Remember that scene in the first movie when Tom and Sonic were in the hotel and Sonic wanted to do all the things so Tom was like "Ok anything you can find to do in this room, you go ahead and do it."

And then Sonic took like two seconds to look around before it cut to him just all over the place doing a million things at once all while Tom is just sitting there with his ice pack trying to see what's going on

I wanted to make a list of all the things I can see that Sonic did because the more I see, the funnier it gets

had a pillow fight with himself

balanced on one foot on top of the wall light while wearing a lampshade on his head

climbed into the dresser drawer and tried to explore the inside and got stuck in it

grabbed a tissue box and tore every single one out and threw them everywhere

clicked through every single TV channel there was

stood on top of the toilet and flushed it a million times with his foot

went running around with a toilet paper roll and left it strung everywhere

spilled water on the bathroom floor and went sliding around in his socks

spun the picture on the wall around in circles over and over

knocked the lamp over

took a shower

The kids I was babysitting today were watching Sonic X and we stumbled upon one of my favorite Sonic moments in the English dub

(at dinner, the human adults are trying to teach the Mobian kids about table etiquette)

Chris: "My mom says it's important to learn good manners so we can eat properly!"

Sonic, reclining in his chair: "Well, I never learned anything about manners and I've been eating my whole life!" *loudly chomps into an apple*

😂 look at him. Sassy child

Bonus: I love how all the Mobian kids have to sit in booster seats because they're just so darn tiny 🥹

slightly random timing but I made some slight changes to the Enchanted cover so here's a repost of it

Not TOTALLY random timing, the most recent chapter was like a week and a half ago (which unfortunately means recent for this fic bc these chapters take months to update usually) BUT I just started writing the next chapter tonight!!! And I got about 600 words already! Outline for this next one is already finished I believe. 💙🩷💥 I don't normally wait that long to start the next one, but I JUST got back from a very busy week at a conference type thing.

Anyway the changes I made to this cover were pretty simple; I just added little transparent sleeves onto Amy's dress because the image was dancing in my brain, and then put the boys' color-coding concert jackets on them. It got brought up again in the most recent chapter and I was like "well there's one way I could make the cover look more interesting... even though it's on AO3 which doesn't do covers..." ah well lol, I do what I want

I also touched up the lighting rendering stuff on Tails a bit. I want so bad to fix up Robotnik but the layers are arranged so weirdly that it'd be CRAZY difficult. (There were over 80 layers in this. I condensed a bunch of them after the fact, but yeah)

OKAY WHERE DO I START

(it's not like I have a file in my notes packed solely with my own private rambling about how much I love it)

the animation is INSANELY detailed and so beautiful/fun to watch

the expressions are IMMACULATE

for not being the og voice cast, the voices are near PERFECT for each character

Sonic is literally so cute in it??? 🥹💙💙💙

Shadow's characterization is PEAK

it quite literally and figuratively breaks down each of his friends and highlights different aspects of who they are deep down via the different variants per shatterspace

it was a creative exploration of "what ifs." Examples: what if Sonic wasn't around to stop Eggman? What if Tails never met Sonic?

the soundtrack is both fun and gorgeous

Sonic's absolute adoration of his friends and undying, sacrificial love for them is on peak display

the way almost every character got character development over the show at different paces?? Thorn Rose, Dread, Nine, Knux and Rebel, even Sonic himself kinda!

THE WAY HIS LOVE FOR ALL OF THEM ENDED UP WINNING THEM ALL OVER AS HIS FRIENDS AS WELL EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER MET HIM BEFORE THIS???

it stands as a clear portrayal of why he believes so strongly in second chances; almost every single variant in this show fought him and was violent towards him at some point at least, and yet they all came to love him as much as he loved them to the point that DID YOU SEE HOW THEY JOINED TOGETHER TO HELP HIM GET HOME AT THE END WHEN HE WAS LITERALLY DYING???

despite the surface level lesson for the kids about teamwork being the spoken thing, the real meanings and messages of this show went far deeper and abroad and were shown, not told

they got to explore a side of Sonic that we barely ever see; getting to see him get more emotional, more tired, more traumatized, more desperate, than he usually is shown, basically they put him through both the emotional and physical wringer and isn't that what you're supposed to do with the main character anyway?? To see what they're made of??? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

NINE NINE NINE NINE ok he's literally just a traumatized CHILD and once you understand that everything makes sense. Not justified, but it makes sense

the way it got to explore Sonic's dynamic with all his friends, but the focus was on Nine - and by extension, the UNBREAKABLE BOND 😭

it has a good balance of action, humor, fluff, angst, and DRAMA

DID I MENTION HOW MUCH IT EMPHASIZES HOW MUCH SONIC LOVES HIS FRIENDS??? GUESS WHAT HE WOULD'VE DIED FOR THEM. THAT'S LOVE. THAT'S THE GREATEST LOVE. AKDKFNSMKSKFMDMSMSDKCKKD

it was the show of SECOND CHANCES; Sonic got to save Shadow when he couldn't in SA2; Shadow got to save Sonic when he couldn't save Maria-- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yo dude! I saw your post that you recently won an award for voicing Sonic in Sonic Prime, especially in the final episode. First of all, CONGRATS!!! I absolutely LOVED your performance, you did amazingly!!! 😁

I remembered reading this article in the TV Tropes thing for Sonic Prime, and this is what they have written for the final episode, about I think the same scene you mentioned in your post! 🤩

I remember seeing that a while ago, so I'm SO glad you finally did get an award for it!!! Congrats again!! 💙

WHOA! I'd checked the TV Tropes page a few times before but had never seen that! Talk about prophetic. Thanks so much for the very kind words AND for sharing this with me!

I've often said that Tails is my favorite Sonic character and Nine is my favorite "Tails", whom I deeply relate to. It means a lot to me that my first career award is largely driven by emotional connection with him. While Sonic in Prime was often written as a silly guy who fell down a lot, those comforting, caring moments are the ones I cherish most and how I really wanted to leave my mark on the character.

Even if I never get to do it again in an official capacity, I'll always be grateful and extremely satisfied that I got to do it at all, and that my work was able to resonate with others such as yourself. 💙
