Patience
Waiting is only an option you choose to accept. Utilize your mind while you have to "wait" in line. Observe your surroundings and search for art and life. Open up this opportunity to take a self survey, put your needs in order. We sometimes go too fast in life and when we need to slow down we struggle. I find observation of my surroundings can help time flow easily and maintain a calm mind, whereas the person behind me could be having a tantrum inside.

Follow yourself
Listen to your body. If you're hungry, then eat. If you are bored and just want to indulge with a snack that isnt a decision based on what your body needs. This has to apply to everything my body needs and wants. If we grow impatient and force pleasure we dive into realms of greed. Practice being driven by what the body actually needs and you'll find yourself doing much less regrettable actions and develop a stronger self esteem and confidence. Control yourself, you steer the ship.

Let it go
We grab onto situations that wronged us and hold onto them with a tight grip. Freeing yourself from attachment frees you from the anxiety and stress of those who trespass against you. You truly own nothing in this world, our life is a visitation. Everything is temporary and will not be with you forever, or matter. Start with letting go of smaller events and work your way up to the larger ones. Over time the initial shock and reaction will change and you will approach these unfortunate events with optimism and truth.

Gratitude
Being grateful for the people in your life and the roof over your head and the food you enjoyed today is wonderful. We can zoom in on our gratitude though. We can be grateful for every insect doing its purpose for the environment, or for all the trees providing us with oxygen, or the sun for providing us with heat and light today. We can be grateful for so much more the more we think deeper and deeper. Life is endless gratitude, show your respect all throughout your day.

Every moment counts
Every moment we go through is a gift. We may find ourselves in some pretty dull moments but allow that to be a time of openness and tranquility. We will find ourselves in moments that make us feel so good and we fight to get those moments as much as possible. We must remember that life is a balance and these moments are passing momentarily. Thus when we find ourselves in a darker moment that seems to overwhelm your emotions just remember like the good moments these will pass. Observe and accept every moment.

Expectations
Everyone walks around with expectations of others. We expect people to stop and allow a pedestrian to walk while driving, we expect our food handlers to wash their hands, we expect so many small but important things. These expectations come with respect for one and another. Once we forget to appreciate the small expectations we begin to demand more. We start to form expectations on our peers to help make your life easier, and if that expectation isnt met we can become angry, confused, or even hurt! Find a balance of expectations with your friends, family, lover, colleagues, and strangers. Once the standard ia set in balance it is easier to accept mistakes and rudeness from others. Everyone is learning. Expecting what you put out isn't always rewarded, be patient.

We need to listen as much as we can. Hear people. Some people speak without thinking and there's many who really think about which words to use. By taking the time to listen to everyone we encounter with full focus we will learn so much more. Appreciate the ability to hear sounds.

Accepting pleasure and pain
We go through our lives taking care of our bodies and mind daily. We always work towards being better and being ok in this moment. Life isnt ok all the time. Sometimes by having routines that bring pleasure in our lives we become interrupted by something that's painful or just negative. Some things are out of our control and we must learn to adapt and accept. Some even embrace a painful headache and refrain from grabbing a tylenol at the first signs of a head ache. This is about accepting all the feelings we go through.

Accept what we cant control
Let go of the things you cant control. Problems will always surface in life. We spend all our time learning and moving forward. We become attached to the idea of learning and knowing how to act for future problems, however there will always be the ones out of your control. Work on your reaction when life throws these at you. Slow yourself and observe the options, when nothing can solve the situation we must learn to accept it.

Perceptions can twist and turn what could have been beautiful to harmful. Understanding how personal perception is allows us to accept what's not our own. Take the time to find the larger picture and what influences the change for the better. Putting others first seems like you will be left behind but karma is here to maintain the balance.
