kaldur doesn't hold any hope this day can get better.

in the past twelve hours he's already been through a disaster of a mission, got benched by aquaman, and smacked in the face with three flying fishes, surprisingly not thrown by wally or any of the team.

but kaldur really should have expected you marching into the room and yelling at everyone to go away—and throwing a cap onto robin, so the younger hero knows he's in charge—but he didn't

"my light, what are you doing?" he asks you as you drag him out the mission room.

"what does it look like? giving you the break you deserve" you look back at him, smiling.

kaldur swears his heart stops for a moment.

it is the same daring smile he's fallen for, the one that could ask him to do anything and he would compile, because that's how hopelessly in love he is.

he hasn't said it yet though; your relationship is rather new, and neither of you have claimed to be ready to utter those three words, but kaldur has always known them

how could he not be? there's no one else he would rather spend his time with, through the good times or the worse.

you give him a purpose to fight, a reason beside honor.

it doesn't terrify him much anymore; it's been a while he's come to terms with that, but he wasn't ready to be vulnerable.

he's the leader of the team, the responsibility falls upon him, but with you, he's just kaldur. not aqualad, not the leader of the team, but just kaldur.

he wouldn't have it any other way.

as you drag him to his room and jump on his bed, he smiles. he would do anything to wake up beside you for the rest of his life.

he lays down beside you before you begin playing the little mermaid on screen.

kaldur gives you the side eye to which you peck his cheek, leaning your head on his shoulder.

exhaustion finally catches up to him and the last thing he's aware before he dozes off to sleep is you kissing his forehead and whispering the three words he's felt.

"i love you"

kaldur grins, half asleep. he mutters the words back before sleep takes over.

his day did get better.

"Your face is as red as your moniker, my friend," Kaldur chuckled into his mug of tea.

"Is not," Roy muttered, though there was no energy behind his grumbling. He was still focused on you as you danced around the kitchen to some pop rock song, waiting impatiently for the cookies to be done. You were far from American Idol worthy, but it might as well have been a siren song the way your voice haunted his dreams as well as his every waking moment. And Kaldur knew it.

Kaldur shrugged, and nodded to Wally as Kid Flash paraded into the kitchen, "Whatever you may say, my friend."

"Hey sweet cheeks!" Wally crooned.

"Sup, Wall-man?" You tossed your batter-covered microphone (read: spoon) into the sink.

"My heart rate, for one," Wally wiggled his brows at you as he began gathering condiments and ingredients for his patented colossal sandwich.

"Oh, are you okay?" You asked.

"Never better, babe." Wally's nicknames never phased you. He flirted with everyone, there was no heart in it, but you wished that some of Wally's confidence would rub onto Roy. With his cursed skill with arrows, it was safe of you to sat that he'd successfully avoided being pierced by Cupid's.

"Are you gonna save some for the rest of us?" You asked as Wally piled ham, turkey, and three types of cheese on his bread in a very specific pattern.

"You know I'd do anything for you, beautiful!" To prove it, Wally set aside two slices of bread, meat, and some cheddar for your own sandwich.

That made something in Roy snap.

He marched across the common room, and inserted himself in between you and Wally.

"Forget him. I'll take you out to a proper meal."

You felt the heat rush to your cheeks as Wally's grin stretched across his face looking between you and Roy. Over on the couch, Kaldur spat out the sip of tea he'd been unfortunate to be drinking.

"R-Roy? Are you...are you asking me out on...on a date?"

How are you!??

Hey! I'm doing pretty good. I've gone back to school and started a new job (economics is weird, people), and one of my roommates is setting me up on a date with one of her friends!

I'm pretty sure this isn't why you sent this ask but I guess I'll take this opportunity to apologize for not being as active. Since coming home from my mission eight months ago I've been focusing on my Star Wars writings a lot more, and without HBOMax I've only seen the first handful of episodes from YJ:Phantoms. I still have that Roy ask that was sent in a couple months ago, as well as a Kaldur ask that Terra sent in like three years ago (oop).

