I just wanted to say that I am disappointed. To choose to focus on a habit and blow it out of proportion by calling it "OCD" is stigmatizing. Do you even know what the symptoms of OCD are? That individuals have severe intrusive thoughts that give them extreme anxiety leading them to do compulsions (yes, in some cases, counting or organizing foods but NOT all) to reduce the anxiety? They feel that they MUST do those compulsions or else something bad will happen. It's simply not funny in the least
Yes, we understand very well, and personally, what OCD is. It is not our intention to make fun of, or make light of, the people that struggle through it. You have my sincerest apology for not making this clear and upsetting you.
This company was started by someone with OCD, one who's compulsion is mild and food based. Just as not all compulsions are food based, not all cases are severe. Our goal is to try and make things easier, a little less stressful, for people with food based compulsions.
Personally I understand just how frustrating and, to use the mildest word I can think of, mortifying it is to have. My boyfriend is embarrassed to take me grocery shopping with him, yet he has no choice since I'm better at finding deals. I always end up stopping to straighten displays, to group things in sets of three, and end up leaving the store making sure to try and look like I'm laughing about it instead of feeling like dying.
I can't stress enough how sorry I am to have upset you, especially since it's my fault for not making things clear. It was never the founder's intention, or mine, to make light of OCD.
