i always wonder what bands would be like if their lineups hadn’t changed

what would metallica sound like if cliff hadn’t died, or jason never left, or even dave hadn’t been kicked out?

what would mayhem have done if euronymous and pelle not died?

what would it be like if slipknot hadn’t replaced joey with jay?

so many bands could have ended up completely different than they are known today and it’s always interesting to think about what could have been

I was looking at the moon on the way to school this morning and thought about the rover that’s up there right now. Such a small little machine there all alone, trundling across the dusty expanse. The hand of science millions of miles away. If it could think would it be lonely? Afraid? Or proud of the work it is doing? But it can’t think, only follow commands and collect samples. And yet something about its existence makes me feel a connection, a wish for it to return home safely. Its responsibility is in our hands. We created this machine and we must make sure it will come back to us. So I look up at the moon and think of the rover all alone, trundling across the dusty expanse, and wish it well on its journey.
