“Oh, there’s certainly nothing boring about you, my dear,” William confirmed, as the bartender brought him his refill. “And then, there’s the matter of you being of a more... interesting nature than all of these miserable souls,” he continued, turning a little in his seat to better look at her. The centuries had trained his hear to spot a slower heartbeat, and while that sometimes meant trouble, he was hoping this time, the vampire sitting next to him was friendly.

William and Nadia || neveratraveller
Nadia had been watching the older man from across the room, admiring the way he held himself and conducted each movement with startling precision. She could tell that every movement had a purpose and that he was rather disinterested with the people around him. She smirked lightly as she made her way over and sat down on the stool beside him, trying not to chuckle when she saw the amusement on his features. “How could you tell? Is it the fact I’m not boring like every other person in this bar?”

It was one of the best reactions he’d got to the discovery of his identity; most people didn’t believe him or just laughed it off, and there were some who held a grudge against him because of bad English grades. Amusement and shock was the best combination he could hope for. “No, that’s probably unwise, given how my ego suffers from chronic addiction to inflation,” he commented with a crooked grin. “Oh dear, if the world has still got any sense left, you will be,” he declared with no trace of doubt. “Excellent! I always enjoy fans more than haters.”
Inclining her head, she recovered from the shock after a few seconds with what she hoped was good grace. It was odd to think that a people who were supposed to have died hundreds of years ago were still walking around, especially since she was so new. Maybe it would sink in after a hundred years. “I’ll stick with William. Wouldn’t want to inflate your ego too much, I’m sure you’ve had enough of that. Who knows in a few hundred years I could be a famous musician.” She teased. “But I am a big fan.”

William enjoyed way too much the way her eyes widened when she realized her joke had actually hit the target perfectly. “Well, the fact that my name was the only one to pop into your head is very, very flattering. And I much enjoy flattery,” he told her, his smile charming as he gave a small nod. “None of that, my dear, call me William. Or literary genius, whichever seems more prompt,” he joked back, smirking.
Tumblr media
Gia burst into laughter for a few seconds before he realized he wasn’t joking. Oh. Her eyes widened comically for a moment and she blinked. “I was joking actually. I just thought of the first name, or the only name really that popped into my head from English class that fit…” She flushed, looking at him in silence for a second. “Well then, nice to meet you Sir. Glad we got the fact that you’re a literary genius out of the way quickly, so I can hide the fact I got a B on a paper I wrote on of your books.” She joked.

William and Nadia || neveratraveller
William was sitting by himself at the counter of the bar, finger tracing the hem of his glass as he looked at the patrons around him. There weren’t much, and certainly no one that inspired any interest, neither for conversation, nor for food. So instead, he took a long sip from his whiskey, emptying the glass, and asked for another. When a girl took the stool next to his, however, he glanced at her and let a small, amused look show on his face. “I’d say you look too young to be in here, but something tells me I’d be embarrassingly wrong,” he commented off-handedly.

“Oh, I should hope so, or I’ll start doubting the scholar system in this country,” William replied to her question, a playful smirk on his face, though his words were quite serious. When she hazarded his name, he was honestly surprised, but in the best possible way. “Quite impressive, my dear. What gave me away?” he asked with a pleased smile. If there was one thing that made his ego swell was being recognized.
Tumblr media
Gia raised an eyebrow at him, feeling as if she were missing something. “Well I always love a good book…  Can I take it as I’ve read a few of yours?” Shaking his hand, she caught his accent. Enchanted? Well then.  After a few seconds of thought she narrowed her eyes a bit. He couldn’t be…William was a common name. “Shakespeare?” She asked with a laugh, expecting him to correct her.

Her question made him smile and he let his hand smooth down his shirt where his vest would have been, a habit he’d never been able to be break out of, even when he’d adapted to modern clothing. “That would be writing. I’m not half-bad, if the centuries are to be trusted on it,” he replied, then stepped closer to shake her hand. “William. Enchanted to make your acquaintance, Gia,” he responded, his accent rolling a little heavier on his tongue.
Tumblr media
She smiled at that. “So what’s your particular obsession then?” She asked, giving him a once over. Vampire. Obviously her elder. “I’m Gia by the way.” She added, stowing her bow in the crook of her arm and offering her hand.

“Oh, I’ll even let you pick her,” William responded with a huffed laugh. Truth be told, he’d always been curious about the Mikaelson family, especially since Elijah had never given much away and that always tended to make him curious.
Tumblr media
“I believe I can, yes. And were I inclined to give unsolicited advice, I’d do. But given how that’s hardly my habit and considering my own failings, it’s probably wise for me to watch and learn from you lot, instead of trying to preach,” he admitted, and gestured the bartender for another drink as well.
“If you do write about us, I would like some input on the actress who plays me” Emilia chided, before turning back to the bar tender and ordering a refill. Next time she’d make a mental note to visit Camille, she was always keen on remembering how the vampire liked her alcohol.
Tumblr media
“And my family does tend to have that effect, granted being around for 1000 years or so  … I’m sure you can understand” She waved his comment off, why deny that her family was loving and committed when they both knew it to be a lie. The siblings had back stabbed each other time and time again, and would probably continue to do so from now til the end of time.

