The name “Korea” came from 고려’s ambitious ancients of our 21th century koerans. 고려 was a country which allowed foreigners through eager open-door policy. There were many foreigners who entered the international 고려 that 고려 had accomodations. 고려 invited foreigners for a national event called 연등회 and 팔관회. Therefore they advertised the name “Korea”. There was 벽란도 for the main place for international commerce. 고려 celadons and 고려 ginseng gave the opportunity for people around the world to remember the name of ‘Korea“.
BBC, Washington Post, magazine “Life” etc. selected metal printing methods as the most grandest invention. The reason was that people who did not have the chance to encounter with information could easily get them by metal printing methods. Historicans around the world say that this lead to Renaissance. the Reformation, civil revolutions, and the Industrial Revolutions.
Jikji was finally acknowledged as the book which was used by the first metal printing method in the world. It is the oldest book that remains, so it was selected as the UNESCO memory of the world.
My plan is to become a Korean who can tell people confidently about Korea’s memorable heritages. I hope many people around the world would learn about Korea and its fantastic(?) cultural heritages and accept Korea as a country which has a lot of historical facts that has influenced the world.

I watched another video at VANK's website, and this time I'm planning to tell you more about Jikji. Korea's Jikji is the oldest book that was printed by Korea's metal printing methods in 1377 which is 78 years earlier than Gutenburg's. Like you would know if you'd watch the video I'm going to post, some people said that Korea's metal printing methods does got have enough value because it was not popularized by many people. Therefor they say the Jikji is not much important in history compared to Gutenburg's invention of metal printing methods. However, (newsflash, those people) even the predecessor of the U.S. president had a speech to say he discovered an interesting fact about that invention. The information was: Before Gutenburg invented the mental printing methods, he had met a pope who traveled Korea and brought drawings and information of Korea's metal printing methods. Also, professionals say that many of Asia's techiques could have been known through the Silk Road. In result, Korea's Jikji had great influence in the world's science, especially in printing methods.
Even the oldest printing remains is Korea's. The name is 무구정광대다라니경. Now, Korea is causing a lot of change in the world's science especially in information and communication. Korea may have been a country that once required a lot of help from other countries, but now it has developed and changed its situations to helping others.
I hope this has given a lot of information to you.
For amplification, watch the video above.

One of the fun facts is that I’m gaining some advantage for myself to participate in advertising Korean cultural heritage for people around the world. We get to email people who are in the charge for popular websites.
In this video you can learn what I do. The NGO that I perform in is called VANK. It was once a small penpal website, but now the enormity of it is almost inexorable. The typical heritage people here promote is Jikji. You might not know well about Jikji, so I’d like to inform you about things you should know for history.
