I talked in another post about my hc that Sephiroth grows his hair out as a form of autonomy and control over his own choices

but also what if. after he lost the locket if Lucrecia's photo inside, he remembers that she had a long ponytail and he grew his own hair out as a way to feel closer to her, to look more like her, maybe it gives him a sense of normality too, as far stretched it is?

I can't imagine Sephiroth not knowing that his physical appearance is also "special" and that he stands out. We know Sephiroth has his insecurities, and while it is not confirmed, I wouldn't be surprised if he is also insecure about his physical appearance.

I like how in the original game, Sephiroth's airvents bangs are asymmetrical
