5 Ways to Stop Procrastinating
We all struggle with procrastinating so here are a few tips on how to stop procrastinating. 1. 5 minute rule   If you are dreading a task you most likely won’t start on it until the last minute. So to avoid this work on the task for 5 minutes, once you get started you will probably continue to work. If you do not feel like continuing to work on it you at least started it. If you don't feel like cleaning your room try to do it for 5 minutes and start to get in the mood to start cleaning.
2. Get Organized   You will not feel like doing anything in a dirty space. Get organized and clean up. Try to make a    system that works for you. What I like to do is make sure everything has a place that way you know where everything is. Make a place for your keys and other important items. Make it a habit to put your things in the place it belongs. Try to create a clean atmosphere by lighting candles and wiping your desk down, This will make it more comfortable for you in the long run. Keep other spaces clean like your bag or pursue. Clean your bag out at the end of the day and pack your stuff in a day before. Label your notebooks and binders.
3. Time Management   The key to not procrastinating is time management. I you utilize your time wisely you won’t procrastinate. Try to figure out where your time is going. Do you spend too much time on your phone try to cut down that time by feeling it in with something useful. Plan out your week in a week in advance if that is not possible try to plan your day the night before. Create some type of schedule and set timers or reminders if possible for what you are suppose to do. Set a time frame for each task and a break for each if it goes over an hour. Tell someone else about your plans so they can hold you accountable.
4. Give Yourself an Award    If you award yourself every time you accomplish a task in time or in a timely manner. If you do this you will have something to look forward to after all your hard work. It will become a habit to do your work on time after a certain amount of awards.
5. Break Down the Workload   If you have a big project due in 3 weeks don’t wait to the last minute. Break it down to a task a day so you can finish the project early. If you have a packet do 2 or 1 page a day once you get the packet. If you have a big personal project break it down so it can fit your schedule.
