hello there!! have you been doing well, angel? if not, this is a gentle but firm reminder to get your shit together. but hey, why shouldnât you be proud of yourself? you have conquered so many years of your life and - no donât you dare try to be modest, every single tiny achievement matters. + Iâm here to tell you that failing is NORMAL. everyone fails at one thing or another but succeed at another. And if you feel that you arenât successful at anything, then darling you havenât tried hard enough. alright alright, before I begin ranting out of the topic, letâs get started.
note: this is a part of the get your shit together masterposts. To view the other articles in this category and to view the topics in this that Iâll be covering in future, go here.
avoiding negative feelings
the biggest reason why I donât have that many negative thoughts (note that I said âmanyâ and not all. I too have bad days once  in a while) now because I realized that I, and only I, am completely on my side. Iâm there for me at all times, throughout my life. And doesnât it sound stupid to be against the only player on my team?
once i realized that, it become so much easier to work at par with myself and to love myself. I became more patient with myself, started embracing my flaws and loving the person that I was. sounds pretty cringy? thatâs only because we donât talk about these things and we feel they arenât worth talking about. However if you really want to conquer life, loving yourself is the most important layer in this many layered cheesecake and yes, i like food.
cheat code: so how do avoid negative feelings? the answer lies in realizing your worth and capabilities and being on the same team as your own self.
dealing with negative feelings
now we come to the part when you are having negative feelings. Everyone has bad days and negative feelings but you can deal with âem in a better way than feeling low and wasting your entire day. and hereâs way number one -
figure out what triggered you. when I have a bad day I sit down and list down what exactly provocated the bad day. these were my reasons -
someone said I was being annoying
I didnât get much done that day
I felt gross and untidy
then, find solutions to those problems.
hey, everyone donât have to like you. you are proud of yourself and thatâs enough.
Make a list. Do those things. I donât care if youâre tired, do those things. If you donât do them, youâll feel guilty and thatâs never fun.
god, just go take a shower again. (taylor, you stink.)
as you see, the problems were really petty and solutions are pretty simple. but remember that these problems arenât negligible. this method works bc once you figure out solutions to them, you figure out a method how to fight them so that the same problems to affect you again. Now I know that when I feel gross I need to take a shower and not roam around like a stinky animal. See what I mean?
lastly, realize that these things are not worth you losing control of yourself and walking around like a dead zombie #rip.
sometimes I have negative feelings because I feel under confident or not sure about something. when this happens, which leads me to way number two - I have a convo with myself.
ok mate, why do you feel down? um I donât feel sure about this presentation. what if I screw this up? what if the teacher is like this is so shit?? what if I never get to eat donuts again???
seriously? well, I can assure you that donuts arenât going extinct. as for this interview, listen child. you have prepared for this shit, you can do it. doNâT freak out and donât think you canât ace this. you can, trust me.
talking to myself not only helps calm me down but also gives me a sense of purpose. That I have promised myself to ace this and I cannot let myself down.Â
loving yourself
understanding why
why should you love yourself?
bc you yourself crave the feeling to be loved. isnât being in love simply magical? Well, so is being in love with yourself. it is even more magical tbh. this is bc you are with yourself 24/7 and when you start loving yourself you become much more aware of yourself and you have able to work much better since you are able to identify your flaws and strengths. Remember when you used to bitch about that girl on whom every guy had a crush and you none? (same fam #LongLiveTheHobos) Turns out that someone does have a huge crush on you. Love yourself, your brain craves for you.
take yourself out on dates
raise your hand if you think dates are great. I agree. They are even better when you go out to a restaurant bc like food is great. it is super important that you take your own self out of dates and not only bc you are hungry but bc a conqueror (yAS THOSE ARE MY PEOPLE) knows the value of taking time off for himself. These are not simply slogging through the weekend and binge watching Netflix, mind you. Thatâs a huge waste of time, froind. A conqueror makes a date official. cheat code: remember that your dates have to be memorable and most importantly, well earned. Hereâs a checklist to make your dates more special.
positive energy, check.
more smiles and hugs, check.
a happy mindset, check.
and how about a list of things that you can do for yourself?
the turn a bad day around challenge
hereâs the first challenge of the get your shit together series! I introduced this bc readers said that the topics on here were easy to say but harder to carry out.I do agree with that but hey, I never said that getting your shit together would be easy. by completing the challenges you can implement the ideas Iâm trying to propagate here and also get a feel of having that particular area under your control.
task one: when you are having a bad day, sit down. list down the reasons why it was a bad day and why are you feel down. it can be as simple as not getting enough sleep and feeling grumpy.
task two: list down the solutions that you can use to overcome those problems.
task three: remind yourself that these petty problems cannot cost you your valuable time and that you are a badass bitch and you can handle everything.
task four: make a to-do list. I know you havenât done no shit today so now is the time to shine. donât put like a thousand things on the list tho lmao. three - four would do enough for the moment.
task five: do those things. seriously, do them.
task six: (and this is the nicest one) treat yo'self!! you have literally turned around a bad day and done so much shit! you have successfully conquered this day, a day which would have been spent lamenting and getting nothing done. maybe go treat yourself to some delicious pumpkin pie from a bakery (share with me pls); you really do deserve it!! Iâm so proud of you :^)
and thatâs it, itâs a wrap! if you have any questions/suggestions regarding anything I said up there (or maybe you just wanna talk about food), feel free to send in a message! my other masterposts are here and to request a masterpost, leave your question in my ask box!
I hope you all are well, stay safe and conquer life, you amaze conqueror :â)

