Day2_230727
Dang, another one filled with existential dread and not a lot of productivity. Woke up early to try to get a jump start on things and got a headache instead.
Pros:
tons of good advice and reassurance (and just straight up problem solving done for me) from the PhDs and post-docs today
feeling somewhat reassured that this is hard and new to me and I can't know everything immediately
advanced notice on canceled meetings tomorrow?? maybe I can trick myself into getting something done
Cons:
I feel like I need to redo all the analysis I was hoping to have wrapped up and ready for review by tomorrow. I guess I'd rather have something good a bit late then something garbage now? or am I killing the good by wanting perfection
the continuing heat is making me insane
Alright, well here's to tomorrow being better

Day1_26072023
Summer research is proving to be the worst because of the lack of schedule. It’s not the lack of things to do, just the lack of structure around the days. There are still meetings, but they are impromptu and I often find myself ill-prepared. If there weren’t obligations with other people, would I be better about creating structure for myself?
Here’s to hoping that documenting my journey around productivity will help me improve it.