As for when I'll become more active on this blog, only Fate knows.

Hey! I’m a newbie here but I came from that one shot where Kaldur and bees sister are in an arranged marriage and it was really good! Not really asking for a sequel but can I request hc’s for being Y/N bee and dating kaldur while he’s undercover?

Dolly's Note: I'm glad you liked it and I will be more than happy to write these headcanons! If you're wondering about the one shot that the anon is talking about, it is right: Here!

- Literally a fake dating turned to real dating story to it's core. You and Kaldur keep up appearances for his father and your sister, granted you both do sometimes try to complain here and there so they don't get too suspicious about you guys going along with this so well.

- But it's not like there's really a lot to complain about. I mean, Kaldur is basically perfection personified and you've always been the golden girl of Bialya, so it's only logical you and Kaldur got along fairly well, right?

- I mean, you guys liked to talk to each other. Not just about your secret plan or discussing various information you found out but also about what it's like with having to deal with your relatives, various interests that you two shared, and other things.

- You two can be found walking around the royal palace of Bialya, laughing and chatting side by side as you walked together. The occasional comfortable silence as you sat in the garden with each other, trying to find solace in the stressful life of being double-agents.

- Then somewhere along the line, you two develop feelings for each other. Not just the amiable relationship you two put on for show for your sister but actual genuine feelings.

- It was awkward for a while, you getting flustered around him, and he was too nervous around you to even pay it any mind. His father and your sister noticed this and would become concerned, the date of your wedding was drawing closer and they couldn't have you two backing out of it now (not like you guys had a choice, though).

- But after some prying and managing to get the truth out of both of you, they finally managed to get yourselves to admit that you two actually do have feelings for one another.

- Queen Bee and Black Manta playing matchmaker is actually kinda domestically wholesome-

- When they finally encourage you both to admit and confess your feelings to each other, it's actually really embarrassing for the both of you but you both are heavily relieved that you both feel the same way.

- Literally when you two rendezvous with Nightwing, he somehow knows about it and is all smug and teases you about it and Kaldur is smiling and rolling his eyes while you're there like: "Dick, stop being a jerk, I could literally be executed for just talking to you right now-"

- You two sympathize with each other a lot and can come to each other for comfort, not even just because you guys are the only double-agents but because you genuinely appreciate each other's company and find solace with each other.

- When Kaldur feels conflicted for having to betray his father, I can imagine that he ends up just talking to you about it and you sigh and rub his back as you explain how hard it is to have to lie to your older sister. But you guys encourage each other that it's what must be done in order to save the world and soldier on.

- Queen Bee and Black Manta are honestly delighted because now your feelings for each other are real, so they think that this marriage is not only beneficial for the Light but for you two as well.

- They buy themselves a "best sister"/'best father" mugs as a treat.

- You two dating also means that there isn't any suspicions being aroused as you two spend more and more alone time together, since you are a couple. You can plan and exchange information as much as you two would wish and no one would be none the wiser.

- However your sister does get a protective if you're alone with Kaldur for too long.

- Kaldur is usually visiting you in Bialya most of the time but there have been times when you were able to go to the underwater base with him and you just awe at the sea life underneath.

- However, as in love with each other as you two are, the marriage thing still seems a bit too fast. You both hope that Dick manages to enact his plan before your official wedding date so you don't have to deal with the awkwardness of having to, you know, getting divorced and then dating and then getting married again...if you guys are together for that long, that is.

Clear Waters🌊

“Are you sure?” Kaldur continued to ask as he walked towards the shore. With a huff (y/n) leaned back in their beach chair. “Yes I’m sure Kaldur, I’ll be fine!” With a nod of his head to confirm, Kaldur walked deeper into the ocean water. Then suddenly he dived in and he was gone. (Y/N) smiled as their boyfriend went under.

