- ̗̀ transitioning between semesters: a roseplans masterlist -
Hello everyone! As we all wind down and finish off our fall semesters, we finally feel like we can breathe. For the weeks or month you all have off for break between semesters (I’m going off the US school system here) it can be easy to fall back into old habits. I myself am extremely bad about wasting time and falling back into lazy habits. Not saying that giving yourself some ME time and winding down from a hectic semester is bad, but you don’t want to head into next semester unprepared. So here are just a few suggestions for how I spend my break before transitioning into next semester!
- TIME: It’s great to have free time, especially during break, but don’t let it all go to your head! Fill your time with something productive. Find a new hobby, or a new craft! Work on that project you’ve been putting off for weeks. Try baking, or cooking. Job hunt. Work. Clean. If you feel yourself falling back into old habits of doing nothing (which, trust me, I know can be very relaxing) try to break out of the system, and focus on something else!
- EXERCISE: Now, this one isn’t for everyone, but I’m putting it on this list because it’s helped me a lot. When I feel bored, or lonely, or stressed out, the best thing to do is just get up and move. I know some people can’t, or it doesn’t affect them the same way, but if you find yourself antsy or bored, try this! You can go for a run, you can do yoga, or you can just dance. Going to the gym can be boring and mind numbing sometimes, but it doesn’t have to be! Just do something that you like that gets you moving, and see if it helps at all!
- PASSION: What’s something that you love doing? Have you had time for it recently? Don’t let your free time swallow you up with things you just like doing, what do you love doing? I always find myself happier after focusing on something I’m passionate about, and time seems to fly by when I’m doing it! Writing, editing, baking, creating, even watching that movie you’ve been dying to see. Anything you love that you haven’t had time to do, do it now!
- PREPARE: What are your classes for next semester? Is there anything you need to purchase? What about text books? Can you access the syllabus? Anything you can do to get ready for your classes next semester, you should take advantage of. If you have to travel to get to your school or university, like me, I’d suggest going back so that you have a least a day or two on campus before your actual classes start. It’s really difficult transitioning back into school, especially after break. So giving yourself a day or two to readjust to campus and prepare yourself for classes can make or break your first week, at least in my experience!
So here you have it! My first shot at creating a masterlist. I know not everything on here applies to everyone, but these suggestions have helped me a lot, and so I decided to share to see if it could help someone else! So give it a shot if you can, and let me know how it worked for you! I’d love to hear any stories, suggestions, requests or questions you might have on this masterlist or anything studyblr related! You can message me [ H E R E ] or feel free to email me at [email protected]!
Please don’t forget to like and reblog this post and tag #roseplans with anything you’d like me to see!! Thank you and enjoy!!

hi! what app do u use for ur printables and what app do u use for the photo display thing on the posts of the printables ? :)
Hi there! So, I used to have photoshop, but I couldn’t figure out how to transfer it when i got a new computer, and I just haven’t gotten it again. So for my printables and the preview of them, I actually just create them on pages (its basically word for Apple). Then, I turn them into PDFs so I can export them and people can download them. I also just played around and made the preview in pages too. Super easy, nothing hard, but it looks fancy right?
#faq#studyblr#asks#but i tricked you right? ;)#anyone could do it i bet i've just done this a lot#its like i hardly need photoshop anymore but it would be nice might get it again sometime#Anonymous

- ̗̀ study-isms printable pack #2 -
Hey everyone! I’m back with another printable pack! I’m sure this will look familiar to a lot of you, as this is my take on Cornell Style notes.
- These sheets are super effective and easy to use. Each section has an important part in your notes. In the NOTES section, pretty straight forward, just jot down what you hear/read. In the CUES section, you’re going to write down questions you might have, important vocab, things you want to follow up on or work on ect. In the KEY section, you’re going to focus on the one or two most important, or key, points. In the SUMMARY section, you’re just going to summarize everything you’ve written down in a short and concise paragraph.
- That’s it! This is a method I learned a few years ago and I’ve benefited a lot from. Originally, it was just the Notes, Cues, and Summary section, but I found adding the Key section helped me round it all out. I really recommend trying this style out for lectures and or chapter readings.
- You can find and download all three colors [ h e r e ] in the ‘note taking’ folder. -
PLEASE do not redistribute these, or post these anywhere else. I work hard on these, and I don’t want to have to put a water mark on them bc I personally find that distasteful. So if you do use or save these, please like and reblog this post and tag #studyisms !! Thank you and I hope you find these helpful! Enjoy!

