Omegaverse, set in the 1990s, low-angst, wolf shenanigans 🫶

Alpha children have plenty of options when it comes to how to spend their summers - Schools and Academies and Programmes all designed around turning them into strong little leaders like they ought to be. Crowley, however, finds the lack of options for omega children to be particularly unfair. Luckily he has the means (and the time, now that he's no longer beholden to a Particular Dead Weight) to change those lack of options on his own. Well, also with help from a good friend. What he doesn't expect is the love he finds along the way.

Christmas is just the sort of holiday a demon has no business enjoying, even if one particular demon is entirely responsible for just such a holiday. After Armageddon't, he finally has a chance to see what all the fuss is about and one particular angel is very eager to show him. It's been nearly two thousand years of missing him every December, after all, so there's much to do.

There's mulled wine, Christmas markets, a tree to decorate, gifts to give, and secrets to share.

It's gotten better and continues to improve, and I love it

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.

Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.

I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!

Good Omens Fanfic Friday (16 Aug 2024)

The Crawly Chronicles (series) (179K; Rated M/T/E) by @theladydrgn and @sylwritesstuff

Human AU (sorta). It's Venom...but Good Omens, and written by my favorite writing duo, ladydragona and SylWritesStuff. Aziraphale is the intrepid but stepped-upon reporter. Crowley is the alien symbiote (called Crawly) who attaches to him. The M-rating in the first story is due to quite a bit of violence (within the canon of the movies).

"Crawly" is the first of the four-part series and while this particular story is friendship-only, Aziraphale is starting to have some feelings for his symbiote. It stays platonic; it's only when you get to the sequel that things take a turn for the E-rated. You can read the first one as a standalone if you're not interest in the romance/sex angle.

When Aziraphale Fell, reporter for The Daily Messenger, is tasked with a simple story on smuggling, he isn't expecting to find out that Lightbringer, Inc. has been experimenting on something that could be an animal, an oil slick, or something else entirely.

He especially isn't expecting that being to come home with him and change his entire life.

This was so gorgeous and romantic, even as it was wrapped up in a horror story. Their love leaps off the page.

After the Armageddon-that-wasn't, Crowley has found himself a new hobby: scaring ghost hunters, sowing mild discord, harmless fun.

But when an old castle turns out to be an actual demon's lair, and a new Principality seeks Aziraphale for advice on humanity, things start escalating rapidly. An ancient demon is a threat they weren't prepared to face, and eventually the only chance to save a certain former Guard of the Eastern Gate is to literally dive into his mind and traverse his memories from times past...

Human AU. Az and Tony are voice actors on a popular children's show until a homophobic campaign destroys Tony's career. This one made me cry a little, though it does have a happy ending.

How about Mabel and Beatrice drag Dipper and Wirt to a rave, with people wearing neon body paint, and it ends with Wirt and Dipper dirty dancing to the song electric feel by mgmt, while covered in paint (Dipper blue, Wirt yellow). ((And I actually had this idea for awhile but someone actually drew my dream. And if anyone could write this story, it be you. Your writing rocks. But again, it's up to you if you want to do it. If you don't, I understand))

Summary:

So the fic was taken down - via DMCA claim on Wattpad and, most likely, them panicking at getting caught on ao3. I would be happy to talk to this person and explain why what they did was wrong, but they blocked me on both ao3 and Wattpad.

The fic may be 13 years old and in a fandom I dropped like a hot potato when the author came out as terf, but do not steal from me.