The two had decided to get away from the hustle and bustle of hero life, for a little bit. Using the zeta tubes (y/n) and Kaldur found a beautiful island for their getaway. The sand was white and soft, and the water was crystal clear. When the sun was up it was bright and warm. And as it went down, it was breathtaking. They packed plenty of food and supplies. They had the entire island to themselves, yup it was perfect.

Except for one thing, (y/n) and water did not mix. Funny considering that their boyfriend is well, all about water. And the island, as islands are, was surrounded by water. It’s not that (y/n) hated it, it’s just something about it that didn’t sit right with them. So (y/n) spent a lot of time sunbathing on dry land. Or they would walk around the island, searching for souvenirs.

While Kaldur explored the waters below. He would always come back up at the same time and the two would spend the rest of the day together. And most of the time was spent doing more mature activities. Something about sweat dripping down that chocolate skin as he- Stuck in their thoughts (Y/N) didn’t realize that Kaldur had emerged from the water.

“My love?” With a jump (y/n) looked up to see the pearly whites that made up Kaldur’s smile. Water dripped down his muscles and blue speedo. It left little to the imagination but damn did (y/n) love it. Trying to clear their head (y/n) responded, “You’re back early, did you see something?” Kaldur sat on the sand next to (y/n)s chair. He placed his cheek on their thigh, water running down on (y/n)s leg.

“I didn’t see anything all that exciting. But I had to come back because I wanted to ask you something. You may deny my request but, I think you will like it.” Kaldur lifted his head to look into (y/n) eyes. He was giving them the “look”. Not exactly a puppy dog look, but something very similar to it. (Y/N) cocked one of their eyebrows and folded their arms. “And what exactly may this request be Kaldur’ahm. I love you, but I don’t want any funny business on our baecation.”

With a chuckle Kaldur stood up and extended his hand out to (y/n). “No, there’s no funny business.” After (y/n) held his hand he walked them both over to the shore. The soft warm sand was replaced with cold and wet lumpiness. As the tide came in it would wash over (y/n)s feet. (Y/N) took a step back but Kaldur’s firm hand kept them from going too far. “(Y/N) there’s nothing to be afraid of. I’m right here my love.”

Though fear was trickling down (y/n)s spine, Kaldur made them feel better. He always made them feel calm and loved. Even now when (y/n) felt like they could jump out of their skin. “I h-have a feeling, this is what you wanted to ask m-me?” Kaldur came forward and wrapped his arms around (y/n). He placed his face between their neck and shoulder. His breath tickled them with each exhale.

“I would love it if you joined me in the water but I won’t push you. I’m just so happy that I’m able to spend this time with you”. Kaldur raised his head as he grabbed the sides of (y/n)s face. As water crashed over the two’s feet again, Kaldur placed a kiss on their lips. (Y/N) shivered but they couldn’t tell if it was from the water or the kiss. (Y/N) placed their arms behind Kaldur’s head as his hands slid down to (y/n)s waist. They made sure to mind his gills.

(Y/N) didn’t remember closing their eyes but when they opened them they were surprised. (Y/N) looked down as they realized that there was water up to their knees. It was the ocean, they were in the ocean! And yet they weren’t panicking, why weren’t they panicking?

Maybe because the water was warm and not cold like they thought. Or maybe it was the hypnotic sound of the waves crashing. But it might’ve just been the fact that they were holding onto Kaldur. His strong arms kept them anchored. His lips placed soft kisses on their neck and face. His heartbeat was felt through his chest because they were so close.

“Was this your plan all along? To distract me?” (Y/N) closed their eyes as Kaldur hummed. “Well it depends, is it working?” The question made (y/n) smile. They looked up and pulled Kaldur’s face towards them. “Yeah, it’s working” they said against his lips.

Hi, I hope I'm not bothering you, but I was wondering if you could write headcanons of what it would be like to be part of Young Justice and secretly be dating Klarion.

So anon, I love this ask. The night I got it I spent a good hour writing out a set of headvanons but then it didn't save and I kinda lost it at myself so that's why this wasn't answered earlier. BUT NOW, ENJOY!!!!

