people are absolutely EVIL about the boundaries of “picky eaters”. no, they do not have to try it. yes, they can know they don’t like it without having eaten it before. no, they probably have not suddenly grown a taste for the food they’ve said they hate. no, they probably are not going to like it in the Special Way This One Place Cooks It. yes, you are being a bad friend if you try to “trick” them into eating it anyway

Not a perfect headcanon...
NOT A PERFECT HEADCANON ???!!
THIS. IS. AMAZING!
And it makes sense! Bonus, you do not describe any of them (Unicron and Primus but Autobots and Decepticons too) as good side or bad side. And this is a, as Shockwave would say, logical explanation to the ridiculous similarity between both planet fauna.
The cycle of Primus & Unicron (headcanon)
Unicron and Primus have, as far as I am aware, been part of the Transformers canon since G, and in that time they have done very little. That is to say, Unicron was busy eating people and doing generally evil stuff, while Primus was left as an ambiguous and interpretable figure who never interfered or was given a voice/role.
I kinda set them aside as ‘the weak mandatory unexplored Cybertron religion’, until a certain episode in TFP. The episode that revealed Earth to be Unicron; ‘One shall rise’. To me, this explained so many things. The unexplainable amount of Cybertronian relics, the presence of energon, and perhaps most importantly the similarities between humans and Cybertronians. It offered a vague hint as to why the humans look so similar to the Cybertronians, and why they have so much in common; at the root they are connected. Then I got to thinking a little more about this. If I wanted this headcanon to work, it would have to make sense that humans sprouted from Unicron, even though humans are not inherently evil. And Cybertronians are not inherently good! So I started to look at the other things that set Primus and Unicron apart from each other. Primus is inert, Unicron is active. Primus is order and peace, Unicron is chaos and war. Primus is robotic and Unicron is organic.
It brought to mind a cycle. Order, after all, is only good as long as it is balanced with Chaos. Too much order inhibits growth and keeps change from happening. The same happens with Chaos- if there are too many changes and too much rapid growth, nothing will be able to last more than a short moment before being replaced. So, what if instead of Unicron being evil, and Primus being good, the two gods cycle back and forth between Chaos and Order? We would be seeing the late stage of Primus’ transformation - his order and stillness forcing all the living creatures in and on him into death until nothing is left to take. In contrary, Unicron is only gaining more and more life - his crust is teeming with countless lifeforms! Still organic, still fleeting and chaotic, but there is already a species creating robots and researching a way of continuing life beyond what their organic bodies are capable of. Just like the Cybertronians did to Primus long ago, humanity will gut Unicron of everything he has to offer, eventually shifting towards order more than towards Chaos. Over millions of years everything is brought to a status quo, and brought under strict rules. Humans become more alike robots, as augmentation becomes more and more apparent. Back on Primus, abandoned and empty, chaos has taken its toll on him. Heavy space storms are battering him, meteors are impacting him, solar flares boil his surface and dark patches of space freeze him to the core. In spite of that, a single celled organism manages to withstand all this, and it begins to evolve. As conditions stabilise over millions of years, Primus’ surface is covered in organic creatures - dust and corpses and carbon slowly burying the old relics of the people that lived on him before. It is not a perfect headcanon just yet, but I am very proud of it. I hope to get an idea where I can use this in a story, but since it cycles over such a long time I think it will have to stay as just a headcanon or background worldbuilding.

I love you.
Ps: Why is it that my friends and people on Tumblr are more understanding that my family??
Spoiler : I do not have a good relationship with my family
It’s almost like severely shaming people who struggle with self hygiene because of mental illness or sensory issues isn’t going to make it easier for them to do those things. Fuckssake.

If I see one more take about the hidden world being super mature, actually and how it’s a fantastic story about letting go, and if you don’t like it you’re a crybaby who doesn’t like change I may do something I regret.
I fully understand what they were going for, and letting go is a wonderful theme when done well, but it just did not work for the world they built up and I’ll forever be a hater of that movie sorry.
Also it’s not character growth if you have to dumb down and regress your characters for your conflict to even work.

