Actual good first-time college student advice:
Wear jeans/pants that “breathe” and bring a sweater, even if it’s scorching hot out, until you know which building blasts the AC to 60 degrees F and which feels like a sauna
Backpacks with thick straps are your friend!  Messenger bags are cool and all but if you’re commuting with a lot of stuff, symmetrically styled backpacks are better for your back
You are your own person and you can walk out whenever you need to or want to, so long as you’re not disrupting the class.  Meaning you can go to the bathroom without permission, take a breather if you’re anxious, answer an important phone call, etc.
If you don’t like the class on the first day, if you can- DROP THAT CLASS AND TAKE ANOTHER ONE!  It’ll only get worse from there!
If you can, take a class outside your major; it’s a good break from your expected studies.
You are in charge of your schedule.  Your adviser and guidance counselor is there to ‘advise and guide’ but if you don’t like certain classes and you can substitute for others, that’s your choice.
Consequently, if you are changing anything drastic in your plan, talk with your adviser and instructors.
Pay attention to your credit hours and grades.  Never leave this to the last week of school, you will be sorry and stressed beyond belief!
Unless it’s a lab book or otherwise specified, go to the class for a week or so before buying an expensive textbook.  Some classes, while having it on their required list, do not actually use the textbook a whole lot and you might find some of it scanned online.  Rent if you can or buy used online (schools actually don’t give discounts).  Use your best judgement on what you think you need.
Tell the people who go up to you selling or advertising things you are not interested in that you are in a rush to class and don’t have time to listen to them.  It’s less rude and they’ll leave you alone.
The smaller the class, the better it is to have some sort of acquaintanceship with a couple classmates.  They might save your ass if you are absent one day or need to study.  And talking with them makes the time go by faster without it being so insufferable.
You don’t need to join a club or sport, but internships are cool and useful!
If you can afford it, take a day off once or twice each semester if you’re too exhausted.  Just be aware of what you missed and if it was worth missing!
Your health is the most important, this goes for mental health too!!  Note: College-age/upper teens is when mental disorders like depression and anxiety are most commonly diagnosed.  Most schools have therapy services, especially during exam time.  Look into it if you need to!
Communicate with your professor if you are having trouble with something.  Anything.
Eat and stay hydrated.  Bring a water bottle and snack to class.
All-nighters will happen but never go over 36 hours without sleep.
It’s going to be hard and there will be times you might think about giving up.  This WILL happen.  You just have to make sure what you’re doing isn’t making you absolutely miserable and/or there is something rewarding and positive to look forward to at the end!

We have here some photos belonging to my sister, she still has a dream to complete her study abroad.
All of us know how much we were waiting the secondary school to finish ,
because We are very excited to start at university, but unfortunately here my sister started for a week after waiting and exhausting for a long time to achieve her dream of being an English teacher like my father. The war started and destroyed everything and the universities were not spared from the criminal enemy. Even now she is trying to stay connected with her studies despite the harsh conditions in the tent and the lack of internet, laptop, electricity or anything that a person needs.
Please do not hesitate to help my family and everyone in taking a simple right which is education. Help her to get out of this genocide and start her life anew.

I love the feeling of a new journal and getting some studying in before my first set of quizzes (^v^). I had some spare time too so I picked up some library books. I've been understanding what we've been learning for the past 3 weeks but I'm still a little nervous for my quizzes (ーー;). I'm hoping to make time to destress everyday and build routine since all the nice habits I was developing got thrown off by me getting sick :(

I mostly just binge watched some show and did my movie analysis assignment today. I've been so bored of eating plain foods for the past two weeks while recovering my illness (T_T). I was able to get in a little bit of exercise before I got tired and rested for the day.

Since I've been so sick my plants have become a little neglected so I got to work on making them look better (;一_一). I also finished my argumentative essay I've been slowly working on all week. I really like my professor as she's pretty chill and I've been enjoying her essay prompts, making it easy for me to work on them.

I've been super busy with starting my Communications class but also really happy (^_^). I was able to get a really good professor last minute when signing up for this class as my History class got cancelled. I've had to run around and attend meetings here and there for financial aid but things are slowing down a little. Now I just have to focus on working hard on my upcoming assignments and quiz .....φ(・∀・*). I'm starting to slowly recover from my sickness and am still taking it easy but want to get back into exercising to keep myself active. (I've included some more photos of Arizona)

How to get things done ✔️📝📚

Methods I use to get all my to-dos done each day! Hope these will help with the stressed to blessed challenge or just life in general!
Create a set time each day that you will work on tasks
Find a time each day that you will always start eventually you will find it easier to start each day on that time.
Eat the frog
Whatever task is scaring you the most or is the one you dont want to do start with that.
During your set productive time always start with the worst one and get it out of the way.
If it’s a massive task that will take a long time make it so you at least start it. Set a timer work for that long.
Race the timer
Estimate how long you think each task will take set a timer than try and beat the timer.
This will help with anxiety because you will most likely way over estimate how long each task will take and you will get even more satisfaction knowing you finished a task and got it done in a timely manner.
5 minutes rule
If it takes less than 5 minutes do it immediately. Don’t wait as soon as you think of it do it
No phone during breaks.
I’m a full supporter of taking breaks but you should never scroll social media during breaks!!!!
You are more likely to stop working if you get interested in your phone!!
I recommend during breaks tidying your space, stretching, making a snack, clearing out some unused tabs on your computer, deleting spam from your email, anything that lets your brain have a break without a ton of stimulation.
Pomodoro timers for long hauls
If you absolutely need to do a long work block you should be taking frequent breaks. I use the YouTube pomodoro timers often typically it’s work for 25 minutes and break for 5.
You become ineffective if you just work work work. Those influencers who say the study for 4hrs straight are not using time wisely and are going to burn out fast.
Do not multitask.
It is not more effective and won’t save you time.
Focus on getting one thing done at a time and you won’t have to go back and fix as many mistakes.

Wow so two days after my last post I immediately got super sick and had to leave Arizona. Luckily I'm on the mend and was able to enjoy myself a little before leaving. I've been feeling a lot better though with the right meds and have been taking it easy. Hopefully I'll be better before my class starts in 3 days (-_-;).

So happy to be in Arizona!! It rained on our way in but it wasn't too bad. For dinner we ate at this pretty good italian place nearby. Tomorrow we'll be going hiking and I hope I'll get more nice photos and look at birds.

Hii life update, I feel like there's been mainly no need to update on my life for the past two weeks since I've been doing the same things almost everyday due to my summer class being delayed until July. I've been enjoying my summer a lot though and will likely be posting more since I'll be heading out to Arizona in 3 days. I'm so excited to see all the wildlife out there (^v^).

Had a busy morning but overall chill day. I started off my morning by hiking and doing a plant identification class which was super interesting. It was nice to talk to people who had the same interests as me. Honestly though after the hike I had a complete energy crash and napped the rest of the day. I didn't get around to what I wanted to do but I was fine with it.