So to start off, Zatanna is your best friend. That girl would die for you, and you for her. You know each other too well to keep secrets from each other.

She notices that Klarion likes you before you do.

"How does it feel to have a supervillain crushing on you?" winkwinknudgenudge

"He was flirting with me?"

It was just a joke up until then, but when Zatanna realized that you really didn't have a clue, it became a personal challenge for her to get you on a date with the Lord of Chaos.

It was even more fun to try and do it without the rest of the team finding out, but Aqualad and Miss Martian definitely know something's up.

You manage to get a message to Klarion asking if he wanted to meet up for coffee

You just wanted to take him to a cute little coffee shop not too far from the mountain so Zee can spy on you but he ends up taking you to this amazingly chaotic cafe in Limbotown (where he lives)

The cups refill automatically and there's little chaos demon creatures flying around and trying to eat your scones with flavor-changing creams and you are definitely coming back

It didn't stop after that.

Zatanna wonders what she got herself into some days.

You do too, but then Klarion shows up to your next date and says "I slayed an entire demon army for you" and you go all heart eyes.

Bullies at your school? Their homework comes out in gibberish

Creeps catcalling you? their hoodies start to strangle them.

Klarion hasn't had a friend in a long time, much less a partner.

No one sets a finger on you with the intent of harming you and keeps their fingers.

Zatanna uses her sneaking-out-of-the-house spell to create a double for you when you want to go meet up with Klarion. You just have to pray no one tries to hit your smoke double during training or Black Canary will have you grounded.

You have definitely flirted a bit too much during fights that Batman may start to catch on.

The rest of the team doesn't say anything, but they definitely know something's up.

M'gann hands you a plate of cookies "to split" as you're headed off to meet up with Klarion.

Wally is constantly joking about how chicks dig the crazy ones.

Conner and Artemis, on two seperate occasions, have both cornered Klarion during a fight to give him the shovel talk

You're their friend, even if Klarion is the bad guy. And yes, they are the good guys, but Robin knows of seven locations in Gotham alone where they can dispose of a body with no evidence and Kaldur knows three ways to kill an immortal.

Long story short, when the masks are on, he's the bad guy and you're the good guy, but when the masks come off, you're the apple of his glowing eyes and he would kill anyone who hurts you.

"I may have...ripped my pants."

M'gann rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face clued Conner in to the fact that she wasn't that annoyed. He obediently placed the torn article of clothing in her hand, and M'gann stared at the rip intensely. The fraying strings writhed beneath her glowing eyes, weaving back together again.

"We really should get you some new clothes," she said, giving the pants back to Conner.

"I like these pants." Conner stubbornly shoved his legs into his pants. They were quite old, Clark had worn them at one point, she was pretty sure. Ma Kent made Superman take very good care of his things, and so they had lasted twenty-some-odd years, but Conner could be a little more excitable than Clark.

"You don't have to get rid of them," She giggled, "If you like them that much, we could frame them."

"That's weird."

"Have Clark sign them and sell them for a million dollars on EBay." She grinned over the top of her mug as she sipped her coffee

"That's creepy," Conner's tiny little smile told her that he was slightly entertained by the idea.

She shrugged, "Could put the money to good use around here."

"We could," Conner, fully clothed now, came up behind M'gann and wrapped his arms around her shoulders.

"What would you do with a million dollars?" He asked her.

"Donate it to the Taos center so they can hire more counselors besides me and Dinah. What about you?"

"Well now mine sounds selfish in comparison," He snorted, pressing his nose to her cheek.

M'gann laughed, and they gently swayed back and forth. "Tell me your selfish impulse buy and I'll tell you mine."

"A new motorcycle. You?"

"A dress for the met gala."

Conner blinked. "But you can just create whatever dress you want out of thin air!"

"Yes, but that doesn't last. With a hard copy, I can keep it forever, along with all the memories."
