The Potential of the post-movie Trollhunters alternate timeline

so i def think it is a worthwhile idea to follow up on Jims attempts to alter the past and that things would end up very different. i get that that is sort of the intent but i mean beyond his knowing/plans. like i originally liked the idea that he is attempting to better the world by changing things and making life batter for everyone with his foreknowledge but unintentionally causing new issues. but then i thought, what is his supposed to be that the Krohnisfere is a double-edged sword in that it may send you to the past but that past is not the one you knew, so you're foreknowledge is very limited in use. Jim sorta got what he wanted saving the lives of those he cared about but must now live with the full knowledge of these lives being changed from what he knew. i think it would be a very compelling story to both follow toby's journey as trollhunter, while also following jim having to adjust to this unfamiliar new reality.

here are some of the interesting deviations i think could make for compelling alterations to make this reality feel different enough for viewers and to keep jim on his toes.

-morgana is the good one who created the amulet to create a champion for magical creatures while merlin was the one who let his arrogance and fear transform him into the evil one. would also be more evident that her replaced hand is made of jade or magic. also a bit more heavily implied that morgana also romantically loved Guenièvre. it would also be merlin who later revives arthur as the green knight, in an attempt to build a new, warped version of the knights of the round table

-the arcane order are known to troll-kind but live by a firm belief in noninterference, regardless of the potential threat. they would eventually still take up the same intent for the titans from ROTT based on realizing the damage their inaction has resulted in

-gunmar and bular were actually killed in the past during their failed coup and Orlagk and Skarlagk have remained leading the gumm gumms together up to the present. the dark lands were never a prison and is used as the domain of the gumm gumm as they use killahead bridge as a mobile portal there. possible later endgame plot of the bridge being used to seal the gumm gumms away, as originally, by toby. also as morgana never enchanted the decimaar blade, Orlagk does not brainwash/assimilate trolls like gunmar did, so his army is just of evil trolls that grows and shrinks over time through battles.

-there are less changelings in the world but the ones that are have taken the place of many humans in power, including world leaders. Nomura and NotEnrique would be the leaders of the changelings

-angor rot is more of a very dangerous and unpredictable wildcard the changelings inadvertently unleash

-as the Krohnisfere cannot be in the same timeline twice, it was never with Zong-shi in this timeline, meaning he is part of the council of elders and trolldragons have contact with the other markets

-after setting him up with his mother so early on, jim learns that strickler is not even a changeling in this reality, and jim has to live with him growing as an intrusive father figure early on

-the previous hunter who toby retrieves the amulet from the remains of is not kanjigar, possibly Unkar or gogun. kanjigar is alive but remained in the old world with Ballustra.

-draal would serve as tobys teacher/trainer alongside AAARRRGGHH. draal is less aggressive as he does not have the daddy issues or as damaged pride over the trollhunter position. blinky would be the troll market historian and crackpot.

-as he is in less shape, tobys training would focus on unconventional battle techniques. this timeline would also see the gang delve into the mystery of tobys lost a sea parents.

-jim and claires relationship is not as deep as she is not involved in team trollhunter till later, as her brother was never taken in this reality. she would become involved, just under different circumstances. instead she would begin to start communicating with her/being possessed by morgana, in a different version of what occurred in the original timeline but earlier on, and ends up leading her to discovering jim and tobys secrets

-the romeo and juliet story of the garden troll and river troll would be more prominent and a drawn out story

-jim would also take up the warhammer as toby now had the sword. he would also arrange for douxie to join team trollhunter much earlier

-both jim and toby would stand up more to steve, and toby would have the confidence to start a relationship with darci earlier on, with her eventually joining the team too.

-ursuna is still a traitor and jim is constantly trying to find ways to publicly expose her

-i imagine the events of 3below would mostly proceed roughly the same. one difference would be the changes to the gum gumm/changelings presence in the world result in kubrick having less staff and resources. aja/steve babies would still happen in this timeline, though more of steve would be shown, including the odder effects it has on him based on the concept art

The original fan idea I came up with for g5 before it came out.

so waaay back when, we knew we were getting g5 but nothing else about it and everyone just assumed it would be a reboot of g4. i liked the idea of using the same characters/setting but not just retelling the exact same story. boring. so i came up with a sort of fan series idea, starting with the main group, then some input from a few people online who liked the concept, and we made a basic world and character outline for the cast. funnily, some of the world ideas had some similarities to what we did get in g5, primarily in the sort of separation and slow integration of the three pony types. the only other major ongoing storyline besides that would be the gradual growing of power and return of the evil Grogar. In hindsight, I would prob won’t to include a few more elements and characters from g5 as well. the story telling would be a lot more casual in structure, not following the "lesson of the week" format and also spending a lot more focus on the secondary/background characters early on.

basically, ponyville is one of the only towns where the three pony types, among others, mostly peacefully cohabitate; it sits literally at the bottom of the path up to canterlot. canterlot would be a hybrid of itself and manehatten. celestia and luna co-rule but it is a tenuous co-rulership; celestia is a sterner and more detached ruler who adheres more to rules and tradition and puts more stock in the magical potential of unicorns. Meanwhile, luna is more open minded and amiable but out of touch, seeing great value in the simple lives of earth ponies. aside from the three pony types, the other major races of equestria would be dragons, donkeys, griffons, yaks, zebras, Storm Creatures, among others.