William could see she was evaluating him, and when she spoke, he figured he’d passed whatever scrutiny she was conducting. “Oh no, I’m terrible at music,” he replied, shaking his head. “As much as I love it, it doesn’t seem to love me back just as much.”
Tumblr media
Tilting her head, she gave him an appraising look. She decided instantly she liked him. Anyone who complimented her music was one she’d like to stick around. “You can listen all you want then, though I’m not used to an audience. Do you play?”

William could hear the hunters approaching, fast on her tracks, and while he normally would have vanished by now, he figured there was a way this whole situation could play in his favor. “Now, I would greatly appreciated if you didn’t, given the discomfort my consequent demise would bring,” he retorted, clearly sarcastic, before he turned to face the direction from which the hunters were coming.
Tumblr media
Addie’s nostrils flared, the scent of hunters getting closer filling them, only slightly masked by the vampires scent. She had no problem ripping into either of them, but hunters where a bigger worry. If they where KGB she was fucked. Growling, she shifted her eyes towards where the hunters where coming from and back to the vampire. “Fine. Ya wanna help, help. But don’t think for a second I wouldn’t happily take a bite out of you blood sucker.”

“I’ve gathered that, dear,” William joked with a roll of his eyes, then settled in his seat on the couch, his eyes trained on her. “But it’s good you aren’t quite fed up with my company yet, as it’s been quite some time since I’ve enjoyed such well-played music.”
Tumblr media
She giggled and pointed her bow at him. “Of course not. Subtlety was never my forte. If I wanted you to leave, I’d let you know outright.” She smiled.

“I don’t know about the company you normally keep, but I tend to avoid urinating on my food, but I might have to resort to tags, if it comes to that,” William retorted with a cocked eyebrow, turning in the direction of the voice. “But then again, I assume you wouldn’t care for them either, would you?” he asked, quite rhetorically. “Oh, thank you, but no, thank you,” he replied, huffing a laugh. “I don’t eat scraps, and as far as the blame goes, compulsion comes a long way into help for that.” He shrugged the whole matter off, then moved towards her, his interest now caught by her. “You, however, are quite the intriguing surprise in this boring little city.”

“What else is left to do if not smile?” William asked, shrugging a bit at how philosophical his own sentence sounded. “Now, that’s a family dynamic I could certainly write about,” he commented after hearing what Klaus had done to her, both his eyebrows raising.
Tumblr media
“Oh, I’ve heard. There’s a reason I’ve kept clear of him, and I would have continued doing so, if it weren’t for those family matters of my own that needs settling,” he conceded, head tilting to the side. “But then again, compared to yours, my family looks like a pony ride across a rainbow.”
“Yet, you still smiled didn’t you old man?” Emilia pointed out, her tone was playful and she was certain he picked up on it. “Nik shoved a dagger into my chest and locked me in a box for a couple hundred years because I helped my twin brother. Last time it was 169 years before I woke up … tends to make one a bit peeved”
Tumblr media
“He’s a total bloody arse if you haven’t heard” The little vampire hadn’t quite found a way to forgive her brother just yet. She doubted that she ever would, and the only reason she hadn’t left the city was because of Rebekah and the return of her brothers.

“What can I say, I’ve been gifted with a charm that only a few selected people can appreciate.” William offered a dry smile, which didn’t reach his eyes as they were too busy studying her stance and expression. She was the first of Elijah’s siblings he’d met, but so far, he couldn’t really complain, considering the picture tales of the Mikaelsons tended to paint.
Tumblr media
“I’m afraid my fall was of my own wrongful doing, and quite legitimate, though I see your point,” he conceded, tilting his head to the side for a moment. “Also, that’s a beautiful picture I’d rather remove from my mind,” he added with a grimace, though a small grin fought to conquer his lips instead. “I take it you’re not on the best of terms with Niklaus.”
“I would probably have turned you for the exact same reason” Emilia shrugged lying through her teeth. She had never sired anyone before, the thought of giving her curse to another never really crossed her mind. Granted, Emilia had always made an effort to not get too attached to humans. Klaus had a tendency of killing those his family held in favor and .  . . humans were very easy to break.
Tumblr media
“Well it’s very easy to fall from Elijah’s graces, most likely do to his holier than thou persona and the dagger I’m sure Nik has shoved so far up his arse somehow” The Mikaelson mentioned offhandedly.  There was a time that she had favored Elijah as her brother, or perhaps she still did on some occassions, but Emilia always remembered him as the man who assisted in her captivity.
