My name is Fernando Myburgh. I’m 16 years old, and I’m writing this message with hope in my heart and a strong will to work. My family and I currently live in a care centre for the homeless in Pretoria. It’s not easy, but we still believe that with hard work and kindness, things can change.

I’m looking for any opportunity to work on a farm — any kind of job. I’m not afraid of starting at the bottom. I can do welding and woodwork, and I have a deep passion for agriculture. I’ve always been good with my hands and I’m eager to learn any trade or skill if someone is willing to teach me.

My dream is to help my family get out of the care centre and start a better life. My mother, Tammy, has also been trying to find work, but it’s been very hard. She is experienced in admin and cleaning, and just like me, she’s open to learning something new if someone would just give her a chance.

We are not asking for much — only for the opportunity to work and a small room or place to stay while we get back on our feet. We don’t want to be a burden. We want to earn our way forward and one day have a small place of our own to call home.

We’re willing to move anywhere with assistance. I’m just asking — please, if you have a place for us, if you can give us a chance to prove ourselves, please consider helping.

We still have hope. We still have heart. We just need someone to believe in us enough to open a door.
