I just absolutely love beads in braided hair in general, they’re so pretty! I know I could never pull it off myself, I always hated my hair being braided with my entire soul

But every time I see someone with beads I just ASHAHGSA- I wanna compliment them until I can’t breathe, it just makes people look so goddamn pretty!!

DAILY OC FUN FACT #6:

Penne doesn’t wear shoes, instead she wears black sock-leggings underneath her skirt. She’s not worried about running around without shoes. As soon as she steps on a shard of glass it’s over, she’ll be wearing shoes for the rest of her life.

She would be hyperfixated over Minecraft for A LONG TIME after playing, genuinely. But she doesn’t really like playing alone so she always asks either her dads or her sibling to play with her.

Khonjin would probably play Minecraft with Penne the most out of the three (he's addicted to it/silly+hc). Tbh though he’s just glad it wasn’t Roblox-

”Bacon, I didn’t even need to think about it.” She laughs with a slight hint of embarrassment, considering she’s trying to keep an eye on her weight. “Bacon’s the best on pizza, but honestly I'm okay with anything else as long as it’s not onions..”

“I- I don’t know what it is about onions, but the way that crunch feels against my teeth when I bite through a piece of onion…. it just feels so gross on my teeth..” She shuttered and scrunched her face. “My dad says I’m being dramatic, Angel says it’s a ‘sensory issue’ but I don’t even know what that means- so I guess my dad’s right.”

DAILY OC FUN FACT #5:

Both Noel and Penne are canonically on the Autism spectrum.

They’re on different levels, obviously since they’re different people. Noel has level 1, meaning she does have trouble with communication and socializing, eye contact, etc, but it’s easier for her to mask. Although she does often get burnout from masking for so long.

While Penne has level 2, meaning she also has trouble with communication and socialization, eye contact, etc, BUT it’s much more difficult for her to mask than it is for Noel to. She has a more difficult time trying to read social cues and communication skills, making it harder for her to try and fit in or ‘act neurotypical’.

There are obviously more to these levels, as autism is much more complex than that, but I’m just simplifying it for now.

AUTHOR’S NOTES:

I’d like to make it very clear that I’m not trying to glorify autism or make it seem like a “cute thing to add to your characters!!” because it’s not.

I’m just showing more of what it’s like for my characters to communicate and just generally how they function.

This is not a one time thing where Noel and Penne are on the spectrum. There will be more examples/uses of this information in future posts and they’re even in past posts as well.

"Okay, I know this is a scary question, but have either of you seen my gun? I've been trying to summon it but no matter what it won't show up and I'd rather not have to explain to either dad I lost my gun--."

Noel immediately became confused and agitated. “WHY THE HELL WOULD I KNOW WHERE YOUR GUN IS?!!”

TW: occasional & accidental misgendering (but is quickly corrected by oneself).

Noel’s caught off guard, her face and ears turn red. “OH- um. Shelby, as in P-…” She hesitates for a moment, figuring it wouldn’t be okay.

“… she-, she’s funny, a little mean, VERY impulsive, and she’s even started asking me to go to the casino with her! But heh, I can’t really get in since I’m not 18… He’s- damn! Sorry, I’m still getting used to the new name and the whole ‘she, not he’ thing..” She mumbled, a little frustrated with herself.

“I’ve been trying to hang out with her for a while now- ever since I saw her first really. I always thought she was cool with hi- her read hair and stubble and jacket and-“ She quickly shook her head and gave a small dismissive wave. “Sorry, I’m blabbering again-“

“But ever since she started going by Shelby and changed her appearance a little, she’s…” Noel pauses for a moment to think. “She’s really pretty. It- it’s just confusing. I mean, she’s a girl now, so I shouldn’t like her anymore, right? But— I do.” She mumbled, her face growing redder.

“….” She smiled awkwardly and let out a forced cough. “Can- uh, can we talk about something else?”

DAILY OC FUN FACT #3:

Noel’s body type is almost entirely based off of her creator’s, except just a LITTLE slimmer, but not by much.

But she’s definitely overweight, having a tummy that hangs over the hem of her pants and stretch marks that she’s embarrassed about, small hairs on her arms and legs that she tries her best to shave whenever she sees it, big calves to the point where she can’t wear tube/knee-high socks properly, a double chin, etc…

She used to be a lot bigger and overweight when she was little, but she tried her best to lose as much of that weight as possible growing up, because of other kids (and even adults) picking on her and making passive aggressive comments about it.

But despite losing a lot of weight, she’s still self conscious about it, the sagging skin and stretch marks that came with losing weight became a new insecurity to sorry about.

Noel is hysterically afraid of spiders, roaches, and wasps. She won’t scream, she’s not a screamer, she’s more of a freeze and run kinda gal. She’ll immediately grab the first person she sees, her fears overpowering her social anxiety, and ask them to kill it.
