been sitting on these pages for a long while, but im still very proud of the mood setup. looking back at it, im not super happy with how the overall story progression is written so i figure itd be better to spend the energy working on other things at the moment

i'm very sad about the recent closure of club penguin journey. here are some custom paperdoll items i did for them during my very very very short time as a designer there

these two above, the Shrimp Lei and the Cheese Skirt, were at the Ski Village prize booth during The Fair 2024 - i was so happy to see penguins wearing these, even if i wasn't very proud of the papers

these three, the Puffle Fall Sweater/Pumpkin Sweater/Fez Hat were going to be included in the October Penguin Style catalog. i was super proud of these

last thing i worked on. the sketch and lodge was done by 3 other designers total, i only did the lineart and placeholder colors for the background. this was a project so secret only a handful of people knew about it, with it being kept from even most of staff. there's this mystery lodge seen from ski hill in the og game never elaborated on. this was intended to be a secret area akin to the dojo or iceberg in really early clubp. youd access it by hitting the "ridge run" sign on ski hill with a snowball and doing a perfect game of sled racing on that track (all ice patches hit, no obstacles hit). there was no interior planned for the lodge, but you'd get a golden sled by walking up to the door

onto the unreleased stuff. halloween was going to be "crisp air halloween". or "fresh air halloween". tbh i dont know which, because my files call it fresh air, but i thought we usually called it crisp air... basically, crank up the darkness, crank up the glowy bits, and cover the whole island in fog. i was given a moodboard and room direction by an admin. most of the island would be covered in cobbled paths, gas lanterns, and victorian architecture, but welcome room in particular was going to be a farm area with a dirt patch, full of crops and pumpkins that players would spawn in the midst of. there would be an abandoned, unenterable farmhouse on the left, with a bunch of spooky animations in the windows and such. the fountain has been drained and infested with spiders, and on the right was a barn, which would actually be quite cozy inside rather than spooky. i wasnt in charge of the lookout (second story of this building) but i put hay sticking out of the window because i wanted to suggest a cozy hay pile with a pillow fort up there

there was lots of rooms already done for this party, and they all look incredible. everyone working on rooms used those as style guides for how the rest of the rooms would look. if those end up getting posted later, ill edit this post with a link

the fall fair. i made the welcome room. the hat on the fluffy statue i stole from the cpj server icon for the summer kickoff, and the bobbing apples are animated slightly. the welcome building was going to be a circus tent, but at the suggestion of other team members i made it a jesters hat so the silhouette wouldn't be so similar to the carousel. speaking of, the carousel was probably one of the most annoying things i've ever had to animate. the horses going around the center pillar meant they had to be hidden and unhidden at certain times, and the entire thing was tweened which is just. well to not go on a overly technical tangent, it just sucked hard. the carousel took me more than a week alone. i would've made it not so eye searingly red, but at a certain point it was far too much hassle. the first thing people saw ingame for the last party, and this room still being banner of the cpj discord, so it being the last thing people see of the game ever is..... well, interesting to say the least. i hope people remember it fondly

i also did some lighting and as2 edits to marooned lagoon (meaning i just simplified the shading and ensured all lineart was black). marooned lagoon appeared in the 2014 fair in ogcp, which took place during sunset, so the room needed some brightening and i toned down the blue light coming from the water reflecting off of the rest of the room.

operation veggie villain. herbert's summit lair was the very first room i made for cpj. everything except for the trees, rock, and some corn assets were drawn from scratch. i took special care to ensure this room was as accurate to the lair from the mission as possible, down to the exact placement and number of every corn cob and kernel. the ski villages are room edits i made, with the projector asset being stolen from the psa missions.

the psa hq rebuild phase 2 is an edit that required a good bit of drawing for the fixed screen structures and such. the deadline for this room was a single day because the team realized only last second they needed it iirc, so i really should've rushed the job, but i put so many little details in it because i kept being like, wait this would be so fun! i left the cracks in the wall where the desk initially broke through, patched up the broken wires with electrical tape, there's the closet half open to tease the epf of course, and i realize this was blocked by the ui in the end, but the crate in the corner holds various electronics, including parts of the popcorn bomb. lore-wise, in my head they were going to salvage the good parts of the machines. and of course we can't forget the little trashcan in the corner :] it holds the stuffing from the gift shop salon chair. i loved the idea that despite all of the popcorn and mess still around, they bothered to use the tiny trashcan
