Magic Stark AU
Ned Stark – The Ghost
Tumblr media
Ned Stark, patriarch of the family until his death. He now haunts the Stark Manor and the forest they own. Only his family members possessing magical powers/being supernatural beings can see him.
Catelyn Stark – The Undead
Tumblr media
Catelyn Stark is the matriarch of the Stark family. She has been killed but is now an Undead. She looks like a living person thanks to a charm made by Sansa but her true appearance is the one of a corpse and she is mute due to her throat being slit. Catelyn cannot die again unless she is burnt or decapitated and thus is not afraid to put herself in danger for her family. Since she is a descendant of powerful witches, she is the reason her children and herself have powers.
Robb Stark – The War Spirit
Tumblr media
Robb Stark is the first son of Ned and Catelyn. After his father’s murder, he becomes mad with grief and fury. He gets lost in the Northern Woods where he is found by War Spirits who make him one of their own to allow him to get his revenge. He is the most prone to violence in the family and can lash out easily. He is also over protective of his family. As a War Spirit, Robb can summon a full armour, a horse and a sword to slay his enemies.
Sansa Stark – The Witch
Tumblr media
Sansa Stark is the second child of Ned and Catelyn. After her father’s death, her witch powers awaken. She is easily one of the most powerful members of the Stark and is behind Catelyn’s charm and Bran’s survival after he is attacked. She is the first to see her father’s ghost. Sansa’s powers includes the creation of charms, telekinesis and the creation of illusion. Blood and bones can make her magic stronger but she refuses to use them and she uses runes and crystals as vessels.
Arya Stark – The Vampire
Tumblr media
After her father’s death, Arya Stark runs away from home and is found by Jaqen, a vampire who attacks her. She survives thanks to Robb’s intervention and her witch heritage and becomes a vampire. Stronger and faster than human, she is prone to mood swings for a while because of bloodlust but leans to control it. She wants to avenge her father and protect her family more than anything. Arya’s closest sibling was Jon and she is heartbroken when he joins the Order.
Bran Stark – The Druid
Tumblr media
Bran Stark is the fourth child of Catelyn and Ned. His Druid powers allow him to control animals and to have visions. His powers awoke after his father’s death, just like Sansa’s, and they grew closer after. He is attacked by Jaime Lannister a few months later and is crippled as a result. This attack was the official beginning of the war between the Lannisters and the Starks.
Rickon Stark – The Werewolf
Tumblr media
Last child of Ned and Catelyn, Rickon is a young boy who is turned into a werewolf after being attacked in the woods. He was following Robb, worried for his brother. His wolf form is huge and black, and is uncontrollable because it is the incarnation of Rickon’s pain and suffering.
Theon Greyjoy – The Kraken
Tumblr media
Theon Greyjoy was placed in the Stark’s care when he was nine after his father was arrested for child abuse. Theon resented Ned for a while throughout his child because he was the judge who condemned his father and he is hesitant in joining the war. However, Jon’s betrayal makes him realize that he truly cares for the Starks and saves Rickon on his own. He is a water spirit, just like all the other member of his family and can manipulate water.
Jon Snow – The Hunter
Tumblr media
Jon Snow is Ned Stark’s nephew who has been adopted by Ned and Catelyn after his birth due to his mother’s death. He distanced himself from his brothers’ and sisters’ after learning about his true parentage. After Ned’s death and the Starks becoming supernatural beings due to Catelyn’s heritage, he feels even more like an outcast. After one of Arya’s violent mood swings, the sibling of whom he was the closest, he becomes terrified and joins the Order, an organisation hunting supernatural beings, hoping to “cure” his family.

Sansa Stark the Hufflepuff
I have always seen people discuss whether Sansa is a Ravenclaw or a Slytherin, but I see her as a Hufflepuff, to be honest. Before murdering me, let me defend my idea ^^ According to Wikia, here are the Hufflepuff attributes: dedication, hardworking, fairness, patience, kindness, tolerance, modesty and loyalty. Let us proceed attribute by attribute.
1.      Dedication.
Sansa embodies dedication. She worked hard to become a perfect lady (see 2.), she wants to be the perfect wife for Joffrey and a good queen, she looks after Sweet Robin even though he needs a lot of attention (due to his seizures and many problems, poor kid) and acts like the Lady of the Erye even though it demands a lot of work, etc.
