Viking navigators relied on the North Star, also known as Polestar or Polaris, to chart the direction of their routes at night.

To locate the Polaris, find the Big Dipper. The two stars at the end of the Dipper's "cup" point the way to Polaris,

which is the tip of the Little Dipper's handle, or the little bear's tail in the constellation Ursa Minor.

Tangerine Days A little late for the scbwi monthly prompt, this is for november's "nerd", I made 2 variants to play with the white space and font for a more book-oriented layout, I personally like the one with the poem incorporated but friends have told me they still prefer the full illustration, what do you think?

this week I'd like to share a character I'm working on for a picture book project, this project is at the bottom of my list of "to-dos" but I hope to get it done or close to being done, sometime in the 4th quarter of 2024.