so, as for the main characters, which would be a trio; one of each type. now this is where i know im gonna lose a lot of people with the concept. the main trio would be twilight sparkle, applejack and derpy hooves. i wanted a balance of personalities between the trio which is why i chose them. the three would be intended to be in their early twenties age-wise.

twilight sparkle: sort of an awkward bookworm and introvert, besides her two best friends. less naive/controlling or know it all compared to g4. she previously studied as a pupil under the princesses as a prodigy but has hit a rut of figuring out what to do next in life. she currently works as the ponyville librarian, while also living in it. her knowledge and use of magic are unparallelled in the town and she finds herself being consulted regarding the use and application of magic for various situations, with realizing this as her calling being her ongoing arc, along with becoming more outgoing. a running theme would be twilight using a spell to transform the main trio into other forms/races depending on the plot. possible romantic partner, if any, might be Thorax or wind sock. Owlowiscious is her pet.

applejack sweet: would mostly be much like her g4 iteration but a bit more emphasis on her pension for stubbornness and initial distrust to new/unknown things, causing some butting of heads between her and twilight, as well as her dedication to doing things the hard way. it would also take from the FIM pilot that she lives with the very large apple family. Rarity would eventually become her love interest. Winona is her pet.

derpy hooves: she would be portrayed more as very clumsy and scatterbrained but a savant in a lot of oddball things and highlight her being one of the most social, friendly and liked ponies in town. very much the way she was in g4 from "slice of life" onwards. still has the off eyes and despite her bad luck, is one of the best natural flyers amongst the town Pegasi, which is why she, despite her clumsiness, is the towns primary mailpony. still LOVES muffins. Peewee is her pet.

spike: would not be hatched/introduced till later in the series and be raised by twilight. would likely have a redesign of some sort. would be the lost child of the dragon king. after growing a bit, would be less obedient/subservient to twilight as g4

other ponyville main characters

Luster Dawn: a wide eyed filly who loves magic and idolizes twilight, who is likewise bad at making friends

raindbow dash: she would be more of a bully and troublemaker with a chip on her shoulder. always has it out for derpy cause she has better natural flying abilities than those that dash had to strive for, partly due to fiercely competitive parents. her only friends are the griffon gilda, who always encourages her bad decisions; Bulk Biceps, who almost never listens to what she says and just focuses on his workouts; and the soft spoken fluttershy, who always tries to dissuade her from starting trouble and turn her attention to better pursuits.

rarity: the town tailor/seamstress, a posh rich girl and slightly snobby but is on relatively good terms with the main trio, though tends to clash with applejack frequently. Octavio Pie and Plaid Stripes are her assistants and Sassy Saddles is her mostly friendly professional rival.

pinkie pie: sorta just the town clown/nuisance who's always just around; she owns the local party/toy store and many of her family live locally. has a habit of popping up and eating other ponies sweets/desserts when they aren't looking.

Mayor Mare: a former party girl who has been worn down by years of responsibility and bureaucracy. has borderline midlife crisis, constantly trying to reclaim her past and look/act younger than she is. she values her position but just constantly feels very "done" with the antics of ponyvilles citizens.

Vinyl Scratch & Octavia Melody: roommates, best friend and musical rivals, both constantly strive to prove the superiority of their preferred music type. either or both are often performing at local events before choosing to merge their acts.

Dr. Hooves: the eccentric local inventor and scientist, he is a bit out there in his thinking and mostly ignores magic. has a mutual crush on derpy and the two would gradually grow closer before starting a relationship.

Dr. Fauna: the town veterinarian who fluttershy works under

Bon Bon & Lyra: a married pair of ponies always around town, they are the typical couple that is always either bickering or being lovey dovey.

Sugar Belle: the owner of the local bakery

Minuette: the overly talkative and bubbly watch maker/repairer

Gabby: a talkative and equally inept postal carrier griffon alongside derpy, who she is friends with

Cranky Doodle Donkey: the most popular trader/grocer in the market, though also the most unpleasant.

Maud Pie: pinkie pie's completely opposite older sister, she owns the local alchemy stand, due to her deep love of rocks/minerals, and runs it along with her sisters, marble & limestone. twilight and zacora are mostly the only ones who frequent her business.

Tree Hugger: the local hippie and an herbal healer

Cloud Chaser: ponyvilles flying teacher for young pegasai

Pizza Pie: another of the pie sisters, she is the local pizza delivery pony

Strawberry Sunrise: the local merchant of a rival fruit orchard, run by Cherry Jubilee, and a rival to applejack.

Spoiled Rich: the richest, rudest, most ignorant and most unliked pony in town. is always trying to undermine the mayor is Persuit of her own policies.

