“DoodleFrog” was taken on Twitter and I feel unoriginal having just changed the “o” to a “0”. Kinda wanna keep the “Frog” association but I’m willing to change it for something more creative. Any ideas as to what I should change my branding to?

I’ve had a number of friends just assume I was autistic upon meeting me, and was surprised to hear I had never gotten a diagnosis. I never even thought of myself having it before they said anything, but then I did hours upon hours of research and realized that I did relate to what I was finding. My cousin who works with children with Autism told me she didn’t see it, but then a year after having said that changed her mind completely and now is convinced I am autistic. My therapist thinks I have it, and my immediate family can see it too after I had told them. I’ve got no clue how to go about a diagnosis, and I know in some cases it may be more harmful to get one because of the stigma and hurdles in getting one. I may one day, but whether or not I do does not magically make me more or less autistic. Self diagnosis for many reasons can be a valid tool!

Why self-diagnosed autistics are valid

medical diagnosis can be expensive

humans are the experts on their own minds

family may prevent assessment

diagnosis criteria is a poor checklist of stereotypes

diagnosis criteria ignores gender, race, sexuality, culture & more

medical diagnosis confirms autism, but doesn't create it

discrimination within the medical profession may prevent diagnosis.

Assessment waiting lists often long

medical trauma may make assessment unfeasible
