I just had the best (and maybe a bit overused cliche) au idea for NoirPunk that I absolutely love

Royalty Noir and Pirate Hobie. Enemies to lovers, Noir is taken hostage for a heist and defends himself and blah blah the they fall in love, ends with them sailing off into the sunset.

(Pls give me motivation to finish the second chapter of my fanfic, school has started and the small inspiration and motivation I had has been taken out of my soul by the cruel education system.)

PunkNoir/NoirPunk Headcannons

Clothing/looks related :)

• Hobie puts a lot of effort into himself, like everything in his outfits is a statement, and even if his clothes aren’t very consistent , they are cohesive

• Peter on the other hand doesn’t have a lot of fashion knowledge. He can’t experiment with colors or with any unique clothing in his day and age so his clothes stay in the button up and black pants range mostly. (I say he has the no fashion sense straight man energy but still tries his best to look dapper)

• When Hobie visits Peter he’ll steal clothes and add them to his wardrobe, the black and white contrast nicely with his normal ones or adds something of his into Peter’s.

• So when Peter goes to look at his clothes for the next day he finds a shirt missing and a bright, ripped, hot pink cropped shirt in its place. (He finds this cute and wears them in his own home)

• Sometimes Hobie does this too often and Peter finds himself lacking any of his original clothes so he has to do a run to Hobie’s to get his clothes back.

• Hobie playfully pouts a bit when Peter does this but doesn’t mind it. The first time when Hobie did this Peter expected that Hobie’s closet would only consist of black and white stuff now but there still was a abundance of colorful clothing pieces.

• Hobie also has unique piercings, pins and patches that he adds to everything he owns and loves, this included Peter

• So when Peter’s in his home after hanging out with Hobie he’ll sometimes find a few pins in his pocket or a patch sewn onto his jacket. (Hobie tries to get Peter to pierce his ears but hasn’t succeeded yet)

• Hobie wears eyeliner and some graphic liners if he’s feeling fancy, and does Peter’s makeup if they hangout together. Sometimes he gifts his almost used eyeliner pens to Peter for him to try at home.

• Since Peter has met Hobie, he’s become more experimental with his style when he’s alone or with Hobie, but around others he sticks with his usual. (He does love to put a bit of rouge on his lips and cheeks as a subtle thing, Hobie gave him the rouge)

• Peter and Hobie have “friendship” bracelets that they made for each other, both matching the others universe aka Hobie wears a black and white one and Peter a very colorful one.

• Hobie does the very stereotypical thing and wears Peter’s clothes after a night together (it’s very cliche, they both love it)

(Yes I wrote this to procrastinate writing the next chapter of my fic because I hate hate hate writing mornings cause they’re so awkward to write like no I don’t wanna write Hobie eating breakfast and making toast ughh I want him to have a gay panic attack)

I’m getting my so many fanfic ideas!!!!! If I do write instead of procrastinating forever, would I get your permission to write something like this inspired by this post?

I LOVE your noirpunk thoughts I will gladly DEVOUR any more that you have (and particularly who had a crush on who first who confessed first or did they both do it)

OMG I HAVE SO MANY - and I haven't done a list in a while so here we go:

NoirPunk Confession Headcanons:

I love the idea that Peter fell first but didn't know it, and that Hobie fell slowly and absolutely knew it

It was probably natural for Peter to fall for Hobie early on. For him it's like seeing the world in watercolor, then seeing neon for the first time in your life

Hobie is just so confident, and calm, and easy-going, and encouraging

He's so radical and resilient, but kinder than anyone Noir's ever met

Noir doesn't have a word for it, but from the beginning he knows he feels respect for Hobie. He cares about him. He feels close to him.

He doesn't know Hobie, but he understands him - and he wants to know him more

Hobie is like him.

Peter probably falls right in the beginning, sharing midnight cups of coffee with Hobie at his kitchen table

He doesn't have a name for it - he doesn't really think of things like that

He didn't really feel a need to - not when it was just him and Hobie. When it was the two of them alone, it felt like they were the only people in the world. Peter didn't really ask why.

Hobie, however would probably fall slower, but know every step of the way

I could imagine it throwing him for a loop too

He decides right at the beginning that he's going to stick with Noir. Hobie knows a good ally when he sees one.

In the beginning, Peter is a comrade - someone Hobie trusts whole-heartedly. Someone he'd give his last dollar to if asked. Someone he'd follow into any fight.

He'd do anything for Peter, and that's how it starts for him

Because he knows that this time, it's different - Noir is different.

Any other time, with any other Peter, Hobie would never give them the time of day.

He doesn't greet Peters, he'll walk right by dozens of them. And the one he does talk to - Peter B. - usually gets an attitude from him.

It'd be easy to assume that Hobie doesn't like Peters - but this is different

Noir is like him.

He's like him more than anyone.

Noir isn't just different from other Peters - he's different from everyone.

Hobie wakes up wanting to see him, he goes to sleep hoping that Peter was okay today, that he got to laugh at least once

He finds himself wanting to see him, and on the days that he doesn't the ache gets worse and worse

It's hard to swallow at first -

That he's falling so hard for a Peter of all people, but that doesn't matter to him.

What matters to him is Noir.

I feel like Hobie would definitely be the first one to bring it up, but in a more casual way.

Soon, before either of them knew it, they fell into a routine. Hanging out in Noir's apartment or Hobie's houseboats, watching black and white movies or having book discussions over coffee and tea.

(Casablanca came out 1943 - Hobie had a blast showing Noir that one, breaking down the political influences)

There'd been more than a few times that they'd fallen asleep with their limbs crossed over each others

Until one night Hobie just lets something slip

His head is always full of admiration for Noir, for his quiet contemplation and calm demeanor. But for once he says it out loud

It's something casual but truthful, almost corny

like telling Peter that if there was someone he could do this with for the rest of his life, it'd be with Noir

Or that he's never met anyone he connected to more than him

It's so casual, but so honest, that for a second Peter just pauses

And he's a little quiet after that

Like it just hit him

Peter feels the way Hobie's words made him feel, how Hobie makes him feel

And it kinda just clicks for him

Hobie doesn't need Peter to respond right away, the quiet is enough - Peter is enough - Hobie's just happy to have finally said it, for Noir to know that he is loved and that Hobie does care, more than anything

And for Peter in that moment it's like ripping the sheet off. The writter who Hobie constantly stunned to speechlessness suddenly had words for it all

The next time Noir visits Hobie, he comes holding the bouquet of monochrome roses

And he just tells Hobie that the roses are for him, if he'll take them - and Noir will be by his side anyway he wants him to be, if he'll have him

And for the first time Hobie is the speechless one