The only adhd tips that actually work:
1. Never tell anyone what you're planning to do until you do it (you will get a premature dopamine hit and sense of accomplishment from telling them and lose motivation to actually do it)
2. Never sit down (never sit down)

‘While bats can only sense the outer shapes and textures of their targets, dolphins can peer inside theirs. If a dolphin echolocates on you, it will perceive your lungs and your skeleton. It can likely sense shrapnel in war veterans and fetuses in pregnant women. It can pick out the air-filled swim bladders that allow fish, their main prey, to control their buoyancy.
It can almost certainly tell different species apart based on the shape of those air bladders. And it can tell if a fish has something weird inside it, like a metal hook. In Hawaii, false killer whales often pluck tuna off fishing lines, and “they’ll know where the hook is inside that fish,” Aude Pacini, who studies these animals, tells me. “They can ‘see’ things that you and I would never consider unless we had an X-ray machine or an MRI scanner.”
This penetrating perception is so unusual that scientists have barely begun to consider its implications. The beaked whales, for example, are odontocetes that look dolphin-esque on the outside—but on the inside, their skulls bear a strange assortment of crests, ridges, and bumps, many of which are only found in males.
Pavel Gol’din has suggested that these structures might be the equivalent of deer antlers—showy ornaments that are used to attract mates. Such ornaments would normally protrude from the body in a visible and conspicuous way, but that’s unnecessary for animals that are living medical scanners.’

Parents who learn about their child having some type of cognitive disability, such as ADHD, autism, or a different diagnosis, and still jumping to the conclusion that any failure or lack of trying from their child is a purposeful choice is just. My guy. My gal. My buddy. There is a diagnosis. You most likely have a computer or cellular device. Fucking use it to research this shit from reputable sources vs autism mom Facebook groups. Your child hasn't done the dishes just because they don't care and want to make your life harder. There is something stopping them. It's almost like you got a piece of paper telling you what is up with your child so that you can potentially research it more.
I don't get it. If I ever had a kid who was diagnosed, I would have so many questions, and I would do my own damn good research. Rather than be like. Hm. Clearly my child is a spiteful little worm who enjoys seeing trash and recycling pile up.
No. It's right there on the fucking paper(s) you were handed. Read them

Anti-vaxxer extremist RFK Jr, the US Health Secretary, is now actively trying to collect medical records of folks on the autism spectrum. First, he used dehumanizing and infantilizating language to insist people with autism won't 'pay taxes and live a 'normal life' which we all know is ableist bullshit and is literally a precursor to genocide. This man is a monster.

Harvard rejects Trump demands, gets hit by $2.3 billion funding freeze
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/harvard-will-fight-trump-administration-demands-over-funding-2025-04-14/
A university with a spine! Huzzah!
(This is genuine insanity. Why is Trump fighting HARVARD? But then why shouldn't he? Education is a threat, after all.)
In summary:
White House made certain demands to Columbia. Columbia agreed, traded integrity, got no funds back, and are presently being boycotted by the other Ivy Leagues.
White House made even harsher demands to Harvard. Harvard disagreed, and got hit by a $2.3 BILLION research fund freezing.
The demands include a practically semi-annual review of hiring, teaching, admissions and student life across the university by a political appointee mostly centred around limiting international students + ZERO GUARANTEE OF FUNDS for compliance.
Authoritarian regime much?
Anyway, shouldn't have an immediate effect on Harvard. If there's a Uni with the endowment to persevere through the rest of this administration, it's them; they're filthy rich.
But it's them now. Trump has stated bluntly that there are many other universities to come, some of whom don't have billion-dollar cushions. Things like this demand collective resistance. MIT has already joined Harvard. Thus is where university coalitions, accreditation boards, alumni networks, researchers and students need to stand together.
Academic freedom can only survive if defended.
If things don't change there's bound to be a massive brain drain. All the US is doing is just digging its own grave deeper and deeper.

254 of 365: Dedicated to the devoted and amazingly talented head of character animation, Simon Otto.
The cool thing is I actually met Simon Otto in person last year, which gave me the opportunity to thank him and compliment his work on HTTYD directly. He’s an incredible storyboard artist/director who’s love and pursuit of authentic storytelling is clearly evident in his work. What always awes me about HTTYD every time I watch it is the utter convincing performances each character displays on screen, including the dragons. HTTYD works not only because the story is cool or the music is top notch, but that the characters feel real. Believable, to the extent the audience empathizes with them, where the depth of the bond between Hiccup and Toothless is practically palpable. To the point where I even catch myself double checking if there really were dragons long ago, and that there was a viking boy named Hiccup who befriended them.
Simon Otto has been working with HTTYD for the past decade, and each time I hear him talk about animation it makes me just wanna pull out a pencil and just take notes. A master of his craft, I admire his passion and am inspired by his creative drive to deliver such captivating genuine stories through this unique medium.
You are seriously rad.
Thank you Simon Otto. ❤️
