[hey all! mod here~

wanted to let everyone know over the next few days I think I'm going to be redoing some of the earlier ask art- i have a much more solid idea of how i want to draw these characters now for this 'verse (esp sonic, shadow, and rouge-) so im going to take the time to do that before i start at my new clinic next week! asks will remain open, but it might take me a few days to start answering new ones again!

that said, i also have some rough Plot threads i've been laying, so hopefully when i get back into new asks, we can start diving into the meat of the story 👀]

So, Blaze. You and Amy huh? Damn, I owe my brother money - I was certain that you'd end up with Silver.

I know this can be kind of... personal, so I apologize if this is a bit rude, but how did you and Amy fall in love?

I do not blame you for thinking so; had Silver and I had more compatible preferences in romantic partners, I believe we might have been. I am still very close with him, and consider him my dearest friend. Actually, I don't exactly recall when we became such fast friends to begin with, there's a strange blank in my memory of this time... Regardless, have no fear, I do not find your assumption nor your question rude. I am always pleased to speak on such happy matters.

Actually, we have Silv to thank, in a sense...

Hmm, true, my light. You see, Amy and I became much closer over the past year and a half, particularly while helping Silver and Espio in planning their wedding.

Gah, Silv was such a mess, poor guy...

He is quite chaotic, isn't he? He was very... frazzled by the whole ordeal, but wished to have a proper ceremony for his Espio.

Es would have also loved something a little quieter... or just some papers to sign and be done.

Communication is... not their strong suit, I'm afraid. Either of them, they're... beautiful disasters, I shall say. I digress; Amy acted as a coordinator of the event, and as Silver's Best Woman, I had much interaction with her.

A lot of that early interaction was helping me explain to Shadow that "Best Man" wasn't a a gender neutral title...

You must forgive him, he is of a race that is above such trivial things as sex and dimorphism. But, yes, this did take... rather a while to get through to him. He was one of Silver's other groomsmen, along with Sonic and Tangle.

Then after the wedding stress was over~

Yes, I'm getting there- apologies, you know I can be rather long-winded. After the wedding, I continued spending time with Amy. Visiting her home here, becoming better acquainted with little Eve... We began having lunches together, or park visits, and eventually it... bloomed, I suppose. I had always felt softer around her than I knew how to explain, and the more time I spent in her company, the stronger the feeling became.

Now she's over whenever her duties to the Sol Empire will allow, and we soak up every minute we can~!

Hm, that we do. I cannot move here permanently, as Silver has, but I have been able to come quite often these days. Often enough I've even earned a nickname from precious Eve.

It suddenly seems that the Sonic we know may not be the same Sonic we're seeing.

Sonic - the Werehog we knew could talk, but it seems that the Werehog you transformed into couldn't. Also, we were not aware that you and Tails were often hungry in your youth.

Things are getting VERY interesting...

Wonder what else is different... You guys said you know about all of us through some kinda video games, right? Maybe they were just... simplified? I mean, game about some starving kids probably won't sell great, unless your world's even more messed up than Mobius.

I've been to a couple of different places, different.. universes. Places were people wore familiar faces but everything was just to the left- like I've said before, I never met their version of me in the those places, except I guess technically Camelot if you wanna count the Old King but...

I guess it makes sense there are other me's out there, too. I mean, Shads has that whole Tokyo incident, where he... ugh, what word does he love to use cause it's creepy? Possessed? One of his... variant, I guess. Said it felt if someone had swapped your gloves for an identical pair; all the familiar wear spots gone, but, still... your gloves. Still you.

Fuck, this is getting complicated... I think I've almost got this engine going, and those patches had numbed my knees pretty good. Hope Shadow's having luck at the coordinate site- maybe we can get good intel and get the hell back home, try to get some damn straight answers about what's going on around here...

Kits' even taller than me now, which, didn't see that one coming, hehe... Time's funny, you know? It drags on forever, 'til you turn around and realize, "Damn, was that really that long ago?" Feels like yesterday I found this scared little kit in the woods, but also like a lifetime ago.

Me and Tails have gone through a lot together, thick and thin- and in our cases, considering we were starving kids way more than half the time, take that as literal! He was so scared when I met him, and Chaos, I wasn't much better, honestly, just... old enough and been through enough I knew how to mask by then, even if I didn't know what it was called I was doing.

A long way, yeah... for sure. Been a long path for us.

