This frame makes me feral.

the way her eyes aren't too wide nor too closed, like i can actually feel the concern and genuine worry rather than it just being shock.

It makes me so sad that Ambessa loves her so much but still lacks the ability to show it properly, she never learns.

This is the only scene where we have her being eye-to-eye with Mel, in a near embrace with her hand at her cheek, like a parent checking if their little child is okay after falling.

And the fact that she stays there for a moment, perhaps to relish that feeling for a couple of seconds before getting serious with the enforcers, because Mel IS her weakness, and she forces herself to pry away.

"Caitlyn is the daughter Ambessa wanted" Ambessa would never accept a daughter who was so easy to manipulate. the only thing Ambessa didn't like in Mel was her aversion to violence. Caitlyn's propensity towards it doesn't make up for all that she lacks that Mel has: diplomacy, experience, and the ability to tell when someone's playing you like a cheap harmonica
