My body is a site of knowledge It knows more about me than my mind does It is a site of knowledge which feels synonymous with being a site of trauma Trauma I still don’t know how to claim as mine Trauma that sits in the bottom of my stomach Trauma that I carry everywhere, under lining all my sentences with a red zig zag Trauma that I think doesn’t affect me but shapes every second of how I continue to experience the world It’s lost on me It’s everywhere It’s trapped and trying to escape My body is trying to soothe me My body is so terrified because I am terrified still Trauma tricks my body, loves my body, protects my body too much my mind just wants to live my body cannot relax There is a Disconnect a dissonance an imbalance I am trying to get back to my future I am trying to reconnect, find the balance, soften the harshness, be less afraid of the fears The fears will remain for a while or it might not too, either way I have to figure out how to release any power I have given them they can exist and not hurt me they can exist and not control me they can exist and confuse me less A few months ago I was in tears because I needed Clarity and i am still looking for it and that’s okay