[Hi! Glad you're having fun, lol, samesies this is a good time! And to answer your question, I don't have any yet for this verse specifically, but on my main art blog I do have an older Dark Sonic design I posted earlier tonight as part of a sketch dump for an AU (the dsign is a bit out of date already as the sketches were started a while ago but the general concept for how I'd draw Dark for this verse is there-). I've also got a design I tend to use for the werehog posted too, for a different AU- ignore the Mobian form for this one but the shifted were form is probably how I would draw him for the Askverse! Somehow I've never drawn Sonic's superform, lol- in terms of other forms like Excalibur and Darkspine, I've never drawn those and they likely won't have a part in Askverse (though I did make an Askverse King Arthur design to keep in my back pocket for some plot arc ideas down the road if you feel so inclined to take a look lol). I tend to post WIPs and other updates for this blog over there on my main art blog, so when I do make official Askverse versions of Sonic's other forms, that's where they'll appear first most likely!]

Hold on Amy! There's been some confusion! I assumed they were a couple considering how they were acting together - hugs, grooming, Sonic staring at Shadows butt pretty blatantly and Shadow didn't hit him - but if they're not then I should apologize to you and them for making things uncomfortable.

But seriously, if they're not a couple then they're so hard in denial it's kind of worrying. They're literally holding each other and calling each other pet names, how aren't they a couple?

They are rather... dense, those two...

It isn't you're fault, theaussieblue... Of course if you saw them acting all touchy and sweet you'd assume they're a couple- everyone assumes it 'cause they ARE! They just won't say it-

Sonic is... extremely afraid of labeling... anything. Like ever. Like if he calls it what it is, it's all gonna suddenly blow up in his face, or something. Meanwhile, all it would actually do is give Shadow a little peace of mind for once, since he likes labels because they're useful and don't leave so much room open for misinterpretation. Huh. All those years you chased Sonic, Amy, and he ends up with Shadow (although you ended up with Shadow first). Do you ever wish you could go back and tell yourself the future?

Do you know how long those two have been dancing around one another?! Since before Shadow and I even thought of getting together-! Basically since the ARK! AHHHHH I'm so happy for them!

How did it happen??? What did you do to get them to admit it? It had to be one of you guys, Sonic's too... Sonic about it and Shadow will cling to the status quo until he's dead and gone before risks making a move himself-

As for going back to tell my past self? I.. haven't thought of it like that, before. Honestly? I... probably not. No, wait- definitely not. I think it was a time of my life I needed to get through as is, you know? I had a crush on Sonic as a little kid, sure, I mean, he saved me when I still too unsure to save myself! But I think most of all, I just, I really wanted to be in love, you know? More than anything, and I attached that want to Sonic... And later, to Shadow. I tried to make them fit into a box they just... didn't. Sonic and I had a long talk about this once, years ago, when I started getting feelings for Shadow and he started reciprocating them.

I took the past four years to focus on myself and Eve, and focus on learning how to co-parent with Shadow- we're fine, by the way, and he's back to being one of my best friends. I, uh... heh, discovered, some stuff? About myself? Along the way?

Tails was still a tiny thing when we met, only about four, so anything he learned kinda had to start with me, heh, poor kid. But! He took what I taught him and went way way farther, so, ya know. He's the real gear-head, I'm just the in-a-pinch maintenance guy. I'll work on my Tornado and Tails' Tornado 2 a bit, but I won't touch the Cyclone, that thing's a little too complicated for me to mess with.

Besides the bad knees, what else made you want to slow down, Sonic?

My knees suck, don't get me wrong, but if I ever have to slow down, go ahead and put me out of my misery!

... Jokes, jokes, I- mostly. But! So what, I gotta wear some silly, annoying knee braces that kinda chafe and rub blisters into the back of my calves when I'm running, big whoop, I can deal. So sometimes I have to drop down wherever I'm standing because it feels like my knees are about to implode on themselves, and sometimes the pain gets a little unbearably blinding; again, I'm good! All good!

No slowing down, not me, not ever, no sir.

Besides, even the little bit of Chaos healing Shads slipped in before I told him to knock it off took the edge off, and see? Check me out, crouching on the wing and everything, no pain! ... Okay, okay, semi-bearable levels of pain, but, that's just because my right knee got whacked when I was thrown from the seat and the right knee's my old injury anyway, so, there. It'll get better, be sore and swollen a few days and then be done. Easy.