2.      Hardworking
According to her own mother, “Sansa was a lady at three”. Even though Sansa was obviously a natural when it came to be a lady, she had to work to be as good as she is. She can play several instruments, write poetry, sew her own clothes (and lady clothes are harder to do than low-born clothes because embroidery is hard), but she also is a walking encyclopaedia when she is 11, which shows that she worked hard to remember Houses, knights, etc. You have to work hard to know how to do these things as well as Sansa does, which means than she is a hard worker.
3.      Fairness
I do not think that this attribute has much development. I do not remember her being unfair, to be honest, but I can be wrong. And no, her treatment of Jon is not unfair simply because they did not interact. Jon and Sansa have no common interest, and her ignoring him is not “unfair”. Sansa obeys the rules of society, but still remains kind. It would have been so easy for her to be unfair! She could accuse him of any wrongdoings she wanted, and people would have believed her. And, by the way, every single Stark kid calls Jon “my bastard half-brother” or “my half-brother”. Her treatment of Jon is the only moment when we could see Sansa being unfair, but she was not.
When you look at Westerosi culture, she was not being unfair to him. Even when you read Jon’s chapters, he does not remember Sansa as someone horrible, who treated badly. He does note that she referred to him as his half-brother since she was old enough to understand what a bastard was, but he remembers her singing while brushing Lady’s fur (ergo a recent memory) and telling him he must always compliment a girl’s name, meaning they had some kind of interactions.
4.      Patience
Even though we see Sansa being impatient once or twice (when she snaps at Ser Dontos because she is desperate for example, and as I just said, she was desperate and had been suffering from physical and psychological abuses for months), she is incredibly patient, and this is what saves her: if she had been more impulsive, she would have been killed on spot by Joffrey. But she was patient: she waited for Robb to come and save her, for Dontos’ plan, etc. In comparison, Arya is quite impatient (this is not an attack, simply a comparison to show Sansa’s patience!), as seen when she tries to escape the men of the Brotherhood Without Banner when they capture her, for example.
5.      Kindness
I am not sure that I have to prove Sansa’s kindness: she saves Dontos, covers Arya, cares for Sweet Robin, she would have given bread to the angry mob if she had any, etc. Sansa is kind, there is nothing you can say which will make me think otherwise.
6.      Tolerance
Sansa is someone I see as quite tolerant through her religious background: even though she prefers the Faith of the Seven, she also believes in the Old Gods, and goes to the weird wood. It demonstrates that she is open-minded, even though we do not have much info on this subject and thus I cannot really say anything. We can also note that she does not think ill of Ellaria Sand, who is a bastard and, even though we see the scene through Tyrion’s eyes, it would have been easy to write as being uneasy when talking to Ellaria (for example, Ollena called Ellaria a “whore”). Thus, I think Sansa is pretty tolerant considering Westerosi standards.
7.      Modesty
Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not remember Sansa bragging. She says that she is stupid and silly (“I’m just being silly”) and never seems arrogant. Even Arya, who used to have a very biased description of her sister due to her self-confidence issues, does not see her as arrogant.
8.      Loyalty
No matter what, Sansa remained loyal to her House. Each time Robb won a battle, Sansa bled for the North. She was beaten and humiliated for Joffrey’s pleasure, but she remained loyal to her house. She wanted to raise her sons to hate the Lannisters because she is loyal to the Starks and wants nothing but going home. It is literally the first thing she asked to Cersei when she was freed from her betrothal to Joffrey. Sansa wants to go home.
In conclusion, I think Sansa is someone who would perfectly fit in Hufflepuff. Is she brave, cunning, etc? Of course; everyone fits in several Hogwart House. However, you are sorted in a House whose attributes corresponds to those you value the most! And Sansa does not value her Slytherin (resourcefulness, self-preservation, cleverness, etc) or Ravenclaw (Intelligence, wit, wisdom) abilities above what comes naturally to her: dedication, hardworking, fairness, patience, kindness, tolerance, modesty and loyalty.
(And yes, I wanted to sort my favourite in my House but I think I have some pretty valid arguments, don’t I?)

sansa stark is a ravenclaw. she’s one of the more intelligent characters of got/asoiaf and although maybe that’s not true at age 11, she most definitely thought she was smarter than others. the sorting hat takes into account what house you want to be put into, sansa was a little separated from her family at that age (even catelyn) and more interested in being different from arya and robb who would definitely be gryffindors (i can’t decide between gryffindor or hufflepuff for jon like ned)
ravenclaw is all about intelligence, wit, wisdom, and creativity. sansa most definitely has intelligence and wit, her wisdom will come from her bad experiences, and she’s shown to be quite creative in embroidery and all that other fun stuff. not to mention the bird symbolism
