Rest in peace, Chatlotte Fosgate.

Charlotte was a 17 year old girl who was a modder in the Sonic community. Unfortunately, she took her own life recently.

From her obituary:

“Born in 2007, Charlotte was a bright, compassionate, and creative young woman who touched the lives of many. A student with a love for art, music, and literature, Charlotte had a gentle soul and a unique way of seeing the world. Her empathy and kindness drew others to her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.”

Sadly, this is something that is far too common in the trans community. Charlotte was a trans girl and she struggled with severe mental health issues.

While many offered their sympathy after her death, some transphobic people posted hateful comments celebrating.

It is tragic that people are unable to openly be themselves without being afraid of others not accepting them. I hope that one day things will be better.

If you know people that are trans, gay, and/or struggle with depression or anxiety, or anything else make sure to let them you know that you are there for them and support them, and that they can always talk to you about anything.

If you are dealing with any of this yourself, then know that you are not alone, and there are always people that care about you and that you can talk to, even if you don’t realize it. Your life matters, and it is special and unique, so be yourself and never give up.