Zephyr Breeze: fluttershy's lazy brother and the town mooch

Snails & Snips: dimwitted local teen troublemakers

cozy glow: the local spoiled brat and troublemaker-think angelica from rugrats. she enjoys belittling and making others miserable. she is usually able to manipulate snails and snips.

pipsqueak: a small, danger prone child who is always in need of rescue

Zecora: a potion maker and soothsayer, she is the local wise one who lives on the outskirts of town near the forest. she is the only zebra in these parts of the land currently but more integrate later on.

obviously a lot of other background/known characters would have minor or background appearances. ald also some new/original characters would be introduced

other major characters

trixie: a main recurring character, she would again be a wandering magician but after twilight inadvertently shows her up, she sticks around and becomes twilights primary magical rival and is always trying to one up, undermine or humiliate her. she's not evil but just vindictive, entitled and self-important

Moondancer: the only other student that twilight befriended in her studies. she is likewise antisocial and studious; will have magic calls with twilight for them to catch up and get advice. would also occasionally visit, usually causing friction with applejack and derpy. she tends to stay up reading most of the night and sleep during the day, so often appears unkept.

discord: basically a free roaming spirit of chaos. sometimes he eggs on bad people, sometimes he subtly helps good people, hes just there to spread chaos for the hell of it and amuse himself

shining armor: twilights oafish but good-natured older brother. he has a natural ease for achieving things and is often the child their parents dote on most.

tempest shadow: a former rogue unicorn with a broken horn and initially very antagonistic to others. she would later be made the captain of the canterlot guard. she would come to be something of an older sister figure to twilight.

Chancellor Neighsay: the advisor to the princesses, he is strictly conservative, being racist to the other species and even believing the pony types are more orderly separated, resulting in him hating the cohabitability of ponyville.

Star Swirl the Bearded: a legendary unicorn wizard who tutored the princesses but has since mysteriously disappeared. twilight idolizes him

Captain Celaeno: famous bird-folk pirate who always breezes through ponyville. her crew is made of many different races

Starlight Glimmer, Sunset Shimmer, Sunburst: fellow former students of the princesses who studied alongside twilight and moondancer, who she did not get along with and still doesn't.

Princess Amore: queen of crystal empire, the home of the unicorns, and princess Cadance's mother.

Rockhoof & Meadowbrook: married and the leaders of the earth ponies

Somnambula: leader of the pegasai

Daring Do: a roguish adventurer and treasure hunter

Razer: the sleepy and bad-tempered dragon who sleeps in the nearby mountain, he hates when his sleep gets disturbed, which the main trio always seem to do

Torch: king of the dragons and spikes father, really does not like the pony kind. ember is his eldest child and heir

The high society/big names of canterlot, who always seems to get mixed up in the goings on of Ponyville. its big names include Songbird Serenade, Coloratura, sapphire shores, Fancy Pants, Fleur de Lis, Hoity Toity, Zesty Gourmand, the Method Mares & Photo Finish

Mane-iac: a comic book villain that twilight accidentally brings to the real world with magic. despite being defeated and it being assumed she was sent back to her reality, she remained at large in equastria.

grubber: rather than be allied with the storm creatures, he would live alone in the forest, be older/wiser; very yoda-like.

Chrysalis and the changelings are more like boogeymen/ghouls that stalk the night

Kirin: a hidden community of creatures who live deep in the forest. Autumn Blaze often sneaks in to or loiters around ponyville

so i know a lot of people wont like the changes to certain elements/characters and in the end this comes across a basically just fanfiction. I had thought about and developed it a lot, primarily the main trio and thought i'd put it here and see what other might think of it.note the pics are just for fun and don’t portray the exact style I imagine

Also warning of potential minor spoilers from Sonic 3 in this discussion.

Sonic 4

would basically explore the relationship between sonic and amy(very Boom sonic and amy dynamic). it would be discovered the ark destruction sent robotnik into an alternate dimension, where he's been for 10 years, from his perspective, trapped but rebuilding his robots and resources, the gem of which was the metal sonics. exploiting the unstable nature of the dimension, he was able to send the prototype metal sonic back through time in an attempt to kill young sonic. in sonics world, the metal sonic threatens young amy, only for a passing sonic to inadvertently save her and cause its destruction. amy was enamored with and inspired by sonic and dedicated herself to getting stronger to meet him again. In the present, froggy, the partner of amy's friend big the cat, hops though a ring gate to earth after seeing a chaos emerald through it, which he then eats. big and amy go after him, while themselves being followed by sticks the badger. on earth amy saw footage of sonic and knew it was destiny, as her tarot cards foretold they would meet again. she found sonic just as robotnik sent more metal sonics after him. they would soon find froggy and he, big and sticks would just chill with and annoy tom and maddie, who are now anxiously expecting their first child, a source of stress for sonic as well. a running gag would also be sticks' paranoid beliefs about technology are common and normal things on earth, maddening her. robotnik contacts stone and has him start preparing a machine to help guide robotnik back to earth and is sent a malfunctioning metal sonic to aid him. the movie would then be sonic, amy, tails and knuckles following stone and metals trail to try to stop robotnik from returning. the metal sonic would eventually prove he does not have evil in him and changes sides, even as robotnik successfully returns with a whole army of robots. the ending would also have sonic sadly decide to leave the Wachowskis for their own safety as he continues to fight the returned robotnik. sonic, amy, knuckles and tails would go looking for robotnik and a new place to live while big/froggy and sticks just kinda do their own things. stone would also die sacrificing himself to save robotnik in the chaos. mid credits scene would see the malfunctioning metal sonic wandering and finding cans of black and yellow spray paint. the after-credit scene would show the president revealing they believe shadow to be alive and tasks his agent to track him down, who is then revealed to be rouge the bat.

