Good morning everyone, welcome to science class. Today I will be teaching you about SIPHONOPHORES, the most cutest bestest creatures that have ever existed on mother Earth. They also happen to be what inspired my username, only I made a wordplay out of it because I also like music. Sometimes I can't believe that I'm really this creative 😍😍😍.

What are siphonowhores, you might ask? Well, firstly, it's spelled siphonophores, not whores, sweetie. And secondly, I'm SO glad you asked!!!!! These glowy gorgeous little guys are a kind of marine organisms. Each clump may look like a whole animal, but they're actually colonial organisms, meaning that they're made of a lot of even tinier guys, made to look like just one big guy! So basically this:

Only they usually don't hold money, nor do they wear elegant hats. :(

They are hydrozoans that emit light to attract prey, and they certainly do attract 🥹. Many other sea creatures produce blue and green bioluminescence, but siphonophores are the second life form found to be able to produce red light. They're dramatic like that.

I've been reading an Isaac Asimov book I found around the house. I expected it to be really boring but I was in the mood for science fiction after listening to miss Grimes in some interview blabber about how much she adores the Dune books (I tried to read the first one but failed). The book I'm reading is called The Winds of Change, a collection of some of Asimov's short stories, and it's everything I thought it wouldn't be, which is making the reading experience so fun. The guy isn't boring!!! Shocker!! And I love how dynamic it feels to read a bunch of short stories instead of just one long story the whole 300 pages (23 year old discovers short stories. Wow.). I love the classic book format but this is a nice once-in-a-while change, I think.

Anyway, here's the style of clothes I've been enjoying lately:

I've been trying to layer tops (since I'm most comfortable at work when I wear jeans and I'd like to at least have something interesting going on in the top half of my outfit). I'm constantly looking around for tops that have interesting textures/are made out of flowy or sheer materials to mix and match them, because I don't know how much longer I can go just wearing my usual boring grey sweater with those goddamn blue jeans. I'd like to feel at least a LITTLE interesting when I walk past a mirror, PLEASE. Just give me something.

I've also been searching for more post-focused fashion/journal blogs like mine because I miss them :(. I love how personal they are and how it feels like someone's world has opened up to you a little when you go on their website and see the way they customized everything. I wish today's social media were more customizable. And I wish most cool blogs I found weren't inactive.

Here's to more online journals and cool writing and moodboards and the comeback of blogs!!!!!!!!! I will be using my witch powers to make it come true.

dressing up really does help! wow!

Today I wore the same outfit as Saturday (except it's a different grey sweater) because it feels too good not to rewear. Sitting on the moveable staircase at work (for eating breaks) was difficult because my skirt gets wrinkly really quickly and also my tights started getting holes, but I'm stronger than a few wardrobe malfunctions. Like the Bratz once said, with all their wisdom: fashion is my passion. And I will live by that.

Usually I just wear jeans, a grey sweater and some black or white sneakers, so I really want to challenge myself more and try out new things. My brain always feels so full of ideas and epic moodboards. I can visualize all the incredible outfits I will wear someday, "it just needs to be the right time!!!!". But it's never the right time.

Well, I'm making now the right time. Suck on that.

It's not been long since I started putting more effort into my everyday fits, but I've noticed that I feel more... how should I say it, inspired?? It feels like I'm putting a little more effort into making my life more interesting everyday by expressing myself. Even when I wear something that I'm not completely sure of, or that makes me self-conscious when I'm around people, I end up feeling proud that I was brave enough to be myself, which makes me feel happy and creative. I must also add that although I have really cool personal style in my head, it's something that I'm just now starting to externalize because I grew accustomed to trying my hardest to fit in in high school, and that has sadly stuck with me. I get anxious when I wear something that I think is a little different, even if it's something completely normal to whoever else. Like shoulder pads, layered shirts, or even just a skirt feels challenging to me. And I want to be free from that. I WANT TO BE FREEEEEE.

Anyways, here are some of the songs I've been listening to since January on my bus rides to work (wrote them down on my physical journal). According to SpotifyStats the genres I've been listening to the most lately are Lilith and Metropolis. Don't ask me what those are.

I deleted Instagram and TikTok and BeReal from my phone. I just couldn't go on scrolling on there for all eternity. Lately I was feeling like the doom scrolling was sucking me into a limitless void of nothing, of constant distraction. And from what??? I don't even need distractions!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd like my free time to be filled with something real, like reading or drawing. I want to write long entries on my journal and just think about random stuff when I'm bored. Let a girl just think instead of scroll 😭😭😭. (Don't worry I will probably write a longer and even more boring post about this whole social media detox process I'm going through lol)

So I made a blog, that no one's gonna read. Well, hopefully my friends will if I haven't told them my whole day yet. I chat a lot now that I don't have social media. Maybe I need to be more mysterious so that they read this.

Anyways, photo dump time!!!!!!!! Sundays are for lazing around so I went to see some ducks!!!!!!! I took pictures with my dad's old 2005 camera.

They're normal photos but the camera makes them all CRUNCHY and that's what's important, really.
