SPBB 2024 Writer Sign-Ups - EXTENDED

Dear all

Due to a slightly lower than expected turn-out, and our commitment to running the event this year, we have decided to extend writer sign-ups for the Spideypool Big Band 2024!

The new deadline for writer sign-ups will be the 30th April 2024! This gives another whole month to polish up that plot bunny or WIP you’ve had rattling around your drive for ages. 

To make it easier to sign-up, we will also be removing the 25% draft requirement. Instead, writers will need to provide a 1 page story outline (beginning, middle, end!) of the fic you will be writing.

Sign-ups for Writers via this form.

(Please be aware that this means writers will have until the 25th May to produce a 50% rough draft ready for Claims!) 

This does affect dates for the rest of the event and we'll be updating these shortly. You can find our Rules, FAQ, and Schedule on our wiki page.

SPBB 2024 - COUNTDOWN BEGINS

Aaaaaand, we're back... back again... SPBB's back.... Tell a friend...

Yes, tell all your friends!

After a short hiatus, we're pleased to announce that Spideypool Big Bang 2024 will be launching in February 2024.

This is your 4 month countdown reminder to start working on your fics if you would like to sign up as a writer for the event. To be eligible for sign up, writers will need a 50% draft and summary.

We will be working to update the schedule and other information pages on tumblr over the coming months, so be sure to subscribe and look out for further announcements!

SPBB Postponed Until 2024

Happy Saturday Spideypool Lover! Thank you to everyone who participated in our interest check poll! The responses we received indicate that postponing the event this year would be the best option for everyone. We're sad that there won't be a new crop of collaborations this year, but that only leaves room for bigger and better collabs next year!

We will be setting a reminder post on tumblr in October for writers to get started on drafts for 2024. If you would like an email reminder as well, please dm us either on tumblr or discord with your email address, and we will add you to a reminder email list.

SPBB 2023 - Update and Interest Check

Dear all Spideypool fans!

Many thanks to those who have signed up to the event so far! We are aware that signing up to an event like this is a big commitment time and energy wise, for participants (and the mods!) and it’s lovely to see returning names. 

However, at the moment, there are not enough participants signed up to make running the event worthwhile (less than five writers/artists have signed up). 

Therefore, we’d like to do an interest check and propose two options:

Option One: If there is enough interest in participating in the event, but those who wished to sign up were not able to do so – either due to not having enough time to write a draft, or missing the sign up deadline – we will consider postponing the schedule to start later in the year. 

Option Two: if there is not enough interest in the event this year, we will not run an SPBB 2023, but defer until next year. 

We’ve created a very quick form. We would be grateful to anyone who may be interested in the event to fill out this form before the 10th March 2023.
