My CC is trans, and if you put it in your game, your game is now trans. Thems the breaks. That goes for hair retextures, object recolors, literally anything that I make, I make it from a position of gender inclusivity, and love for my community. Someone else using my resources to make their own CC? Still trans. You cannot separate my content from my inherent transness. I love you trans women I love you trans men I love you nonbinary people I love you people who are so gender and people who are no gender and people who are some gender and people who are indifferent to gender. Petition: Dedicated TS1 download section on MTS.

With the release of the Legacy collection, the original The Sims game has seen a resurgence in its modding scene. While much of the modding community is currently located in places like Tumblr or specialized sites such as Simblr.cc, most sites don't have the sort of infrastructure, history, or community that MTS does. 

While other sites such as TSR had a section for The Sims, they've recently locked them and prohibited new submissions. Additionally, TSR has a history of being driven primarily by profit while MTS is almost entirely driven my fans. It seems wrong that one of the oldest, and most established, Custom Content aggregate sites doesn't have it's own dedicated section for The Sims as so much of the games' original custom content from the 2000s disappears. 

MTS having its own section would make it one of the only custom content aggregate sites to have a functioning download section for the original game.

I do like how EA hasn't said anything about what exactly the TS1/TS2 thing actually entails whatsoever, despite it supposedly being released tomorrow (Friday).

Like the promotional website just says "The Sims 25" with images/audio/video from TS1 & TS2. Even the "?" icon in the lower corner just says the website is "dedicated to the early days of Sims" with no other information - Well other than "see more on our socials," which amounts to an image that says "time travel."

Anadius is the one who said it's a re-release, but that's literally the only thing that's actually known. There's nothing about how much will they cost, how extensively did they update the compatibility/stability, does it actually contain all EPs/SPs...

I guess the less you know beforehand, the less you have to be disappointed about lol - At least I figure that's what EA's goal is, but re-releasing two of the best selling and most influential video games ever made in history comes with expectations no matter what you do or don't say about it.

why are people saying that they're finally able to play ts1 and ts2 again soon? the installers exist, you'll be spending money on stuff that you can have for free with community fixes.

i just love that the EA app has apparently been down for over an hour, preventing people from playing their games, thus perfectly demonstrating why a rerelease that binds you to said app would not be "convenient" in the slightest

My honest reaction to the rereleases.

I'm seeing a lot of people lately going on about how hopeful they are for a sims 2 re-release and xyz reasons why they think one is coming...

Now I'm not normally such a negative-nancy but I really truly doubt EA are doing that. They don't care about us, point blank. At least, they definitely would not just do it out of the goodness of their hearts. They would only remotely consider it if they could make a boat load of money doing it and in that scenario I can't see a world where they don't somehow make it worse absolutely ruin our beloved game.

Quite frankly I'm okay with continuing to jump through all the hoops we do on modern machines to get to play. I actually kind of don't want a re-release or EA's grubby little mitts anywhere near the most important thing in my life. I just don't trust them.
