Moon Lantern is a personal creative project with the goal of creating a fantasy & sci-fi YA story based on the concept of enchanted forests, an algorithm governing society, and forbidden magic.
This is a desi/multicultural fantasy set in the future. The aesthetic of the fictional world in the story is inspired by South/West/Southeast/Central Asia & the Indian Ocean! It contains strong LGBTQ+ themes, as well as themes of navigating personal relationships, scientific exploration, and societal instability.
The protagonist is Zor, a citizen on the cusp of adulthood and completely unaware of what his future holds.