types of study breaks for every situation
if you realize youâve been studying for hours: grab a snack to refuel your body and watch a sitcom to refuel your brain. then back to the books.
if youâre feeling stressed out: take some deep breaths, text your friends, maybe stare at a wall for a few minutes. gather yourself.
if you canât seem to focus: get moving and get outside. take out the garbage, check your mail box, maybe walk your dog. just get moving and get fresh air. itâll help bring you back.
if thereâs something else going on in your life and you canât get it off your mind: write down whatâs going through your head, sort of like a diary entry. itâll help you work things out.
if youâre just mentally and physically exhausted: set a timer for 25-30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and youâll hit REM and youâll wake up feeling just as tired. once you wake up, get some caffeine in you.
if the material is boring as hell: find another way to study. see if thereâs a crash course video online about it or draw out what youâre trying to learn in diagrams and pictures to make it fun.
if people around you wonât shut up: listen to some music. soundtrack and classical music is always good because they wonât absorb you as much as music with lyrics. white noise (like ocean waves, rain sounds, etc.) also works.
if you only half understand a concept: call/message a friend whoâs not in the class and try to teach the material to them. this will help you mentally work through the material and will help you remember it as well.

Itâs sad how much of what is taught in school is useless to over 99% of the population.
There are literally math concepts taught in high school and middle school that are only used in extremely specialized fields or that are even so outdated they arenât used anymore!

I canât believe Iâve posted for 50 consecutive days! Since starting this challenge, Iâve learned how to keep a bullet journal, made a lot of amazing friends in the studyblr community, and received straight Aâs in all my assignments and exams.
Thanks to everyone whoâs made my first 50 days of this challenge so wonderful!  Â

You either like me or you donât. It took me twenty-something years to learn how to love myself, I donât have that kinda time to convince somebody else.