Shadow the hedgehog movie

it would mostly show a brooding shadow hiding and doing his own thing, including hunting down corrupt G.U.N. branches and searching old instillations of Geralds on clues to more of his history. he is eventually found by rouge, who acts like she is innocently tagging along while updating the president on shadows activities. both are being hunted by the rogue agents Mason and Willoughby, secretly sent by the new head of G.UN., Commander Tower. shadow and rouge then find an old lab of robotniks and the jaded, abandoned guard robot omega. it joins them with the intent of getting revenge on robotnik and any other robots he built. eventually Mason and Willoughby get access to powerful mech suits robotnik had built and clash with the trio. the trio overpower the agents and, though given the chance, shadow refuses to kill them. having been monitoring these events through rouge's tracker, Tower realizes shadow was not the monster he'd been built up to be and agrees to only monitor him for now. the credits scene would have robotnik discovering hieroglyphics about the being Choas, and footage showing that it was freed by the breaking of the master emerald in sonic 2.

Sonic 5 & 6

these two would be a two-parter and basically an adaption of sonic adventure; it feels like there is too much to try and squeeze into one film. beginning would show team sonic now living in a massive, multi-leveled treehouse home(KND style), with big, froggy and sticks having also moved in. robotnik would be attempting to race team sonic and team shadow for the chaos emeralds with the intent to give them to chaos and use his power. this would bring all parties and individuals together to deal with the crisis. after everything sonic would also briefly reunite with the Wachowskis to meet his baby adoptive sibling. i also imagine the conclusion would also play out like in sonic X after the battle with chaos, where the use of the emeralds inadvertently transports parts of sonics world to earth, resulting in the intros of the chaotix, fang, cream & vanilla and others. as his home, angel island, was also transported, knuckles decides to return there with the master emerald but says he and sonic are brothers now and he would come if sonic needed ever needed him. the credits would also show commander tower reveal to the president a new secret G.U.N. project to possibly counteract sonic if he ever became trouble; Surge and Kit.

The chaotix movie

the chaotix detective agency are on the case when a string of high value thefts occur. after first wrongly accusing rouge, they are on the trail of the real culprit, fang. unknown to the trio, the diamond cutters trio and mighty & ray, are all also following the same trail for different reason. also in the chase is a famed but inept human detective who has been the chaotix rival. the finale would be on angle island and involve both knuckles and the master emerald. possibility of the conclusion seeing the formation the Knuckles Chaotix. credit scene would show a more unstable eggman conversing with a new droid assistant with the personality of stone when he is approached by Conquering storm, who offers the warriors of her clan in service to him in an alliance.

Sonic 7

basically a very rough adaption of Sonic the hedgehog 2006. differences would be that rather than iblis/solaris stuff, the future would simply be in ruin, and blaze and silver are led to believe, by eggman nega, that the battle between sonic/tails and robotnik in the past caused it. egging on their self-righteous devotion to saving their future, he creates a machine that sends the three back in time to destroy them. silver and blaze then begin hunting their way through sonics allies to get to him while nega goes to deal with robotnik. robotnik, stone 2.0 and conquering storm would be starting the groundwork of the Eggman empires big move, as in addition to her clan, many human groups have also pledged loyalty to robotnik. its revealed that the "threat" that nega showed silver and blaze was actually the work of the now freed surge and kit, who run rampant while the future fighters distract sonics team. eventually all parties converge and defeat surge and kit, unraveling naga's lies, while also offering a skeptical surge and kit chances at redemption, as well as silver and blaze. the threat of the ultimate clash between the Eggman's draws all parties before both Dr's turn their attention on sonic. the finale would see both eggmans banished to another dimension with the chaos emeralds by sonic. the repentant silver and blaze would return to their future to begin rebuilding while surge and kit go off on their own. final scene has a birthday celebration for sonic with all his friends and allies, including the Wachowskis and wade.

It sucks that with the failures of games like Concord, people are attributing the game's failure to it having queer characters, or the queer characters being a symptom of why it failed, instead of legitimate reasons.

Concord had a bloated budget, a long development period (8 years!!!), extensive executive meddling, and unmemorable character designs, and was trying to be sold at $40 while entering a domain of free games while bringing nothing new to the genre. But no, according to gamers, it failed because "woke."

Along with Disney blaming Lightyear's failure on the half-second gay kiss instead of everything else about it, I fear that more and more, queerness will be the scapegoat for why something fails, so corporations can justify not using queer characters anymore.

And we'll see more of these buzzwords, too. "Modern audience" is one that's been getting traction lately. A nebulous term with no meaning, but used in excess to complain about queer audiences getting a bone thrown at them. "DEI". "Woke". "Gay agenda". "SJW". All the same shit from the GamerGate days, repackaged but with the same stink. Look out for whatever the next one is.

Support queer media. And if someone blames a media's queerness as to why it didn't make a billion dollars or whatever, double check if that's true.

