The sunlight hit through the icicles just right, so no editing needed to be done (I also don’t like my photos to be edited 😛)

Loving Winter
When I was younger and was asked the question “what is your favorite season?”, I would always answer that all of them were because they all had something different to offer. They’d say “ew even winter?”, that response always led me to believe that maybe I was a bit weird. Living in the mitten state, I’ve noticed that the winter is widely known to be the worst part of Michigan. It’s cold, dreary, the salt on the roads rusts your car, resilience is key when the storms are bad (especially because all you want to do is stay inside), business plummets, and your motivation disappears along with the sun.
Once I gave myself the freedom of having my own beliefs, I confirmed that there really is a lot more to winter than meets the eye. Winter is a season that is slow, silent and peaceful. It offers a moment of reflection, that even nature needs a period of rest to grow back- to be even more beautiful than it was in its last season. Even the snow is fascinating. Have you ever seen an image of a snowflake up close? Google it, you won’t be disappointed I promise. Each is individually beautiful and unique, yet when it’s thrown together it forms a sparkling blanket over the Earth. The cold teaches the need to find warmth- it’s how you survive. I’ve always felt that these things can mirror back and teach us about our daily lives.
