And secend I think its a wild theory but I think Sonic is going to get the others in his own different ways to kinda manipulate them, Amy with kindness, Knuckles just.....knuckles ig. Well yeah smth like that.

ok hear me out. ROBO-SONIC IS THE WRONG SONIC! It's another sonic pretending to be evil in order to 'fix' things for this sonic, but its getting out of hand and the helping is hurting a little too much (friends are a distraction to the greater good, you know, smart decisions). or I'm completely wrong, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why did Robo-Sonic save Amy?

U.T. rises from scrapped machine parts. “I care about your wellbeing.” Then falls into the incinerator.

The two look at each other, confused for a second, but don’t question it.

Fun fact, actually, when Eggman takes over Tails' robots in "Robot Battle Royale" using Hypno-bot, U.T. is among the robots meaning it is likely Tails salvaged U.T. after Sticks kicked him off Eggman's Island. 😁

Now here's what confuses me. If I remember correctly, you said that Robo-Sonic is still Sonic. So it's not like that's being taken over. Something else, an entity doesn't control him. Can we then say... Sonic's deepest negative emotions came to the top... Only negative. Everyone has it, after all, but it doesn't happen alone or at the top. The deepest and most hidden negative emotions. Because if it's Sonic, I think that's why he can act like this... And yes, Eggman has control over him, but he's still Sonic after all.

I think where a lot of you are getting tripped up is in thinking being Sonic and not being Sonic are mutually exclusive ideas.

Actually, is he a robot? Would android be a better word? Questions for later.

Robot and Android are used interchangeably for bipedal mechanical lifeforms. Android, however, refers exclusively to a human-like/bipedal machine. An android is a robot but a robot is not necessarily an android. Robo-Sonic's full name is Robot Sonic, so I would stick with calling him a Robot. (Just don't call him Robonic, he hates that. Sounds too much like some other guys name).

It can be difficult to gather the team together to answer questions like this. @multiisketch (hello!) answers asks most of the time so if you're curious about @star-stages and @mama-qwerty's personal interests rather than their work on SBR, you can shoot and ask over to their personal blogs when their ask boxes are open.

Don't be afraid to gush at them here about their coloring and writing, respectively, though!

As to your second question, my favorite dynamic is tied between Tails & Sticks and Sonic, Tails, & Knuckles as a trio. Tails and Sticks have that polar opposites/youngest of the crew sorta relationship where they are both hyper intelligent in their respective fields. Tails being adept at technology, Sticks being adept at nature. They make a fun team! Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles in Boom have such a "one braincell" dynamic. Some of the best episode are the ones where the three of them are allowed to get up to shenanigans'. Especially with each of them trading the straight man role back and forth depending on the situation!

Eggman's dynamic with Dave is also pretty funny.

Great start with issue 3. Excited your back.😁 I already have so many thoughts about this.

So i´m wondering what´s going on in Robo Sonics mind. 🤔He did save Amy. Is it because Sonic is influencing fake Sonics emotions? He may know on some level what´s going on. Seeing Amy in danger would make him want to help her. If fake Sonic is able to be influenced subtly then that could be the reason he did it. 

He looks conflicted. I think it could be because he has his own hatred and feelings of distrust toward his friends but also because Sonic still cares a lot about them. If that´s actually influencing him it´s creating conflict within his mind. We don´t know if fake Sonic is an AI or split personality of Sonic. The AI could still have taken some parts of Sonic that cares about his friends while it was being created. He only got angry after they accidently hurt him thinking they did it on purpose. Refusing to believe otherwhise.

If Sonics personality got split with the negative traits creating fake Sonic, then he can still have a part in him that cares about his friends. Obviously Sonic would care more about them then the fake Sonic would. 

Memories are also a factor. Good things he remembers about his friends despite the betrayal could influence his feelings about them. Causing him to save Amy. But memories can also trigger Sonic making him wake up and try to take back controll. Or at the very least influence fake Sonic.

Robo Sonic has more of a chance to think right now since Eggman isn´t there to shout orders that override his thoughts. Also giving Sonic more of a chance to fight back for controll. Giving orders to Robo Sonic is actively repressing Sonic. Sonic is in a comatose repressed state. I still think there could be a way to trigger him to wake up. Seeing his friends in danger could be a way to trigger him to wake up and fight back. Does being repressed mean he is the subconcious right now? Is that how he is still able to subtly influence Robo Sonic even in his repressed comatose state?🤔

Yes, like someone mentioned before, Sonics eyes on that one panel! I’m literally obsessed.

The longer I’m looking at it the more I see here. Resignation? Sadness? Hurt cause he still feels like they betrayed him - but he still can’t just let it go? Or something like: “I would like to come back to them but it’s too late anyways”? Like he still remembers being their friend, there’s still feelings for them but the robotics belief of being superior outshines everything else now? Or maybe he’s thinking he’s better off alone, but the old memories lingers in him?

I may be completely wrong but the speculating is half of the fun of reading SBR :D

I love all of these theories and think you guys are really gonna love every single update of this issue when it comes to speculation given how obsessed you all have gotten over this one panel 😁😎

Wow, Eggman's base is falling apart. Bit concerning that the walkway collapsed like that.

He likes to think of it as a feature. To deter unwary travellers not reading the signs.

I was just thinking about how odd it was for Robo Sonic to save Amy and one panel in particular was really making me wonder how the personality of Sonic is still there and its the eyes.

Those eyes don't seem like they're filled with hatred or annoyance towards Amy or wanting to fight her. It seems like the type of eyes that are just done with the world. The squinty eyes and the way they don't just look like they're filled with rage (I would imagine the eyes would be a lot more slanted) and the thing is that also surprised me is that Robo-Sonic didn't immediately start chasing Amy.

It seems like he's tired of chasing them around, and maybe he feels the shackles that Sonic has around him are now starting to get to himself as well

Or he could've just saved her to turn her into a robot instead, who knows?

I love how much a lot of you are obsessing over this panel because I was very particular when I drew it. There is a LOT you can unpack from it, haha!

Robo-Sonic has his goals. Like everything in life, there's always a bigger picture to consider...

Is that a Shadow android/doll? 😆 Also the robot head to the left of it reminds of the Pokemon Dracovish.

The Shadow Doll! Why is he in the trash? When was he put there? Why did Eggman have one in the first place? So many questions!

Now that you mention it, the Chomper head does kind of look like a Dracovish...
