Fear Is A Tool - Growth Mindset
#Fear is normal. But freezing in fear when it’s time to act - that’s weakness.
Here are 5 techniques used by samurais, ninjas, Slavic warriors and still used by special forces today.
1. Fear Kill-Switch: Breath Hold
Inhale - pause - exhale. Hold for 3 seconds.
This isn’t meditation. It’s a way to yank your body out of panic mode in seconds. When breath stops, control kicks in. Used by ninjas, Shaolin monks, and Slavic fighters.
📌 Use it: before negotiations, public speaking, confrontation, or difficult conversations.
2. Heel Strike = Back Into the Body
Japanese and Slavic warriors would stomp lightly with their heel. It’s a signal: “I’m here.” Instant dopamine release. Reconnects you with your body. Sharpens presence.
📌 Use it: when you freeze, go blank, or feel like you’re dissolving - stomp.
3. Staring Into Fear = Reprogram the Threat
Look at your fear. Directly. No blinking. No flinching.
Samurais trained to hold their gaze until the fear “broke.” After 30 seconds, the brain stops registering it as a threat.
📌 Use it: visualize your fear and stare at it.
No drama. It works. Tested by centuries.
4. Fist Clench = Take Back Control
Clench your fists for 10 seconds. Release. Repeat.
It flips your nervous system from “help me” to “I’ve got this.” Muscle tension tells the brain you’re in charge.
This technique is still used by modern special forces in real combat scenarios.
📌 Use it: before doctor visits, in elevators, during panic, or racing deadlines.
5. Power Whisper = Anchor Phrase
Not affirmations. Not chants. A signal. A phrase that gathers your power. “I’m moving.” “I’m here.” “This is my choice.” Say it softly, even just mouthing it is enough.
📌 Use it: on the train, in crowds, before a tough call.
No one hears it, except your nervous system.
Fear isn’t the enemy. Being unable to move through it - is.
📌 Train the body. The body remembers.
📌 These 5 techniques require no time - only decision.

The latest fine on #Barclays is £42 million ($56 million) imposed by the #UK's FCA on July 16, 2025, for failings in financial crime risk management. It involved two cases: inadequate due diligence on #WealthTek (leading to £34M client funds at risk) and poor monitoring of #Stunt&Co (linked to £46.8M from a money laundering operation). The fine was discounted from £60M+ for early settlement and cooperation. Source: #FCA official notice

🚀 Thinking about learning SwiftUI for iOS development? Read this first! 🚀
SwiftUI is an incredible framework for building modern iOS apps with a declarative UI approach. But if you skip learning the Swift programming language itself, you're missing out on crucial skills that make an app functional beyond just its interface.
Here’s what you'll lack if you only focus on SwiftUI:
✅ Core Programming Concepts – Without variables, loops, and conditionals, even basic UI logic becomes tricky.
✅ Data Management – Structs, enums, and protocols help structure data efficiently in an app.
✅ App Logic & Functionality – UI alone isn’t enough! You need state management and user interaction handling.
✅ Networking & APIs – Most apps fetch data. Without Swift, JSON parsing and web requests aren’t possible.
✅ Concurrency – Async/await and GCD help manage tasks running in the background smoothly.
✅ Error Handling – No debugging skills? Expect crashes and bugs!
✅ Custom Algorithms – Sorting, filtering, and computations power smart app features.
✅ UIKit Interoperability – Some legacy features still require UIKit integration.
💡 The takeaway: SwiftUI is amazing, but learning Swift is non-negotiable if you want to build full-fledged iOS apps. Start with Swift, then master SwiftUI to unlock iOS development's full potential!
Have you made the switch to SwiftUI yet? What challenges did you face? Let’s discuss in the comments! 👇
