How to be the most ethereal and mesmerizing person in the room? well, you definitely cannot look like everyone else, so here's some features to script to ensure your a unique beauty:

the video starts with a grainy image of a 17yo girl trying to stabilise the camera in front of a vodka bottle on her nightstand for a few seconds. after finally getting it right, she sat down in front of it and put her legs in front of her chest, with a cigarette burning in between her two fingers. a blonde girl, hair messy and all over the place. her eyes were smokey as fuck, shimmering in the unflattering lighting, looking smudged like she slept with her makeup on. before talking she’d take a drag and blow the smokeinto the camera, her bracelets making noises as she moves her hand.

‘ so… hopefully this things on. don’t ask me what im doing. i don’t even know who’s camera this is.

I. THE GREAT VISIONARY BEHIND THE CAMERA LENS!

JANE: "don’t wait for someone to hand you a pen, pick it up yourself. and when you do, write the world the way you see it, not the way you’re told it should look. if your voice shakes, use it anyway."

a creative mind since birth, jane was brought into the world on the day of love 1943. she was a bright student. intelligent and quick-witted, always knowing the answer to everything and when to raise her hand. she knew not to raise it too often, to avoid being seen as a bootlicker, but every time she did, she was always correct. her favourite subject was always english, which was taught by an affectionate woman in her late-fifties.

not in terms of shakespeare, oh god. never in terms of shakespeare. but being able to make up her own creative stories, flesh out the insides of her mind and lay them out for the world to see. she was talented at it too, creative writing. then, one day, her class was told to write about something they were interested in.

in all honesty, jane wasn't sure why she chose music at the time. perhaps it's because her mother had recently purchased a radio and she didn't need to succumb to her father's horrific piano skills (who is she kidding, of course it's because of that). jane poured her heart and soul into that assignment, and her efforts payed off. her teacher spoke highly of her writing. she called it something natural and special, something she had never seen in her thirty years of teaching!

jane, a bit bashful and unsure of what to do with all of that praise, thanked her and expected to just go about with her day as usual. but her teacher encouraged her to begin writing for the school newspaper. a special segment titled "jamming with jane," that would kickstart jane's life as a prolific photojournalist.

that small opportunity quickly escalated, growing into something far bigger than jane, or anyone, had expected.

her segment in the newspaper, made up entirely of her own photography and opinions on her favourite rising music acts, became beloved by students and teachers alike. soon, it became the talk of all merseyside. parents would even ask their children to bring home copies of the school newspaper just to read her section.

by spring time 1958, the local paper had reached out to jane. she was offered her very own segment, continuing with the title "jamming with jane," which quickly became a front-page regular.

up-and-coming bands from across the merseyside began contacting her, hoping she'd write about them. it became common knowledge that any band jane featured would gain attention, because her writing was honest, vivid, and full of excitement. people trusted her eye, her voice, and the way she could make music feel like something you could hold in your hands.

II. FROM DARKROOM, TO DRESSING ROOM!

JANE: "i think style should be fun, not a burden. besides, a smudge of lipstick or a wrinkle in my skirt just shows i’m human, no? the world’s changing, and there’s room for every kind of beauty out there."

by the early sixties, jamming with jane had taken over the world! her success wasn't a shock to those who had known her as a young child. i mean, even her parents had known she'd grow up to become something great from the moment she took her first breath.

and her entertaining reads weren't the only things people loved. jane's natural beauty and charm also swept the world, and modelling became a side hustle she dipped into from time to time. y'know, nothing serious. . . it was only vogue!

by the mid-sixties, jane had slowly begun branching out from music. she launched her newest segment, "through the eyes of jane," a far more personal project where she photographed and documented the mundane, fleeting moments of life in 1968.

a lot of this included intimate glimpses into her own life: late mornings wrapped in soft sunlight, messy baking accidents that left flour on every surface, and even her children’s milestones—their first christmas, first lost tooth, first holiday abroad. there were even silly self-portraits, playful and unpolished, showing a side of jane that the public longed for.