My personal changes to the Hobbit trilogy films

so a lot of this comes both from personal preference and obviously hindsight years after the movies came out. im not striving terribly hard to gear things solely towards the books but certain things do work better geared that way plus they do have to stretch out to three movies. i did grow up with both the original book and the rankin/bass special so both of those are equel in the standards i hold things to. ill start with some overarching changes then to some smaller, more detailed ones.

-one primarily would be slightly toning down the unlikable traits of the dwarves overall. it just feels like they pushed too hard in making the dwarves rude, standoffish, unruly and unpleasant to really sympathize with in many cases. if just say thorin and dwallin are the standoffish ones, and say another two or three are the rowdy ones, and another one is the blunt or rude one, it would work a bit more but many of these unflattering traits are just too shared among the dwarves and it seemed like an unnecessary addition that keeps the individuals from being fleshed out more.

-i would also tone down the overreliance on connecting to LOTR a bit. i know they are connected in major ways, but the problem is that this story looses its autonomy and focus, simply becoming a prequel rather than its own story that leads into the next. that includes bilbo not continuously having flashes to the eye of sauron, less implication of sauron focusing on commanding the orcs and getting the mountain/dragon for himself and more that he is aiding/encouraging the events. sauron wanting smaug as an ally would more primarily be gandalfs worry. that would also include smaug not being aware of saurons threat.

-azog would not be in the trilogy outside of the moria flashback. bolg, who would have a different design altogether, would rightly be the main villain and fill mostly the same role. it honestly seemed like a very unnecessary change in the first place. the orc hunters in "an unexpected journey" would not appear until the attack when radagast appears, this would also mean that bolg's identity and motivation dont come out until the cliffside finale even though we see him at weathertop.

-smaug would have his traditional 4 legged and winged design from the concept work. its just my personal preference for dragons. he would also get to say his boast speech in full. a shot of his body sinking into the dark depths of the lake would also be added.

-thorin would have a bit of a longer beard.

-kili would have lighter hair to more closely resemble fili. they'd also get more shared scenes/focus instead of primarily kili.

-dwallin would have more grey in his hair

-bombur and bifur would get more attention and be closer with bilbo like bofur. this would play up their being somewhat outsiders for not being of the line of durin, and also because in both the book and rankin/bass special, bombur is one of the most prominent dwarves, but in the films is mostly for fat jokes and has barely any lines.

-the "misty mountains cold" song would be extended.

-when the witch king attacks radagast, he appears in the armored spectral form from the third film, this makes much more sense as to partially hide his identity from unaware viewers, but also because the form we saw was how he appeared in the shadow realm, so he wouldnt appear that way in the physical world.

-a bit more time would be shown to pass in rivendell, including the "bilbo in rivendell" deleted scene. i'd add a scene where some elf children sing a few lines of the elf song from the book, which amuses thorin, showing a bit of his softer side. the bofur song scene would remain in but would be less chaotic and the elf minstrels would join in, showing a smidge better relationship between the dwarves and the less antagonistic elves.

-the goblins would be designed to more closely resemble the moria orcs seen in "fellowship". they would also emerge after dark and join the orcs on the cliffs before the eagles arrive. similar to the books, the Golbin town song would be present as a chant as the dwarves are taken along. the addition of the goblin king recognizing thorin and hinting at azog would not be present.

-the collapsed bridge escape from goblin town would not be quite so ridiculous.

-a larger group of wargs would attack on the cliff and bolg/orcs wouldnt be seen in the scene until they arrive at the cliff, with the wargs having arrived first

-gandalf would briefly address the lord of eagles before they leave

-beorns bear form would get more screentime and he would be a much less grim character outside his dislike for orcs and distrusting the dwarves. too many characters are grim in this trilogy. the deleted scene of the dwarves intro would remain in

-legolas would be a less ruthless/moody and overpowered character. he would still be slightly naive but very skilled.

-the romance between tauriel and kili doesnt exist, rather she strikes a minor friendship with him and fili in their cells while captured. her and legolas following them to lake town is more her devotion to unraveling the larger events.

-the extended river battle does not take place; after the gate is opened, a prolonged battle between the elves and orcs at the river gate would intercut with the dwarves trying to manage going through the rapids before the remaining orcs flee the battle to follow them. more focus on all the elves fighting and not just legolas and tauriel. also kili does not get poison arrowed.

-alfred gets much less screentime and is less weaselly and is either a suck up or a complainer; is much less aggressive and arrogant in personality. he would either die with the master or remain with the survivors but be much less prominent other than getting stuck with bad duties and acting cowardly.

-only kili and fili get left behind in lake town, from being late from drinking. they are taken in by bard, which draws the orcs there by scent. tauriel would then choose to stay to protect them and the children, which legolas agrees with. they thus see the death from smaug's attack which warrants their unnerving towards thorin later. legolas would not leave the city but simply disappears battling the orcs and doesnt reappear until meeting with tauriel on the shore after the town is destroyed.

-the battle of five armies would be less one sided and hopeless for the humans/dwarves/elves until the near end. more elves and humans would survive to fight on till the end; elf archers would remain on the mountain slope like the book while the rest fell back to help secure dale. the orcs would have much less trolls and ogres fighting for them.

