every night i lay awake thinking aboyt how Lilith had to trans Tang Xuan/Tang Mei's gender because it was impossible for WuKong's avatar to be a woman

And I think about pre-transition Xuan still being chosen by WuKong and all his relatives being surprised because, the monkey king only chooses boys and men as champions!

And they're right! Gods don't make mistakes, this gives the Xuan the courage to come out to his family and start transition so he can finally live as himself, even if it means leaving his family and his little brother for a while, because they still see him as Mei and he can't live like that.........

(maybe you've seen her a few days ago i had to fix the drawing and text, her neck was so long she looked like she had evolved to reach high savannah foliage that was scandalous)

anyway i put my whole ass into this drawing, it's fully rendered and detailed to my best capacity,,,,,it took me an embarassingly long time to finish,,,,,,,,,,,,, i hope to improve with time

Oh no, I fully agree that Yamato was the one who planned absolutely everything but to me it really seemed like she was on board with the plan, I think it's the way Yamato knew she'd kill him that made me think that. Maybe he could have guessed that she'd do it but her lack of surprise at being freed from the music box and the way she had 0 hesitation or anything , it really felt like she was in on it to me, and that both siblings had planned things together? Aaaaah idk maybe I'm trying to see yamato as a better brother than he really is T^T

even though i gotta say, even if she was manipulated all along, getting the kill at least, seemed like her own actions/free will ( i'm sorry for rambling but imagine controlling urself around your abuser for DECADES and building up all that anger and resentment and still letting your little sister be the one that gets physical revenge??? maybe i'm talking out of my ass bc i would have loved to beat my abuser my the gesture felt so very loving to me??? i'm 100% sure that yamato would have enjoyed killing kokuzan himself too, but then again, maybe seeing him getting duped and surprised by yuuhime was more satisfying 🤔)

I honestly love what Lilith did with Yuuhime's character because she's so obviously princess-coded, she's a damsel in distress that needs a hero to save her, and we have Tang Xuan, little sunshine, he is made for the job! But it turns out he's not the protagonist, he's just part of a plot greater than him. Like, sure, it's Yamato's scheme, *he* plans on being the hero of their story, but when he struggles against Kokuzan it's Yuuhime who gets to kill him, she gets the last word, she gets to be her brother's and her own savior and I really like this

Well, if we forget the part about yamato using the music box 😐 I wish we got a sequel to Sea of Sorrows, I really want to see how Yuu is doing and what's happening in her life, we know her bro's busy now that he's the head of the Twilight Order (Emo Edgy Ass Name btw, this guy is a Naruto fan and thought Akatsuki was soooo cool) *ahem* but is Yuuhime really caged/manipulated ? Is she 'free' but watched by Yama to make sure nothing happens to her, was it just for the drama and is she just chilling freely ? I really want to know aaaaaa

yamaxuan is THE toxic yaoi ship because yamato is just, a charming, pretty man with manipulative tendencies but he's like this because of years of abuse and trauma and Tang Xuan is litteral sunshine, he is heroism incarnate he leaves no one behind, he wanted to save Yuuhime as soon as he realized what was happening (no one had even attempted to help them before) and he's compassionate and understanding but he's not getting stepped on he will not take abuse silently in the name of greater good, he could put yamato in his place while still behind understanding of his background, his issue with yamato lies with his controlling tendencies (he refuses to let go of his sister because he sincerly believes the world is danger and there is safety only in the cage he created for them) but xuan never went though the trauma the siblings had to endure and yamato resents his for this, because who is he to pretend to know better when his life has always been easy, who is he to play hero when he and his sister needed one so long ago, xuan cant just show up after years of suffering once the job is done and pretend to play hero, he wasnt there when yamato needed him, now he is reluctant to let anyone near his own cage and xuan knows he still needs to free him, even if he is dangerous and cornered, even if it'll get him wounded like a feral cat hissing biting and scratching because it is afraid of rescue but if xuan gets bitten it might probably fester and rot and what i mean is he CAN FIX HIM but it WILL cost him his own wellbeing
