The Pros and Cons of the DuckTales Series Finale (Spoilers!)

So I watched the 90-part finale of DuckTales, “The Last Adventure”, back in March of last year and I do gotta say, it was indeed a spectacular ending to the most beloved reboot series and to me, it does play out more like a TV movie than a special. Which is why I made a pros and cons list about the finale.

Warning: Spoilers for those who hasn’t either finished the series or hasn’t watched it yet.

PROS

The three part finale actually did managed to wrap up almost every story arcs and mysteries that the third season had to put out.

We actually got an appearance of Daisy’s nieces in the form of clones by FOWL. May and June are really interesting characters in their own rights.

The fact that Webby confirmed as a clone/ daughter of Scrooge McDuck instead of being the granddaughter of Mrs. Beakley. Plus her true name is also April McDuck.

Ludwig von Drake is alive and the reason why he didn’t pass away is because he said that “he didn’t have the time.”

The fight scenes are really well animated.

Seeing Darkwing Duck and Gizmoduck fighting against Steelbeak is really outstanding.

Some of the comedic-parts of the special are really funny, like when Magica turned Bradford Buzzard into an actual bird.

We got to see all of the characters throughout the series in either cameos or just plain background silhouettes.

Manny the Headless Man-Horse is actually a gargoyle who is voiced by Keith David.

It’s really sweet to see Donald and Daisy adopt May and June as their own kids.

The end credits scene is really beautiful to watch.

CONS

We didn’t get to see what happened to Hortense and Quackmore Duck, the parents of Donald and Della Duck.

The whereabouts of Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s father is still unknown.

The Terrafirmians from the episode, “Terror of the Terrafirmians” didn’t make an appearance in the finale.

With the exception of that melon in Moonvasion, we still didn’t get a Mickey Mouse cameo.

Negaduck didn’t appear in the finale.

I heard this news a few months ago about Clip Studio Paint announcing a subscription for every update. Many digital artists are worried that CSP is going to turn into Adobe (and by many digital artists, I mean a lot of them). I remember seeing this years ago and thought that Nickelodeon is pretty messed up. Stephen Hillenburg wouldn’t approve this sort of destruction to Palawan’s marine life.

But luckily, this never happened because of that petition. THANK GOD!!!!!!!

Nickelodeon have announced a plan to build an underwater theme park in Coron, Palawan, Philippines. They claim the 400 hectares would “advocate ocean protection,” however by building artificial structures they will actually damage and disrupt Palawan’s marine ecosystems - one of the Philippines most beautiful natural areas.

For a channel that targets children, this is unacceptable and sends a terrible message - to destroy the natural world and replace it with plastic and fantasy. 

WE need to preserve what we have left and celebrate the beauty in nature.

Expectations: Huey investigates F.O.W.L. and no one will believe them and to prove that he’s right he joins them.

Reality: Huey finds the Missing Mysteries in Isabella Finch's journal and has the entire McDuck family to find them all before F.O.W.L. can.

thinking about the FOWL reveal and how season 3 is Huey’s season…. thinking about how Huey finds great comfort in the rigidity and order of rules and institutions….thinking about Terrafirmians and Neverrest and caveducks and how huey was wrong wrong wrong…. just thinking about how huey puts so much faith in the implied safety/security of those who make the rules…thinking about how huey is incredibly anguished when the order of things is disrupted/revealed to have been false/malicious….im just thinking…..

This we celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Cartoon Network Europe’s successful series, the Amazing World of Gumball. The first episode, “The DVD”, premiered 10 years ago today and since then, Gumball and his friends keep entertaining us with its multi-media style animation, its top notch comedy, and of course amazing moments.