15 February, 1989

dear diary,

hello very much. i finally found a new journal after procrastinating getting one for so long. i can’t believe i found the perfect one under my mattress. i swear it wasn’t there before. did my roommate put it there? anyway.

since it’s my first page, i guess i should introduce myself. i’m yve (short for yvaine, but no one really calls me that.. so, just call me yve). i’m 17. i guess i like writing, but it’s just something i do for fun. i also like créme brulee with raspberries. maybe cigarettes too. maybe fashion as well. but most importantly, my friends.

i have the BEST friends ever and honestly, at this point, i see them more like family instead of friends.

i go to Faithfeathers, the best but also kind of worst school ever - well, honestly, it doesn’t have anything wrong with it. it’s actually great to be honest. especially the lake outside of the dorms!!! i just don’t like how my parents sent me here against my will, which, okay, whatever, i met my current friend group and my boyfriend ♥︎ my crush? my bestfriend.

my bestfriends crushes.. boyfriends?!? bestfriends name is Neil, well, Neil Perry to be exact. i love him more than anything and he gets me in a way no one does. i have A LOT to say about him but that’s beyond the point.. we’ll get to it later. i’ve known him for the whole time i’ve been here - since middle school (im still pretty mad at my mom & dad for leaving me here.) and the whole school knows us as a duo. fuck, forget the thing i told i before about me not telling you everything right now. we kinda kissed yesterday and i’ve never been happier. does that make us a thing? i’m SCARED. but at the same time, it makes me feel like i have butterflies in my stomach and that i have to throw up in my purse that’s next to me.

anyway, thank you for listening to me rant, my dearest diary. but. i have to get going. i have literature class in the morning and i should really sleep. its currently 2am - shit! i should have tracked the time. goodnight. rest well.

— it's winter and they're waiting for you inside in the warmth so as you step inside and meet them you place your hands on their cheeks so they can "feel how cold they are"

— flirting and the tension between the two of you being palpable

— them telling you a love song you adore reminds them of you and getting that fluttery feeling in your chest

— them teasing you and you jokingly turn to walk away but they grab your hand and pull you flusteringly close

— you notice something in their hair and, without warning, gently remove it, leaving them flustered and blushing

— stargazing and you both turn to look at each other at the same time, your faces just inches apart

— them being afraid of heights but they try to be brave to go on a rollercoaster with you and you can tell they’re nervous so you hold their hand the whole ride

— lying on their bed listening to music together and gazing into each other’s eyes before realising what you’re doing and getting flustered

— getting super excited after winning a game and impulsively hug and kiss them on the cheek, leaving them dazed and blushing

— comparing your hand sizes

— them getting jealous seeing how much you interact with other guys during an event. later, while you’re talking with your future s/o, a male friend of yours walks by and says something to you, but you just give a hum of acknowledgment to them, never tearing your eyes away from your future s/o

— surprising them from behind and linking your arm through theirs

— the two of you ditching school but as you’re sneaking out a teacher catches you. you both take off running, laughing, and holding hands, stealing glances at the teacher struggling to keep up

— you (half jokingly) flirting with them and getting really close to their face so they pull your beanie over your eyes so you don’t see their crimson blush

— them asking you to say something in your native/second language and saying “my heart belongs to you” in that language but refusing to tell them what it meant

— having nicknames for each other that only the both of you call each other

— them picking a flower and putting it behind your ear

— sparks when your skins brush

— getting forced into 7 minutes in heaven together and the both of you leaving the closet blushing furiously

— you and your s/o walking together as they push your bicycle, fresh flowers nestled in the basket at the front. the ground is scattered with fallen blossoms, and petals drift gently from the trees, surrounding the both of you

— them seeing you from afar and getting super nervous and trying to fix their hair and look nice for you

— being surrounded by a crowd of people and finding your bodies practically pressed against each other

— them trying to hide their smile everytime you do something cute

— “and less than 20 feet away from me was ___. MY ___. with ___. she’s laughing. what was she laughing about? how could she sit there and laugh and look so beautiful?”

— them dragging their friend to spy on your date and them eventually getting so jealous they resort to shamelessly crashing your date

— falling asleep on their shoulder and their whole face getting incredibly red as they try their best not to freak out or move

— accidentally touching their hand when you go to sit next to them and the both of you getting nervous

— studying together and them pretending not to know almost every single question and asking you to explain just so that they could hear your voice

— you getting drunk and them taking care of you and making sure you get into bed safely

— sharing milkshakes together and your faces getting a bit too close in proximity

— their friends asking them if they wanted to go to an event and they initially say no but when they realise you’re going they immediately change their minds

— both of you being in a group and you talking and after that your friends tell you that your future s/o looked like they were about kiss you

— hugs and eye contact which last a bit too long

— your friends forcing the both of you on a ferris wheel and you end up getting stuck at the top for 30 whole minutes