hey the day at a glance part of ur printable is super cool. i just wanted to tell u that i love the idea ^-^
Thank you!! That was something I haven’t really seen before, but something I’ve done that helps you see what you’ve done at what time throughout the day. Like it’s helped me see what time is my most productive time, and what I spend a lot of my time on, just at a quick glance. But again, thanks! I really appreciate it. :)

tips for group projects (at school)
One thing you will always face with in school is group work. I’ve had great experiences with group work and horrible ones, it depends on how the group is communicating.
Hopefully your group partners take the project seriously enough to not leave you with all the work in your hands, that truly sucks and unfortunately the attitude has to come from them, there’s not a lot you can do about it. However everyone must do their part at a minimum level so if you have somebody who isn’t doing their work or even trying, hold them responsible as a group.
Having people skills and solving problems together is important, even if you prefer to work alone.
So here I shall present to u lovelies from experience some of my personal tips, as usual, to save yal from a lot of stress in group projects at school -hopefully!
Google Docs is hands down the most useful thing I have ever encountered for group work. It is The Best™.
Imagine you have a group paper to write. You can write your document online and share it with any other users. You and all the members of your group can be writing and editing the document in real time. It will colour code what each person is writing.
In my last project we couldn’t meet in school so we just scheduled a time for us to all join online to work. We could all work together, each in the comfort of their own bedroom, so we worked on the project faster. Google Docs provides a chat too so conversation while working is made easy.
There is no need for flashdrives. Everyone can access the updated version of the paper wherever they are from their computer, tablet or phone.
There’s a revision history section where you can see old versions of the document, sorted by date and who made the change. You can see every detailed change made so far and go back if you think you made a mistake changing something.
If the paper is long you can chose to view an outline where you can go directly to each part, just like an index or table of contents. No need to scroll and search through the pages like a crazy person and you can divide everything neatly.
It provides already made templates, including essays, reports, book reports, project proposals, etc., so everyone can more easily agree on clean formats, fonts and colours.
You don’t have to worry about file formats either: it opens, edits and saves in Microsoft Word and PDF files.
There is also Google Slides (for presentations/Powerpoint), Google Sheets (for spreadsheets/Excel) and Google Forms (for forms, surveys, applications, invites…), with the same features, all 4 free, available both 4 Android and iOS.
++ Google Slides lets you time your presentation and train with your notes bellow each slide. You can train with your phone!
ALSO: all the changes are automatically saved as you type, no save buttons.
Every opinion matters and should be taken into consideration if given seriously. The good thing (and basically the whole point of group work) is getting ideas from different angles and understanding that the person next to you may have a different idea than yours that you might agree but you never would of thought alone.
This means we all have different backgrounds and different brains, and building a project together should allow ideas to flow, especially if it’s a creative one.
If appropriate to the type of project, bring a paper and brainstorm, by writing down ALL of the group’s ideas. Even the silly or crazy ones. Then together, narrow down to the top 3 ideas. You could try to work with one or two or all of them.
Don’t be the leader all the time or talk too much. Listen to others and debate everyone’s opinions, including yours. Make sure you understand what someone is saying before you weigh in with your opinion about it. Give them the benefit of the doubt.
If by the contrary you have a tendency to follow whatever the group decides, please please please don’t be afraid to speak up. Everyone has good AND bad ideas.
Also if there is some kind of personal conflict, stick to professional discussion, try to work it through face to face respectful calm talk, and try to come to an understanding.
Keeping contact with the teacher during the different phases of the project is very beneficial:
makes you look more interested in the project.
let’s the teacher know you are not the doing everything in the last minute.
informs the teacher you are facing and overcoming your problems as a group.
the teacher might signalize what is best to change or cut, wich otherwise you wouldn’t have known.
also if you have [terrible] group partners, this is a way to distinguish yourself from them.
This contact can be made by:
asking questions about clarification on what is asked or the organization of the project.
the correction of drafts of your work.
email or in person.
Of course all teachers are different, some can be more helping and correct drafts, others may want you to do everything alone, but most teachers appreciate this kind of interest and participation and take it into consideration when grading.
A research from the University of Chicago supports that when people share food, they’re more likely to cooperate and build trust. It has to do with our animal instincts!!
Trying to create a safe positive and friendly environment to work in makes group work a lot easier. So next time ya group partners meet, share some snacks/gum, it might help!
ALSO: a key thing i wanted to add is to KEEP MEETINGS SHORT. Meetings are good to understand everyone’s pov but horrible to waste time, so focus on the task at hand or revelant subjects, divide and conquer.
good luck babes!

