Well the Shakespearean one is very fun to read so I would love more of that, but I think the pirate one would be really cool since I'm "working on" (read: consistently losing my mind about) my own pirate story right now, and then we would have a little piece of our projects in common :) :) :)
Me: how come no one has engaged with my posts :((
Also me: *has not made a post in eons*
Anyway I've been busy but I'm really feeling fandomy today so I wanna talk about some AUs that I have that I might want to get back into to possibly find out what you guys would actually be interested in reading more about?
First is the Pirate AU.
The camp half-blood half of the Argo II crew are pirates, with Percy as their captain. Percy gets captured by Jason, a sailor, after he attempts to rob their ship. Jercy enemies-to-friends, some dark Percy, and fairy tale elements: Blackjack is still a pegasus, sea monsters and mermaids exist, etc.
Second is the Western AU.
Percy and Annabeth own a ranch, Jason is the sheriff of their town, Piper and Leo are QPR soulmates as always, and Hazel, Frank, and Arion are a family. Festus is a mule. Tempest is a rare and scary lookin mustang. I may have thought way too much about horse related details and not enough about plot, but any fellow horse girls will understand. Yeehaw!
Then there's my Shakespearean Comedy AU.
A long while ago, I started writing a script inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream for a Fairy Tale AU within the form of a Shakespeareish play. The actual plot consists of Jason being sent by his queen Reyna to hunt and kill a dragon, only to run into another knight (Percy) with the same quest. They then have to race to find the dragon, neither wanting the other one to have the glory of killing it.
If you want to read any of these please yell at me to pick it back up so that maybe I'll finish it and u can read it 😭

Khoa dating Catman and Bruce dating Catwoman is just a naming coincidence but it's also really really funny to me. Khoa is such a copycat.

if the animorphs were on tumblr, what kind of blogs would they have and who would they ship, if anyone?
Tobias: An entire blog of shitty bird photos. He collects them like candy, and people start tagging @redoftailandtiredofshit in their worst bird photos so that he can be sure to reblog them.
Cassie: Social justice blog, obviously. Lots of promoting good news about environmental wins, lots of suggesting ways people can help out in their community, lots of lists of ways to be a little more punk (by helping out your neighbors and destroying hostile architecture) in your everyday life.
Marco: The authority on Powerpuff Girls discourse. He cites his sources, he edits gifsets to back up his headcanons, he shares huge sets of screenshots and links to the show. It's 80% curatorial fandom, 25% piracy resource, 5% unhinged headcanons.
Jake: Made exactly one post, which reads "DAE ever suspect a member of your family got secretly replaced by an alien?" It attracted so many conspiracy theorists, and people shouting at the conspiracy theorists, that he eventually deleted it and gave up.
Ax: Food reviews! Including reviews of such foods as styrofoam cups, wrapping paper, and laundry detergent pods. Known for printing out his entire blog twice a month so that he can have paper copies as backups.
Rachel: All the aesthetic posts, all the time. For concepts, for fashions, for fictional characters. They'd combine short quotes, design ideas, cool photos, and anything else she found. Since she's secretly a diehard romantic, she'd be the one shipping Scully/Mulder and Kirk/Spock and Thelma/Louise and all the other major ships of the era.

How many people post-war do you think still believe all the aliens are a government hoax?
Kind of like most conspiracy theories today, I think the most common flavor of conspiratorial thinking isn't "the yeerks are a hoax" OR "the yeerks are real," it's "I don't have time to figure out if the yeerks are real or not, I have a 6AM shift tomorrow and this everything bagel isn't going to eat itself." Like, if you really talk to an anti-vaxxer, 99% of them aren't choosing to expose their kids to deadly diseases because they know vaccines are dangerous; they're doing it because they can't tell one way or another whether vaccines are safe. Because, sure, every scientist in the known world says they are, but Betty Lou on YouTube says they're not, and really it just all seems so complicated.
So I imagine that post-war yeerk denial is 99.9% people who aren't sure what the hell happened in California, and only about 0.1% people who are hardcore convinced that it was a Hollywood publicity stunt or elaborate insurance fraud or part of Clinton's reelection campaign. Call it 100,000 people in the first camp, 100-odd in the second. Only those 100-odd all have AIM and Myspace, and traditional media have a bad habit of presenting a climate scientist with 40 years of experience as a valid debate opponent for a random full-time gamer who one time saw a snowfall, creating the impression that the issue is a lot more two-sided than it really is.

i was gonna make a post saying its funny when in scifi the aliens dont say humans they call us terrans or earthlings or whatever. but while thinking about it i was like. well yknow in english we dont say 日本人 or nederlanders or les français so maybe its fairly accurate that aliens would pick some other word for us. we could probably get weirder about it actually.

Today a very friendly Golden Retriever came up to me and I said "hey buddy :D" and the owner asked "do you know each other?" like his dog had a social life he didn't know about

i know anakin and padme both having curly hair while luke & leia's is straight is more of an era/actors thing, but it's also really funny to imagine the twins having naturally curly hair and just doing this before every scene:

the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .
for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...