-the misty mountains cold instrumental would be used when thorins company lead the dwarf charge

-rather than a trap and dying separately, fili and kili would be cornered by bolg on ravenhill, who kills both in combat in sight of thorin

-there would be more eagles arriving and a few would be seen being shot down before they fully turn the tide.

-beorn would instead arrive shortly after legolas and tauriel and, after telling off thrandruil, the three head for ravenhill and fight off the approaching orcs while thorin fights bolg. a shot of beorn baring thorins body on his back towards erabor would be seen before the funeral scene. legolas and tauriel would be present at the funeral. thrandruil and his remaining elves would be standing outside dale as the memorial horns sound.

-thrandiul does remain and fight on after legolas and gandalfs words and is shown awkwardly embracing his son after the battle. legolas' final conversation with his father and the reference to aragorn are not present-cause that sucked.

-a short montage would show bilbo, gandalf and beorns return journey over time, including them staying at beorns, stopping at rivendell and digging up the troll treasure.

deleted/extended scenes that would remain in the films: bilbo at the hobbit market, extended dwarves raid the pantry scene, dwarves interrogated by grand goblin, dwarves intro to beorn, enchanted river, extended mirkwood scene, dwarves vs elves battle, the women join the battle, bilbo plants the acorn, thorins company during battle, bifur losing his axe, thorins funeral.

so, what are others thoughts on these changes, would they have been a benefit to the films, a hindrance or are they just overall pointless.

My changes/edits to ROTB to make it a better film, without actually changing the film as it is.

so without changing the overall plot of the film as it is, these are the tweaks and changes i would have made to the film to, to me, make it a far better film. please comment if this makes it better in your eyes

-in the opening, more maximals would be seen fleeing from the terrorcons to the transwarp tower with the main group. the film would also hint more heavily at the maximlas being from the far future.

-there would be less of Noah's scenes in the early movie; just a few of them showing his family is struggling/sick brother and would quickly movie on to him reluctantly joining in Reek's heist to make the money, so we paint him as more of a regretful criminal than this luckless job hunter that isnt a team player.

-the optimus/transit fight would be included(minus narration) after meeting noah and elena; this would be both to show how tough optimus is so it is a bigger shock with how he gets beaten by scourge. also to intro the transformers earlier; the films keep thinking the TFs arent relevant until the plot needs the humans to encounter them when we already know its a TF film and the bots are the whole point of the story. also, optimus' arm cannon would be redesigned to be less bulky and ridiculous looking.

-the dump truck disguise would clearly be shown to just be a hologram

-a bit more play up of arcee and bumblebee as a close duo, including failing to tagteam battletrap, who is more audibly enjoying the fight and boisterous.

-mirage's redundant "what, they fly now?" line would be gone and replaced with something more sensible like "who the hell are these guys? they ain't cocky enough to be decepticons"

-optimus' "impossible" line would be removed. guy acted outraged that someone caught his axe strike.

-a few shots at the museum/alley of the autobots mourning bumblebee

-airazor and elana's deleted scene would be kept in, we would also see airazor transform just to emphasize her point, to which even optimus would cock and interested eyebrow.

-a few changes would be made to scourge; cosmetically, his left hand would always remain the big claw/cannon and not convert to a normal hand. he would be a bit more morose at times, showing that while he relishes what he does, he does still hold some resentment of his slavery.

-after being mentally tortured by unicron, scourge would be mocked by battletrap and they almost come to blows, but nightbird breaks it up. battletrap would then comment that they only follow him because he is unicrons favorite servant...for now.

-the plane ride would be a few minutes longer, and would include; mirage's bravado cracking to show he feels partially responsible for what happened to bee as it was his plan, optimus' explaining to the humans that an autobot hidden in south america will meet them as he sent other autobots around the earth to hide, stratosphere doing some pilot announcements and elena waving out the window to airazor as she flies past.

-wheeljack would have his concept design(the wide one on the far right of the linked pic). the whole accent exchange would end after wheeljacks line "accent, what accent?" with noah just shrugging it off after that. https://i.redd.it/jpal6uh9wr8b1.jpg

-both elena and wheeljack would be the ones to explain history/exposition stuff, often eagerly finishing each others sentences. wheeljack would also be the one to give noah the gauntlet.

-it would be explained there are so few humans around where they landed because of the festival and stratosphere says he will take off before he is seen. prime would also look back at bee's body and stratosphere says he will take good care of him.

-while noah and elena descend into the caves, we have a couple minutes between the autobots. wheeljack tries to talk about bumblebee but arcee gets angry and mirage and optimus chime in to break the tension.

-after scourge comments that the autobts are moving and must have found the key, he is content to wait for the right moment but it is the over eager battletrap who decides to move and force them to give chase.

-the cheetor and rhinox being in the cave scene would be kept in

-as they walk down the river, it would be clear wheeljack and arcee are talking as they walk rather than just blankly walking in the background as mirage and noah talk.

-after primal asks optimus to walk with him in the village, there would be a scene of cheetor giving one of the human kids a ride. mirage would then ask about them staying in beast mode and rhinox would explain the original maximals swore to live more peacefully in their beast modes unless in great need. cheetor would ask if anyone else wants a ride, to which elena, then noah, mirage, arcee and wheeljack all sheepishly raise their hands.