hey hi hey!! recently i’ve noticed that there are so many new studyblrs who joined the community yayay!! i’d like to welcome you all :-) i hope it helps you gain the motivation you want/need and achieve study goals!! in relation to that i also want to help [new] studyblrs grow their audience!! while having thousands of followers or notes is not a qualification nor it is important, i just want to help you get your blog out there and connect with more people!! this is based off my own experience, but if you have more tips that i didn’t include feel free to add them! part of the purpose of having a studyblr is to help right? let’s get to it!!
1. follow blogs and say hello
first off, the term ‘studyblr’ is a name for the whole studyblr community. if you’re looking for specific subject type blogs, carry on!!
browse through tumblr and follow blogs that you like/interest you!! there are also specific types of blogs for people studying medicine (medblr), law (lawblr), art (artblr), science (scienceblr), music (musicblr), english/literature (writeblr), or language (langblr). there are so many more tbh, too long to list!!
anyways, go on to their blog and message them and say hi! introduce yourself and of course you can say you’re new to the community, im sure they will be happy to answer you publicly and that way you can get noticed by other blogs!!
2. post original content
posting original content can circulate around the community and you do get noticed!! many blogs use their url (or something else) to track posts that are tagged with them. (but pls check if they do track tags!! not everyone does) when posting original content like photos or tutorials/masterposts, tag them with: studyblr, smartblr, studyspiration, studyspo, studying, or anything else related to your post!! in this case i also track my url #studentcandy!! i check them once in a while and reblog/like posts from anyone who used my tag :)
3. use a theme!!
there are many many themes out there, and i have a habit of always changing my theme bc there are so many good ones!! i’ve gathered my favorite themes so check ‘em out and use ‘em to spice up your blog!!
very nice themes
my fav tbh
minimal and clean
another one!!
cute ones
4. have an ‘about me’ page
this helps your audience get to know you!! include your name, age (if you wish), country, subjects you do, goals, favorite movies or music, your dream university/job and anything else you’d like to add!! when i browse blogs i always read the ‘about me’ pages bc they are pretty interesting heheh c:
5. tag your posts!
organise your posts by putting them into categories! if you look at my tags page, it’s easier to find resources and stuff so if you’re looking for motivation, you can just browse through my motivation tag instead of going through my archive for them!! do this as well for notes, tips, resources, masterposts, and literally you can use whatever tag you like, organisation style is up to you!!
6. be active!!
that doesn’t mean you have to be on tumblr 24/7!! of course you have to study and do your thaaang but be active and reblog posts, share your stuff and talk to other studyblrs!! they’re very friendly and im sure they would love to talk to you!! or if you find yourself busy, you can always queue posts which always helps to keep your blog active!!
i rly hope this was helpful!! thanks for reading xx, daniella
