(Granted we all know now Steven is a completely seperate person from Rose, and is in fact NOT Rose nor Pink Diamond. BUT BACK THEN???? No wonder Jasper just sounded so heartbroken 💔)I feel so freaking bad for her 😭😭😭😭

Thats probably the most tragic part of watching Jasper’s corruption-

She really DID just dedicate her whole ass life after the War was over, wishing for nothing else except Justice for her Diamond to then finding out (who, at the time EVERYONE thought Rose = Steven) that I guess in Jaspers eyes, Pink Diamond was so beneath Rose Quartz she didnt even bother remembering who she was

Its that look in Jaspers eyes too that really sells how broken she was in that instant. “What do you MEAN you dont remember the Diamond you were made to serve?!” Just-

The big buff cheetoh puff needs all the hugs. I don’t care what anyone says, This alone is part of the reason why I find Jasper so interesting- and also so tragic of a character too 😭

I also want to just let you guys know, production of the comic pages might be a tad bit slowed down, since I've also got some commissions I'm working on at the same time Got so far 6 out of 10 slots taken on my main account @instaquarius (you can also find me on deviantArt, and bluesky, though I am most active on either here or deviantArt where I post other drawings if you'd like to take a peek) But yeah, I don't remember if I ever mentioned it here yet, so- I'm just doing it again just because. Changed the name of the Ruby, originally in the sketch the gem was on her knee, but i changed it to the back of the hand, cuz the middle one had it on the back of the hand, but you couldn't really see it, so i swapped and forgot to edit the text for Steven soo whoops lol So ye, the one speaking first is now "Handy" There's "Footy" and forehead lol

Andesine sees plants:

Spinel side of her: *gets traumatized and has a reaction to seeing them cuz of the whole "I got abandoned in the Garden by my Diamond cuz she's a dickhead*

The Jasper side of Andesine (now in full control of the fusion):

STARTS VIOLENTLY RIPPING OUT ANY AND ALL PLANTS WITHIN THE VICINITY JUST TO MAKE SPINEL HAPPY AGAIN AND FEEL BETTER CUZ SHE FEELS HER PAIN AND MISERY AND JSDBJSDFSDJBFHSDFSFDMN

Might have to draw this at some point cuz now I can't stop thinking about this-

Look I'm just saying, since I think i think it IS possible (and I mean I kinda did more or less write the reason Jasper wanted to fuse so badly with Spinel was sorta alluding cuz they both hate themselves so deeply which- I hope while you guys read the comic, you get what I'm trying to go for.)

And them wanting to sorta disappear, through the power of fusion. So that way neither Jasper nor Spinel have to confront all the things they wish went different, that Pink Diamond never just discarded them both like they were nothing etc. Never told Jasper the plan to fake shatter herself, or just took Spinel with her to Earth instead of dumping her in the garden for 6,000 years

hence why I wanted the fusion to be an in-between of a Malachite and a Garnet- (being a toxic relationship when seperated but maybe through becoming Andesine it CAN have the potential to be like a garnet cuz by being fused, both jasper and spinel get a clearer understanding WHY they feel the way that they do and ya know-)

Since "Andesine" is meant to gain self worth back, which, neither gem has at the moment. They were considered perfect, and even then Pink taught them that meant nothing so now both of them believe it with all their soul.

But through the power of fusion, they can feel to be something more. And something they can hopefully be proud of, that'll make it a more positive emotion instead.

Anyways, in other news-

Hmmmm- Reminds me of a certain other pink gem that gave me those same kind of vibes during the movie-

"How you gonna forget with me around? I'm the source of all your problems! Don't pretend you want me here. What's your plan for me, huh? You gonna put me somewhere? You gonna leave me somewhere? You gonna leave me alone?"

"D'you really expect me to believe that you want me LIKE. THIS?!"

“Then stop me! You wanna attack me. Just admit it. Or better yet, just try it!”

"All that stuff's easy for you to say. When you change, you change for the better; when I change, I change for the worse! I used to be just not good enough, just not good enough for Pink! Since it's still gonna be a bit til I get the next page for SUR out, how about some random facts on Andesine that no one asked for. But I was kinda nerding out about her in my discord server so thought I'd share some of my ideas for the fusion between Jasper and Spinel and why I chose to name them after this stone in particular, as well as some real world facts about the stone itself

Andesine is a plagioclase feldspar with a composition between that of oligoclase and labradorite.. Its bold colors and warm energy are believed to make andesine a stress-relieving, grounding stone that melts your worries away.

*Kinda fits 2 certain gems we all know and love in the SU fandom eh? Since I'm pretty sure it's sorta implied Jasper and Spinel hate themselves, or at least blame themselves for not realizing Pinks' plan when she abandoned them in the garden (Spinel) or when she was planning to fake her own shattering (Jasper)

Also being left behind, even though both are the most perfect of gems, that a Gem could be. And even then they weren't good enough for Pink to wanna keep them around etc.

*I've always wanted to write a fusion that's meant to sorta be an in-between of Malachite (the physical manifestation of what a toxic relationship would look like as a character)

And Garnet (The Physical manifestation of what a healthy, loving relationship looks like)

And, yeah. That's basically what Andesine is supposed to be like. Because I feel like both Jasper and Spinel have the ability to heal from their trauma, and maybe even help each other find more healthier ways to deal with the pain, and confide in one another etc. (But also I feel like, especially in Jaspers case, both are way too stubborn to actually do it. At least for a very long time tbh) but- yeah.

I think both can help each other erase their fears, and maybe even self-worth given how very alike they are, but also different at the same time- just like the character, they need time to sorta realize this.