-as optimus and primal talk, primal has a flashback of witnessing human achievements over the centuries, both constructive and destructive, before saying they are worth defending(as was seen in some concept art).

-cheetor and rhinox more openly mourn airazors death with primal, as does elena.

-a line would be inserted to make clear the power of the transwarp key that it can simply will the transwarp gateway into being.

-rhinox would be the one to produce the hologram and explain the tunnels that the humans could use, clarified to be exhaust vents.

-we see scourge specifically use the keys power to summon the sweeps through the tower.

-optimus alone takes out battletrap, with him replacing primal in the mace grab moment and be a bit more drawn out.

-mirage's body envelops noah before reformatting into the suit around him rather than that trash we got of his body just sorta falling apart and metal just materializing slowly over noah like marvel nanotech.

-bumblebee's voice is restored and there is more of a happy/shocked reaction from the autobots at his return

-stratosphere provides cover fire and smack talk from the air as he strafes the volcano

-primal joins optimus in double teaming a more frantic scourge and is the one to deliver the killing blow to avenge his home. scourge would have also morbidly remarked during the fight that he'd once been brave "like them" but all still fall to unicron.

-change scourge's last line to a desperate "unicron MUST prevail" showing that being the slave is all he has left. his death would also simply be primal impaling him through the spark as his body sinks into the lava flow.

-unicron delivers a final threat through the portal just before it closes, along the lines of "you cant deny me forever" or "i will find you"

-a shot during optimus' speech would show the autobots and maximals burying airazor before the shot of primal on the cliffside.

-wheeljack would be seen going back to US with the others

-noah wouldnt get a closing narration, we would just see the scene of him reuniting with his family with music over it.

-mirage being revived wouldn't exist, nor would G I Joe; the closing scene would just be noah going to his interview, seeing elena on tv, and going in with renewed confidence before it cuts to black.

Mystery Inc as pokemon trainers

I really wasted a day and went all out with this when i found the meme templates. So kept them all as being in the Kanto region for simplicity and still imagine them as mystery solvers, just in the pokemon world and with their pokemon to aid in their investigations. I figure a lot of their cases would mirror the weird ep-ep occurrences seen in the original anime/manga; thwarting pokemon kidnappings and other thefts, dealing with rogue or rampant pokemon/trainer, keeping ghost pokemon in check, diving into past mysterious of their world, etc.

shaggys pokemon all match his personality very well, being mostly slow/sedentary types. his growlithe, scooby doo, is always out of his pokeball and with him. his squirtle would eventually evolve to wartortle and be jealous of scooby, sorta being the scrappy doo of things.

I envisioned daphne as going for very cutesy/elegant looking pokemon that are all still very well trained battlers;i do envision her dragonair evolving eventually

freds are all pokemon to aid in trapping; disguise, speed, strength, hole digging and psychic; also strives to get his pokemon evolved to full potential as soon as possible.

velma prioritizes the usefulness of her pokemon so has half psychic types and other industrial/electric types

My idea for a new TF/GI joe crossover series

admittedly an animated series would be awesome but a comic is more realistic.

anyways, one of the main complaints in most fusions of these two, no matter the medium, is that it takes away from the main TF characters. the fix to that here would be the Joes would be the main characters fully and would be pitted against the decepticons in trying to thwart their conquest schemes in the same way they would cobra, though the threat level of the decepticons is more akin to IDW Infiltration depiction. the main setup here is that it starts like the original G1 cartoon, but the difference is the decepticons destroy the ark and most of the autobots in a space battle before they reach earth, though the nemesis and its crew still end up crashing to earth and lying dormant in the same way the arc originally did.

true to the original the main nemesis crew would consist of megatron, soundwave, starscream, skywarp, thundercracker, reflector, cassettes(rumble, frenzy, ravage, laserbeak, buzzsaw), insecticons, and a handful of air warrior seekers(more developed personalities and some gender diversity). following the g1 setup, the insecticons would again be a group that were separated from the main crew in the crash and developed differently over the years before they ally again. the end would also see the nemesis converted into her titan form, as megatrons ultimate weapon.

the designs would mostly just be updates and based on classic g1 themed looks. only different one i know if that negatron would have a design based on his look in the Transformers: Online game. Also I would love to see megatron and starscreams relationship get a bit of a tweak to better differentiate between them. i would characterize megatron as more professional, reserved and commanding, only occasionally giving into her his more reckless/sadistic tendencies. whereas stasrscream would be the one more openly cruel/sadistic/maniacal. not terribly off from how IDW originally portrayed them

the Joes would start more as a smaller task force before recruiting new members they encounter and recruit throughout their activities. the starting team would include general colton, Jane Walters, Hawk, Duke, scarlett, snake eyes, flint, high tech, rip cord, tunnel rat, cover girl, lady jaye, dusty, shipwreck, spirit, wild bill.

there would also be emphasis on the wreck of the ark being on the moon, and scavenging its resources, including from the autobot bodies, over the years since the moon landing is what has given the Joes their advanced tech. An autobot survivor would eventually turn up and uneasily work with the Joes, though the revelation of their cannibalizing their people would lead to the deterioration of the alliance. im mostly leaning towards ratchet as said bot.

carrying over from the use in ROTB, there would eventually be the reveal of a small group of maximal survivors(design aesthetic also similar to ROTB) who have hidden on earth for centuries before making contact with the Joes. true to form, they would be from the far future, though this time by way of trying to thwart the quintessons in their efforts to meddle with history. the ROTB details that would also be kept would be the maximals choice to mostly remain in beast mode and only fight with melee weapons.

cobra commander, in his old snake persona, would also appear in much the way he did in G1 3rd season as an overarching antagonist in the background. much later contact with cybertron would also be reestablished, including a team of autobots coming to earth in search of the ark crew and eventually allying with the joes.

so, does this seem sound enough in basis that others would read if it were a series?

So I had a really weird, random transformers concept idea pop up

So I had this idea that i just got yesterday and kept thinking about. similar to RID2015's motif of all the decepticons being animal themed, this series would have the theme of the Decepticons be based off the universal classic monsters. literally this whole idea came from a pic where someone showed that wfc megatrons arm could be swapped with primes because of the weapon gimmick. and i was like, oh megatron with a different arm is cool, what if he had many salvaged parts, like frankenstein. so yeah i just rolled with and kept developing that concept, fell down the rabbit hole a bit and so here's what i have so far.

the plot is that at the height of the war, shockwave tricks megatron into leading a crew of cons mostly loyal to him on a fools errand looking for an energy source, so he can gain command of the deceptions. ending up marooned on earth in the scheme, they spend years there, attempting to first conquer humanity, then hide from them after being repeatedly overwhelmed and many killed, and finally to simply survive. badly damaged and no longer caring for their goals, infighting finally causes them to all go rogue to survive in their own ways. after the end of the war, optimus leads a crew of autobots to investigate and possibly capture megatron after learning of his fate when shockwave was defeated. the autobots role then would basically be monster hunters, attempting to remain in hiding on earth, with the help of Mikaela Banes, to hunt down the now monstrous decepticons

megatron-primarily based on the Frankenstein monster, he'd be surviving now as a grotesque patchwork of parts from his fallen warriors to stay alive(also partially based on DOTM design). he still maintains his drive to dominate and cunning and continues to manipulate events from the shadows, also sorta making him a bit of dr frankenstein as well. bots he'd def have parts incorporated from would include thundercracker, blackout, demolishor, flamewar.

nightbird would be based on the bride of frankestein, owing to her original origin, she will have been made by megatron from parts scavenged from shadow striker, slipstream and flamewar.

barricade would be based on igor, having been badly crippled and still faithfully aiding megatron as his crony. he secretly has the statsis locked bodies of rumble and frenzy hidden away, which he has one-sided conversations with.

starscream would play up his g1 trait and be a spark ghost, frequently haunting/tormenting megatron but also keeping tabs on the other cons and watching/harassing the autobots.

soundwave would be based on the phantom of the opera, with half his head being melted/badly damaged, he now hides in the sewers and composes his own music which he anonymously broadcasts to the human city above. he is also going insane as his damage means his mind reading abilities are always active and hearing all the humans minds. he also refuses to free his cassettes from his chest out of paranoia that they may either betray or abandon him.

skywarp would be based on the invisible man, his body having been rendered virtually nonexistent by previously being overloaded when attempting to teleport, he wears makeshift armor(made from jet parts and based on the armada version) to be seen and hold together his barely existing physical form.

reflector would be based on the classic zombie horde; he/they created far too many copies/clones at once, spreading the shared consciousness too thin until it snapped, leaving them all bereft of any higher consciousness, only barely living functions like stunted mobility and desire to find energy, as well as brain modules from other bots to potentially restore their own mind.

shatter, would be based on dracula, after a failed experiment in augmenting the decpeticons energy processing abilities, became a ravenous energy vampire, compulsively sucking off raw energy sources to survive, including other bots.

sixshot would be based on a werewolf, having lost control of his savage and now independent wolf mode, which he cannot resist switching to at random times.

spittor would be based on the creature of the black lagoon, with his look and traits based off his tfa version but to a greater extent. he now also has a proper frog alt mode, though a grotesque one.

cyclonus would be based on the mummy, having been supposedly killed by the humans and bound in titanium wrapping and dumped underground to be forgotten. he eventually stirs from statsis lock, his mind deteriorated and his body barely functioning and only held together by the bindings, and goes out to seek warped revenge on humans and transformers alike.

Bonecrusher, based on his movie version, would just be like a wild engine of destruction, very much a jason vorhees type.

blackarachnia, with a tfa design, would be also mutated into a technorganic which is treated more as her being this biomechanical abomination, somewhat inspired by the Metaluna Mutant.

snapdragon and apeface would be based on godzilla and king kong respectively, and be like mini kaiju who consistently feud in beast mode and destroy the same city over and over.

the insecticons are now feral insect types who have built a large underground hive.

the autobots would consist of optimus prime, ironhide(movieverse based), red alert(tfa based), jazz, bulkhead, mirage, hashtag(earthspark based), bumblebee, cliffjumper, whirl, knockout(rotf based) and wheeljack(dotm body design and personality, but with typical colors and head design). optimus, jazz, bee and cliff would have overall design and traits based on their wfc/foc designs, simply just if they now had earth mode features.

so, what are thoughts on this admittedly weird concept?
