - and he does act more mature than his uncles from time to time - but he still doesn’t get invited to the adult-wine-talks.

🌺 leilana - the younger sibling who is the same age as her male cousins. while they have to deal with a lot of stress and changes regarding their personalities and what they think about the world and themselves, leilana has no time to be in puberty at all. she is the golden child #2. an all a’s student who tries to be ahead of the class in every single subject. and she is, cause she is an absolut smartass. sometimes a bit too smart, cause even the adults seem to sometimes lose grip on the topic leilana talks about. 

alice is the only one that never ever stops challenge her ‘daughter’s’ intellect and tries to keep up with her at all time. she wants leilana to not feel superior cause she loves the calm and modest young woman she is and doesn’t want to risk her changing. 

relatives²

💄 michelle - the actual wine aunt - definitely not only in spirit, she wouldn’t get through the entire evening without booze. she was really close with josie, but after their fallout simply ignores her entire existence. lowkey she actually hates to be there and is just there to not loose to josie. she would never say it out loud (and is also not admitting it to herself still), but she does kinda enjoy the company and the chaoticness of the gatherings. when she’s not at the bar she usually hangs out with rana (and camden - this usually ends up in a silent argument with josie). 

recently she started talking more to leilana, which to the surprise of everyone seems to work out. while leila knows the most random facts, michelle is the person that somehow knows everything about everyone - even their seemingly darkest secrets. 

🦈 santiago - the uncle that is kinda related to the family but even kayla and alice don’t seem to know exactly how. if they remember correctly he is the son of an aunt that never really kept contact to her family due to sudden wealth. and tiago now wants to learn more about his roots. or maybe he’s just a billionaire send by god to bring joy to the families. the only thing important is that his blood isn’t important at all. it’s his spirit and the family loves it. tiago is the mood maker and center of every party. bad tongues could call him an attention whore but the family is very glad to have him cause he is always able to get a good party started. in addition to that, tiago also knows how to include everyone. he is the only one who is able to find an activity everyone wants to join. not only the golden kids but also their special cousins. 

tiago is famous for his incredible and expensive - but not overly thoughtful - gifts. he loves to give a present to every member of the family and leaves them speechless more than once. not only due to the value of the presents but also the missing thought behind the things. despite, everyone loves him and in earlier years the kids were more excited for him to show up than for santa himself. also his cooking is out of this world and his pastries could be sold for thousands.

Tay, Lark, Yūhei und Gus (ebenso Val, je nachdem wie man Aphrodite zählt) wären theoretisch Cousins (Ihre göttlichen Elternteile sind alle Kinder des Zeus, je nach Quelle)

Wie man bei Vlads Charakterseite schon sieht, sind Cora und Irene seine Cousinen, sogar auf “normalen” Wege ohne irgendwelche Inzestgeschichten wuhu 🥳

Eos hat zu keinen ein Verwandtschaftsverhältnis, außer man rechnet Aphrodite aus “Tochter” des Uranos, der wiederum der Großvater von Eos ist :’) Somit könnte man Kiiya und Val eine Verwandtschaft anrechnen.

Was ich aber sehr unterhaltsam finde, ist, dass es eine Erzählung gibt, nach der Aphrodite eifersüchtig reagierte, nachdem Eos mit Ares anbandelte und sie Eos deshalb mit einer unstillbaren Begierde nach sterblichen Männer strafte. So ist Eos dazu verdammt, dass sie sich immer nach Männern umsieht, wenn sie mit ihrem Wagen über den Himmel zieht, Das erfüllt sie mit so viel Scham, dass sie errötet, was wiederum auch den Himmel rot werden lässt. 

Sieht man sich nach dem Geburtsdatum den Wochentag an, so sind die meisten disaster demigods geboren am:

♦️ Derya stammt ursprünglich aus einer Hafenstadt an der Ägäisküste genau gegenüber der griechischen Insel Lesbos, wo ihre Familie ein kleines Bed & Breakfast nahe dem Hafens betreibt. In ihrer Kindheit und Jugend musste Derya dort sehr oft aushelfen.

♦️ Mit einer türkischen Mutter und einem griechischen Vater hatten Derya und ihre Geschwister stets Probleme, in den Rest ihrer Familie hineinzupassen. Für die eine Seite waren sie “zu türkisch” während die andere sie stets als “zu griechisch” wahrgenommen hatten. Doch da sowohl Vater und Mutter die Kultur und Sprache ihrer Familie weitergeben wollten, mussten die Geschwister steht in beiden exzellente Ergebnisse vorbringen.

♦️ Als Jugendliche haben Derya und ihre Freunde öfter einmal ein paar eher fragwürdige Mutproben gemacht. Seien es Klippenspringen an gefährlichen Orten oder am Strand die ein oder anderen Touristen beklauen, die ihre Habtümer unbeaufsichtigt im Sand liegen gelassen hatten.

♦️ Sie ist eigentlich in die USA ausgewandert, um dort Medizin zu studieren. Zwei Jahre lang hat sie diesen Plan auch verfolgt, bis sie weiter und weiter in die Spielsucht gefallen ist und beim Glücksspiel ihr gesamtes Geld verloren hat. Mit der Zeit hat sie sich weiter und weiter in Unmengen an Schulden hineingeschlittert, wodurch Derya nicht mehr in der Lage war ihre Studiengebühren oder gar ihre Miete zu bezahlen.

♦️ Derya ist absolut in love with her “Little princess”. Eine Ratte, die sie vor einem Jahr auf der Straße gefunden hatte, nachdem sie nach einer durchgemachten Nacht im Müll wieder aufgewacht ist. Aber nachdem sie so mit dem größten Kater im Müll lag und little Princess dabei beobachtete, wie sie an einem halb angeschimmelten Burger nagte, dachte sie nicht lange nach und schnappte sich das kleine Nageltier. Seitdem versucht sie, diese zu domestizieren. Immerhin mussten zwei Ratten doch zusammenhalten.

♦️ Der einzige Grund, weshalb sie noch nicht auf der Straße gelandet ist, ist ihr bester Freund und Co-Worker, welcher so gnädig war und sie bei sich auf der Couch hat crashen lassen. Und das nun seit knapp 2 Jahren.

♦️ Ihre Familie hatte ihr als Kind den Spitznamen “Tombiş” gegeben, was soviel wie “Dickerchen” bedeutet und auch wenn der Spitzname eher liebevoll gemeint war hatte vor allem Teen Darya immer ein bisschen damit zu kämpfen den Spitznamen nicht als Beleidigung und Kritik an ihrem Gewicht anzusehen.

♦️ Sie ist das, was passiert, wenn man die Intelligenz und Charisma maximiert, dabei aber vergisst auch mal die Weisheit hoch zu schrauben. Dadurch fällt sie öfters einmal eine schlechte Entscheidung nach der anderen.