10 Tips for Starting University
Consider getting a backpack if youâre gonna do a lot of walking / carrying a lot of stuff to and from uni
Bring all types of clothes. NB this does not mean bring all your clothes donât do that. Bring clothes for professional stuff, going out, casual clothes, comfy clothes. Bring a bit of everything.
Stock up on easy but semi-healthy snacks. It prevents you from snacking on unhealthy thing, and theyâre a+ if you have back-to-back lectures
Keep a plastic bag in your bag / backpack!!! This has saved my laptop and my books from getting ruined so many times when a downpour has snuck up on me, and I could just put my laptop and books in the plastic bag.Â
Make a consistent sleep schedule for yourself, even if you donât have a set time you have to get up every day. Itâll make you feel more organised and make you sleep better
Break down big projects / assignments into smaller tasks and start working on them early. You donât want to be writing your 3,000 word essay the night before.Â
Get a hobby or get involved. Find something that you enjoy doing outside of school, that isnât watching Netflix. It can be absolutely anything.
Donât go out or do anything if you really donât want to, but try to keep an open mind and give things a shot. NB this is not an encouragement to do anything illegal donât do that. Even if you donât end up loving it, who knows whatâll happen or who youâll meet.
Try your best not to eat junk 24/7. Itâs hard to be super healthy in uni, but make sure to get some nutrition, or else youâre gonna feel like shit
Youâre not going to have everything figured out straight away. Just go with it. Your organisation system doesnât fit your module structures? Change it. You end up pulling an all nighter to finish your essay? Change your planning / organisation to prevent it happening again. Be flexible and adapt.Â

how to stay productive
i rly srsly have a problem with this especially after school ))): like im always on tumblr or something so i never get anything done rip
so im gonna try to practice what i preach from now on!!! lets get into it!
preparing for productivity
when you get home from school or work, give yourself a 20-50 minute break. lets be honest we all have those days when we try to jump right into doing whatever the heck you need to do right when you get home but after like 20 minutes youâre distracted and a mess and not getting any work done. the easy way to prevent this is to give yourself time to do all of that before you start your work so youâre not distracted later (give urself an hour if its been an especially long day). eat a snack, wash ur face tbh, whip your hair, idk what you crazy kids do but do it. srsly. just get it out of the way.
get everything ya need in one place. this is kinda a no-brainer especially since itâs all over tumblr. but srsly why get up every 5 minutes to get a pencil or something? just have it all in the first place. ez.
turn off your phone or put it in airplane mode. personally i like to pretend like im so determined and focused but every time i see the little t at the top of my phone im just gone. donât let it distract you. if you need the internet, use your laptop/computer for less distractions.
set the mood. idk what you do, whether thats playing the moana soundtrack hanging up fairy lights, putting on your diffuser or playing rap music; idk man! do it.
actually doing the thing
alright so now u got ur fairy lights, ur mildliners, ur face washed, and ur apple juice (??? apple juice is lit???). now throw yourself into it. literally just force yourself to do it. donât know how??? welll!!! not sure how to help you! (no im kidding donât leave yet pls)
use the touch it once rule. this is a favorite of the studyblr community. it means that everything on your to-do list, everything you know you need to accomplishâ start it. just tell yourself âiâll only do 3 math problemsâ or âiâll only work on this resume for 5 minutesâ. they say the hardest part is always starting. chances are, that unfinished worksheet is going to really bother you and youâll end up finishing it. if not, then just come back to later and touch it again and again until you finish it. tedious, but it works.
use the âtwo minute ruleâ. i got this one from @emmastudies! this rule means that if anything on your list takes 2 minutes or less to do (checking your emails, checking your tumblr inbox or something), do it. just get it done.
keep it balanced. do like one easy task and then one hard task so youâre getting everything done but not overwhelming yourself either.
break down your tasks. donât just look at a giant task like âwrite a 3-page paperâ. break it down into smaller subtasks like âplan paper. draft paper. edit paper. type and print paper.â its much less scary to look at.
visualize procrastination as a monster. i do NOT take credit for this one; i saw it in a masterpost somewhere so this isnt mine!!! but basically i read that you should look at procrastination as a scary opponent ready to eat you alive (and honestly it is). tackle it. donât let it attack. be so scared of it that you donât let it get anywhere near you.
honestly just do it and keep at it. stop letting procrastination kick your ass so that you can be productive and stay productive. the work is itâs own reward (:
