i’ve been putting off saying anything officially because i thought it was just the overwhelming exhaustion from finishing college after far too long trying and failing at it, but now that i’m done, the love and drive to write still hasn’t come back.

i want to enjoy writing. i want to enjoy these characters. i want to love this fandom and the people i’ve met in it. but something is stopping me from feeling good in this space—has for a while. there’s a few people who’s work that i continue to read and love, but there’s a lingering guilt for the content i don’t interact with, the people i don’t interact with anymore.

all that to say, there has been and will continue to be a bit of a break in content on this blog. i want to return to writing when i have something to say, instead of making what i think people want to see and forcing through when it brings me no happiness. could be tomorrow, could be 6 months, could be a year. i’m not sure.

You flopped down on to the sofa unceremoniously, letting out a slightly dramatic groan before resting your head on Enzo’s shoulder next to you. He gave your knee a light squeeze as he bit his lip to hold his laughter.

“Tough day?” Pansy asked from the chaise across from you. You nodded, slipping down from Enzo’s shoulder to lay your head in his lap and hang your legs off the arm of the sofa.

“Tough, frustrating. Potato, patato, right?” You waved your hand in the air before punching the bridge of your nose. “Matty’s just kind of putting me through the ringer today.”

Enzo tilted his head to the side, “What’d he do this time?”

You let out a long sigh, “It’s just- I love my boyfriend. I really do; he’s my lover boy. My baby, my sweet boy-”

“Gag,” Enzo’s bounced his legs up making your head lift and fall slightly.

You smacked his stomach, “Oh shut it…Like I was saying, I love him but sometimes he’s just kind of like..”

Theo smirked to himself, “Stupid?”

You smiled but shook your head, “No, Teddy, I was going to say-”

“Slow?” Pansy interjected.

You playfully glared in her direction, “No, not that either. It’s more so-”

“Useless?” Enzo smiled down at you before yelping at you pinching his side.

“Mean Enzie!” You fought a giggle as you pushed his hand away from your hip where he tried to retaliate.

“He’s kind of like a manchild,” you managed to get out between scolding Enzo and slapping his hands away. “I swear the type always comes running to me.”

Theo snorted, “Fanculo la tua vita, huh babe?”

You grinned at him, “Truly. Can’t let little ol’ innocent me be.” You threw your arm over your forehead on faux dramatics, “Before me, I swear he didn’t know anything about self-care. His curls were dying of thirst before I came along.”

“Yeah, without you half his brain isn’t there,” Enzo joked, laughing to himself.

You shook your head, “I just don’t understand how he can be so sexy one moment and the next he’s just so..”

“Dumb?” Theo finished, fishing a cigarette out of his pocket.

You gave him the finger, but his smile only grew.

Pansy giggled at the interaction, “How has he survived the earth so long? I swear if you weren’t here half the things he needed to do wouldn’t get done.”

You turned on your side, Enzo running his fingers through your hair. You relished the feeling before responding to Pansy, “I choose to blame his mum.”

The other three nodded in unison.

“Blame who’s mum?” Mattheo walked over to where the lot of you sat, picking up only the tail end of the conversation.

He lifted your legs to sit on the sofa before lowering them on his lap. He looked between everyone, clearly still waiting on a response.

Enzo stumbled over his words slightly, “Oh, erm, Malfoy’s. Just saying she er-”

“Does everything for him,” Pansy finished.

Mattheo rolled his eyes, “You have no idea. I love Auntie Cissy but she really raised Draco to be kind of a manchild.”

The group couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Originally your plan for your day off was to intentionally do nothing. No chores, no errands, just overall give yourself a peaceful and quiet day. Well…as quiet as living in a flat with three other people could be quiet.

You’d come to terms that there’d always be a low hum of some sort of noise or sound no matter what your own personal plans were. Usually it was shouting at a football match. Maybe some hysterical laughter here and there.

Today it was a low toned argument that you had for ambiance as you tried to doodle out some ideas floating around in your brain. It’d been forever since you actually sat down and tried to draw.

Drowning out small arguments was typically easy. Mattheo was a little bit of a hot head and Theo often found it funny to rile him up. When you heard some low tone arguing, it was easy to ignore it for a while.

However, when the disagreement got a little louder your ears perked up. It wasn’t Matty’s voice you heard; it was Enzo’s.

“That’s odd..” you mumbled to yourself, abandoning your work to head down the hall and towards the growing commotion.

Voices led you closer to the kitchen. You stayed, back pressed against the wall next to the doorway so you could hear what got your softest boy all angsty.

“You can’t just do whatever the hell you want, there are rules in this house!” Enzo’s voice raised the end of his sentence. You’d be a liar if you’d said it didn’t turn you on just a little bit to hear him yell.

Not on your list of expectations was a very passionate meow in response. Peeking your head around the doorframe you see what you will only ever futurely refer to as an adorable scene.

Sat atop the counter was Theo in cat form. You swore you saw his little eyebrows furrow as he meowed again, loudly, stomping a small paw on the counter in front of him.

“I don’t care how cute you are like this; it doesn’t mean you can just throw glasses off the counter if they’re in your way. You’re basically liquid in cat form it’s easy for you to go around them,” Enzo’s arms were crossed now, biceps pressed firmly against his hands.

Theo let out another long response, punctuating it with a hiss, pouncing closer to Enzo before backing up again.

Enzo let out a half laugh, “You know I could pick you up at any time. I’m allowing us to have this civil conversation.”

This had you snorting in response, hand clasping over your mouth quickly. But your presence was revealed as Theo spotted you, letting out a small cry of a cat yell like he’d been caught. Which technically he had been. There was no way to spin the story his way if you’d witnessed the actual conversation.

Enzo’s head whipped around, smirking when he saw you, “Ah! See, Teddy. Witness. I win.”

You walked into the room fully, sidling up next to Enzo who greets you with an arm over your shoulder and a kiss to your temple.

In response, Theo melts into the counter. Little paws are splayed out on either side of his little body while his face is half smushed into the counter. A low whine emitted from his tiny mouth before his little cat tongue stuck out.

You looked from Theo to Enzo, the latter rolling his eyes, “Merlin’s fucking beard, you’re dramatic.”

He then scooped Theo’s into his hands. Theo continued to play limp and pathetic until Enzo curled him into his chest and plastered a strong smooch between his ears.

“You know he’s gonna take this as a win right?” You teased Enzo, reaching up to scratch Theo’s head right where Enzo kissed.

He shrugged, smiling as Theo purred at your touch, “S’alright, I’ll just chew on one of his loafers later or something.” Now that you’d make sure you left the flat for.
